Can't find Boot Camp on updated MacBook

Hi all,
I bought a new black MacBook today - the updated model. Either I'm crazy or Boot Camp is not installed. It's not in the Utilities folder, Spotlight can't find it, and it's nowhere to be found on Apple's website.
I looked on the CDs to see if I could install it separately, but it's not listed as a bundled app, and I don't want to launch the MacOS X restore app on a new computer.
Could someone please check their system and confirm if it's there or not?
Thanks.

Here are the results.
I copied Boot Camp 2.0 from my retail install of Leopard that was in the Utilities folder.
It ran fine on the new Macbook
2.0 does not create a CD, like the 1.4 beta Boot Camp did.
The Windows drivers ARE on the Macbook Disk 1 CD.
It's a good idea to read the Boot Camp instructions
The Windows partition has to be formatted from the XP install CD.
To eject the XP CD before the Boot Camp drivers are installed, plug in a USB mouse or
1 Eject the Windows installation disc.
a Go to My Computer.
b Select the optical drive (D:).
c Click “Eject this disk” in the System Tasks list.
In XP's Device Manager, there were no devices without drivers (no red or yellow circles).
All seems well (so far)

  • Can't find Boot Camp on my leopard install DVD

I upgraded to leopard when it came out. I have the leopard DVD install disc. I can not find Boot Camp to install it. I also can not find the boot camp install assistant on my computer or on the disk. Please help, I need to install xp badly and ASAP! Thanks

So the DVD you inserted is the iMac install Disc 1? When I type in the "/Volumes/Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Installation/Packages/" nothing happens.... I see you are using an earlier OS 10.4.
As you can see I using 10.5.2 on my new iMac
    Can you help

  • Can't find boot camp 3.1 dmg

I'm having a lot of problems installing windows 7 on my mac.  I've got the boot camp but it says I need to get boot camp 3.1.  Right now I have some 2 version.  I've looked all around and I can only find book camp 3.1 exe - what good is an exe file on a mac?  I installed windows 7 but it restarted and said push any key to continue, I did that and nothing happened.

Not. IF you upgrade from Vista there is an error for ANY computer, PCs as well:
Boot Camp: "0x80070005" appears when upgrading from Vista to Windows 7
That is what that link refers to which is an additional problem that happens 70-80% into the install.
And at the bottom it refers back to the "black screen issue":
    Additional Information
When installing Windows 7 on an iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) using Boot Camp, a black screen may appear.  This can happen because the Windows 7 installer does not include the necessary graphics or Bluetooth drivers for your Mac. See iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) displays a black screen during installation of Windows 7 using Boot Camp for more information.
There is a problem as well for clean custom install too.
This can happen because the Windows 7 installer does not include the necessary graphics or Bluetooth drivers for your Mac.

  • Mac Won't Boot after Boot Camp Windows Update - Macbook Pro Mid 2010

Hello All, and thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
I have a Mid 2010 Macbook Pro. Last year I upgraded the RAM, then this year I decided to upgrade the hard drive to an SSD-hybrid. Everything went perfectly smoothly with both upgrades, and I was a happy camper.
I had also installed Boot Camp with Windows 7 and everything worked perfectly. Then last night, I boot in to Windows 7 and it gives me a 'service pack update'. After installing it, I had to reboot my computer. Rebooted it and it accidently started booting OSX. No problem, I thought. I held down the power button, and booted back in to Windows. The service pack installation continued and it had me restart my computer an obscene amount of times during the installation. This is when I initially thought "this is weird".
Finally the service pack installs, and I'm able to use Windows 7 again. Then I shut down the machine and tried to boot back into OSX. No dice.
Here's how the OSX booting process goes:
First, the Apple logo appears, then what appears to be a progressive loading bar at the bottom. After a few seconds, the loading bar disappears. Then it's just at the Apple booting screen with the spinning wheel/gear and sits there indefinitiely. I let it sit there for over an hour last night and nothing happened.
Any suggestions? I tried resetting the NVRAM and the SMC.
    Thanks so much,
    dlevv

It looks like a hard disk problem. Press Command and R keys on boot, open Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar and repair your drive

  • Can't find Boot Camp

    Hi everyone!
I bought my MacBook in November and, until now, have had no occasion to use Boot Camp.
I went to search for it today and cannot find it anywhere on my MacBook and do now know where to find it either on my hard drive, MacOSX CD, or online for download.
How do I get BootCamp? Wasn't it supposed to be included on my new MacBook??
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I had the same trouble when boot-camping a friend's macbook. couldn't find it on any of the disks, but but it is actually there. what you must do is insert the OS X install disk 1, and then go to this web page : http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/33420 ,download the little helper program, install it, and bob's your uncle... it will find BootCamp on your install disk and install it. Bootcamp can then be found in your Applications/Utilities folder
hope it works for you as it did for me!

It is difficult to understand your issue from your discription. I have three suggestions.
    1. Visit the Boot Camp forum. You posted in the Mac Book Pro forum about your Boot Camp issue. The Boot Camp gurus hang out in the Boot Camp form. https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp
    2. Read the Boot Camp installation guide. http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_10.7.pdf
    3. Do not post personal information such as phone numbers in public forums.

  • Can't find boot camp 3.1

I have an iMac with boot camp 3.0 its saying in order to install windows 7 I need boot camp 3.1 but all the boot camp 3.1 updates say in requirements i need windows XP. I have no windows programs. Do I need to buy windows XP first just to update to boot camp 3.1?

Of course, they are of no use until you have Windows running, AND you have to have installed BC 3.0.
You don't even really need Mac OS to install and run Windows 7 on a Mac. You do need those 3.x drivers though to support motherboard and hardware devices and drivers once 7 is finished installing and current.
Go back and re-read the guide in Boot Camp Assistant or from here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp
look for the pdf file to download and you can print it out or just read, has a lot in there. And step #1: backup first.

  • Can't find Boot Camp Setup Assistant, PowerBook G4

I have upgraded to Leopard 10.5.1 via the installation disc and then downloaded and installed the combo upgrade 10.5.4. However, I can't find the Boot Camp Setup Assistant in the Applications Folder.
Is the Boot Camp Setup Assistant automatically installed from the installation disc or does it need to be loaded from "optional installs" on the installation disc?

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
if your signature is still correct (Powerbook !) than you can't find the BootCamp Assistant on it.
The BCA is only installed (and useable) on Intel-Macs, not on PPC-Macs like your Powerbook.
    Sorry

Did you repartition the drive? Or are you referring to the application, Boot Camp Assistant?

  • VMware can't find Boot Camp

I recently reinstalled Leopard on my MBP. I erased the Macintosh HD partition in the process, installed Leopard from DVD, pull my stuff from TM backup and everything was back to normal. Except when I try and launch Windows with VMware Fusion there is the Boot Camp partition in the list of virtual machine, but when I click on it to run it, it says it the Boot Camp Partition.vmdk has been moved and it wants me to locate it. When I try and launch Windows with Boot Camp itself during the computer startup it works just fine. Any help?

  • After updating windows 8, I can't find boot camp.

Now how can i restart iMac for Mac os?

    Startup Manager Option
    Startup keys Intel Macs
and you can try zap PRAM
    Apple Support Safari
    Safari Windows
    Safari
    Lion OS X Communities
You can uninstall extenstions, turn off plug-ins.
On Windows you need to use some form of reliable malware prevention but nothing can stop human error.
and you might want to give your son a standard, non-admin account for Windows and Mac OS

  • Can't get Boot Camp to run since updates

I did all the updates as a good Apple user now I find I cannot boot up my Windows disc. When I restart computer holding option key the screen goes white and nothing happens. What should I do?

Something appears to have not installed correctly when the "updates" were installed. Can you tell me which updates did you installed before the issues began? Was Windows already working normally prior to the updates? By the way, which version of windows did you install?
Meanwhile see if you can do the following:
right after you hear the startup sound press and hold the ALT (Option) key until a menu appears on the screen.
It should let you choose between Mac OS and Windows.
Choose Mac OS and press Enter or click the little arrow below it to start into Mac OS.
Once you are in Mac OS choose System Preferences from the Apple Menu and go to Startup Disk. Choose your Mac OS volume there to make your computer auto start from that volume next time.
Close the menu again and you are done.
You can use the Boot Camp assistant to delete your Windows partition, recreate it and reinstall Windows afterwards if the windows installation never worked right in the first place.

  • HT5639 Can I use Boot Camp to install Linux on my MacBook Pro?

Can I use Boot Camp to install Linux on my MacBook Pro?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Boot Camp wasn't designed to install Linux. Apart from that, the Boot Camp version included in OS X Mountain Lion will ask you to insert a Windows 7 or Windows 8 DVD in order to run Boot Camp, as far as I know.
Apple doesn't support Linux on Macs, but it works properly on Macs. There are a lot of how-to's in the Internet about the steps to install Linux and the different possibilities you have. Also, what distribution do you want to install on the computer? You should also consider the option to install Linux on a virtual machine
