Can't figure out how to stop my MBP from opening programs at startup, namely word and messages

Recenty my MBPro has started opening MS Word and Messages at startup and I can't figure out how to stop it? I've tried selecting and de-selcting the startup option from the dock but this doesn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

System Preferences has a setting for this.
In the Users & Groups section you will fine a "Login Items" header. This is a list of all the programs that will open automatically when you log in. You can select any program and click the [--] button below that window to stop the program from opening automatically.

This is usually a sign that your iPod's headphones are not plugged in all the way. Make sure that you cannot see any of the silver still showing from the headphone's plug. You should hear a sort of popping/clicking noise when inserting the headphones letting you know that they have been fully seated.

I have a Verizon IPhone 4 and i can't figure out how to get my ringtones from an app to my iTunes account, it doesn't have a tab for Ringtones! I have tried unplugging it and checking if would show up but it didn't, how do you enable the ringtone folder?

Edit > Preferences. Select the check box for Ringtones, this will add them to the listing in iTunes.

I have a new macbook pro. I'm seeing my wife's iphone contacts on my icloud. I can't figure out how to get my iphone contacts synced up with my new macbook and get rid of her contacts. Suggestions?

Can't figure out how to remove select music from my iPhone 4 with the new iTunes

My old PC with all my music on iTunes died, and I need to remove some music from my iPhone 4 to make room for the new OS update. I downloaded iTunes on a different computer and tried to sync the iPhone to it, to move all the music on my iPhone to iTunes so I could deselect what songs I wanted to remove to make the storage space. I can't figure out how to do this with the new (non-user-friendly) iTunes update. When I sync the phone, the only songs that show up are the ones I have purchased on iTunes, but non of the songs/albums that I transfered from CDs. I don't want to reset my phone to delete ALL my music, just select songs/albums. Can anyone please help me figure out the new iTunes to be able to do this? It is driving me nuts and I'm getting really mad at Apple for their constant updates making things less easy to use!

New to Photoshop;Viewing TV and want to save to MY Library to view later. Can't figure out how to save. When I open or click on My Library it shows I need to sign in and within a few seconds it shows my sign in but nothing changes on page.

Those are the instructions for your computer's iTunes (i.e. using the Store menu at the top of your computer's iTunes and selecting 'View My Account' on it). If you are doing it on your iPad then are you following the instructions for iOS devices :
To unhide your purchases
Depending on the content type, open the App Store, iBooks, or iTunes Store on your device.
Scroll to the bottom of the main page.
If you're not already signed in, tap Sign In.
Tap your Apple ID name, then tap View Account.
Scroll down on the Account pane, and tap Hidden Purchases.
Locate the item you would like to unhide then tap the Unhide button.

Can't work out how to stop Mac mail from Forwarding to GMail account.

Okay. This is on behalf of my sister. For whatever reason, when emails are sent to her @mac.com address they get forwarded to her GMail account and deleted from her @mac.com address. So they never appear in her @mac.com inbox. She now wants this relationship to stop and wants to delete her GMail account due to hacking fears and use the @mac.com address as it was intended, but between us we can not figure out where the setting that is doing the forwarding and deleting command it set. I thought I had nailed it when I hit upon the "Rules" section in OS Mail preferences, but there was nothing in there. I then thought it might be a setting on her GMail account, but they are all standard as well.
So is there some place I'm not looking in either OS Mail or on me.com, or some place else that contains this type of forwarding commands that I'm clearly missing.

One thought I had was if I deleted her Mac account from OS Mail and re-built it, would that start everything from scratch???

Managed to solve this myself. Yeah.
It was a Mobile Me setting.
log on to me.com in an internet browser. Then select the preferences option under actions in the Mail area and select other, and in there you'll find forwarding options.... what a ball ache to find it though. Its not very clear at all. If u have a similar problem, then I suggest logging into me.com and do a search for forwarding and you'll find what you need straight away.

I can't figure out how to get my contacts from my phone onto my mac book pro

i just got a mac book pro and am trying to use icloud but i just cant figure it out. i've downloaded the newest versions of everything and authorized the computer and everything that i've been told to do, but i still cant figure out how to sync my contacts to the MBP. HELP?

Do your contacts appear at http://www.iCloud.com after signing in?

Can anyone figure out how to stop OZmail on my LG Revolution? I've received 765 OZmail texts since early April!,

I have called Verizon weekly and sometimes twice weekly to keep on getting my problem resolved and even was promised that a supervisor named Pamela would call me back but fat chance in getting a call back. Pamela has been a no call. I am getting an OZmail about every 3 to 5 minutes right now as I'm typing this. Also, this didn't even start be ause I changed phones. I've had my LG Revolution since last June and all was well until early April 2012 when the OZs started. Someone suggested a factory reset but also said it wasn't a sure fix and my beef is that it's a huge inconvenience to me when it's Verizon's fault this all started. Can someone please help me??? I'm ready to dump this phone and Verizon too for their ignoring my pleas for help.

dont do a factory reset
call back and get tech support, ask them if they are a vendor if they are call back
tell them you are having ozmail notifcations.. its like 3 buttons to click to unregister you, not sure why you are having so many issues with verizon to undo this
Its your old mail system trying to send you a msg. So everytime you get an email you get a notification. On your old device it used a system called oz mail, basic phone, not supported on android
Just call back be calm, its a simple fix once you get someone who knows what they are doing

I can't figure out how to transfer my music from my ipod to my itunes

i need help transfering my music from my 2nd gen ipod touch to my itunes account. i don't have the original account anymore but i do have a new one on my laptop with no music on it. i want to put the music in the new account so i can put it on my 4th gen ipod touch and i've talked to people from best buy many times and they are no help, i can't get it working. help please

You have to authorize the computer for the account that purchased the music and then use the Trasfer Purchases optin iTunes. At this time one can't combine iTunes accounts.

Can't figure out how to download my pictures from PC to phone

I've got my pic's on Picasa and I sign into my Gmail and they are there but when I try to download them to my phone it just say's no albums found. Frustrating. I've been trying different things all day. Is there another way to do this?

PICASA itself runs on your PC and manages the pictures that are stored on your PC.
To share these pictures with your phone then set up PICASA web albums and place the pictures to share in them.
Now when your Google account is synced on your phone it will find the pictures in your web album
Also make sure PICASA is checked as being synced with Google on the phone.

Project (movie) not showing up in trash when I delete it from iMovie (version 10.0.4). Thus, I can't figure out how to permanently delete it from the hard drive. I'm running out of hard drive space fast! Any ideas?

It's an iMovie Library file that you need to search for. By default iMovie Library files are in the Movies folder.

Has anyone figured out how to stop the 1022 from killing the spooler?

It used to be that when I'd print a PPT the spooler would crash and then none of my devices/printers worked. I never happened when the 1022 was unplugged.
Now, the 1022 kills the spooler as soon as I install it. I've see a number of discussions but no solution yet. I could really use some help.
