Can't export transparent background

When I export a Motion 5 movie with a transparent background, the background appears black in the exported movie. Here are my settings (view below). How do I export a transparent background from Motion 5?

Not all codecs support transparency, this includes H.264. You will want to use ProRes 4444.

Can't get Transparent background in Adobe Flash Professional CS4

I'm wanting to create a moving object that will be exported into a tv commercial.
Object has already been created in Adobe Illustrator, and now will be dropped into flash for adding movement.
The destination commercial will be created in Sony Vegas, with the settings of (Australian) PAL television (25 fps, 576x720 pixels, lower field first).
Thus keeping it simple, I want to set Adobe flash with the same output format, meaning that the canvas will have to be 576x720 pixels at 25 fps. So far this seems to have worked okay.
Now I'm wanting to get rid of the canvas colour, just like I have here in this photoshop screen shot.
Judging by the colour palette in Flash Professional, it looks like it can't be done. I've checked "transparent palette" through yahoo and google, and had no results. The adobe documentation only details how to remove a background in Photoshop.
Can someone please inform me how to get transparent background in Adobe Flash Professional CS4. Thanks

As far as I know there is no option to set up a file with a transparent background in design mode. A transparent background is normally realized in the embedding code of an html web page that displays the Flash file (using wmode="transparent" as a parameter).

Exporting transparent background titles?

I tried to export my title as a .gif, but when I upload the image to my website it has a black background. how can I make the background transparent and still have my title animation fade in? I also want to stop the .GIF from looping. I have an alternative method if its not possible in premiere.

The thing Japarokee wants to do (animated text on a website) might be solved best with tools specialized for webpublishing (adobe edge, animated svg, css animation or others).
If you want to stick to gif, including the background of your site in the .prproj might be best.

I am working on a FCP project which I have also made an animated lower third in After Effects. However, I do not know how to export from after effects preserving the transparent background- it always just ends up as being black...

i have a png image whit a blue background
if i select the background and press CANC photoshop ask me how i want to fill it, colour BG colour etc...
why i can't just delete the BG and make it transparent?
and another thing, when you have the 2 colour selection (on the left side) the white and the black square, is there a way to make the bottom square transparent? (i suppose is the grey square with a red line in it)

You can. First you need to convert the background layer to a normal layer for the Photoshop "Background" layer does not support transparency. Then select the white area and delete it.
Save as a png.

This is a bug that I personally reported and had verified. Basically, you can modify the color of GUI components' backgrounds, right? Well, the Color object supports transparency. However, modifying this simply doesn't work (I actually tried it two ways). At any rate, what I observed was that it DID let me do transparency, but there were all kinds of repaint problems. So when 1.4 came out, I thought they might have fixed it. NOPE! They just threw out the implementation, at least for now. Now when I run in 1.4, I don't see ANY transparency AT ALL!

How can I have transparent background on b/w drawing?

I have many technical drawings saved as tiff files that need the outer background transparent while maintaining the white fill within the drawings. I need this so that I can place the drawings within other documents created in both ID CS4 and AI CS4. Any idea how I can achieve this?

I would say your best bet is to use the wand tool, (make sure Contiguous + Anti-alias are both checked) and select the area around the outside of the drawing.. then use the [ Refine Edge... ] button near the checkboxes, and fine-tune the edge settings, and finally, delete the outside area. Make sure the layer that you're working with is not a background layer, and if it is, right click the background layer and select "layer from background."

Help export the graphic with transparent background and not braking the quality

hi I'd like some help please if its possible.
I've created a monitor graphic in Fireworks that looks like iMac and I would like to export it with transparent background.
the jpeg format looks great with no damage to the graphic at all but I can't have transparent background, although I changed the canvas fill to none. the png-8 format can apply transparent background, but damages the graphic.

Using animated gifs with transparent background.

Hi guys,
Keynotes 6.2.
I have been onto apple support with this problem.
I add a transparent animated gif to my project.
It show as a movie correctly in the presentation but when exported as quicktime or HTML the movies fail.
We eventually found out that quicktime does not support animated gifs. ( support.apple.com/kb/ht3775 )
So I exported the animation onto a folder with all the frames separately and brought them into final cut pro.
I then followed these tutorials on how to export with transparent background. ( http://provideocoalition.com/mspencer/video/fcp-x-and-alpha-channels and http://www.larryjordan.biz/fcp-export-transparency ).
I now have a quicktime movie that if I bring back into Final Cut Pro it has a transparent background.
However when I bring into keynotes it still has a black background. (presumably keynotes does not recognise the Apple Prores 444).
Any ideas how I can achieve what I need. ?
I am using a program called crazytalk animator and can output with transparent background. Animated Gif or a series of image stills BMP, JPEG, TGA or PNG.

This has been an ongoing issue for me since I switched from Powerpoint to Keynote. Most of the animated gifs with transparent backgrounds that I used with Powerpoint are no longer transparent in Keynote. You may want to search for those earlier threads on this topic...
To summarize: I've had to open up my animated gifs in After Effects and use the Color Key effect to restore transparency, with mixed success.

How to fix issue with saving flattened PNG32 with transparent background?

Using CS6 on a 15 inch MacBook Pro. When I save a layer as a flattened PNG file, the transparency is not preserved and I see a white background. Tried using the export option with the same result.
I originally switched from CS5 to CS6 to address this issue itself. It worked the first time after fresh install. However has stopped working since then. Seems like a bug in the software.
Can anyone help find a way to address this?

I have the same issue with CS6, Can't export transparent PNG 32 or transparent PNG 8, can't go back to CS5 because then I can't use the CSS generation tool... So I need to use CS5.x to create the transparent PNG and I need to use CS6 to create the CSS... Bah this is an awful workflow. I don't know why Adobe has never been able to get transparent PNG's correct. Between photoshop and fireworks there is so much confusion with the PNG 8, PNG 24, PNG 32, what is transparent, what isn't transparent.... It's a joke. Fireworks is such a better program for web design than Photoshop yet this is the one thing that has been holding Fireworks back and it's still doing it. GIANT PITA!

Transparent backgrounds on charts

In numbers, is it possible to have a chart with a transparent background. Right now, the entire chart contains a big white background. I did discover that a table can have a transparent background, but so far, I can't seem to find this feature in charts.

There's another option that results in the same look but a very different behavior.
If rather than move the Opacity Slider to zero, you select Fill > None in the Graphic Inspector, you will still be able to see through the table. The difference is that you can click through a table with Fill set to None, but you can't click through a table with zero opacity Fill. Zero Opacity Fill is like a glass window. Fill > None is like an open window.

Save image with transparent background

Hello,
I use the IMAQ vis in labview to cut out from a tif image an object that appears on a grey spotty background and paste the object on a "clean" background. Currently the "clean" background is white. The image is saved as a tif file and read in photoshop where the object is rotated to match a predefined orientation. The problem is that the white background also rotates which is not desirable. When the manipulation is done entirely in photoshop (cutout + pasting + rotation), the clean background and the object are placed in different layers. Is there a way to do this in Labview, that is to create an image where the background and the object would be read by photoshop as being in different layers? Alternatively, can the clean background be made transparent in labview. I understand the png files can have a transparent background. How can I specify that the background is transparent instead of white?

You will need a 3rd party image editor that can seletively remove the background and let you create a transparent background png file. Maybe with a drop shadow (or not) something like this:

Exporting text with a semi transparent background that can be changed in PS or PP?

I'm creating a logo with a semi transparent background that I want to place on top of photos in Photoshop and videos in Premiere.
1. I do not see a transparent option when exporting as a .tiff. Is transparent .png my only option from AI?
2. I will need different amounts of transparency for the background depending on the image or video it is being placed on. Is there a way to export this and still have control in Photoshop or Premiere of the amount of transparency to apply towards the background?

2. Since the logo is text and the background is a rectangular shape, I need to make sure that I can lower the opacity in PS or PP independently of the text. I will have to do a test later, I do not have the file on this computer.

If you can't get the PNG file export to work, you can export a pdf and open it in Photoshop, from there you can save it as whatever you like.
