Can't find iTunes after download

I downloaded iTunes app using Internet Explorer to my MacBook Pro while running windows XP under BootCamp. After it downloaded I could not find it on my hard drive. A friend running Windows 7 on his PC had similar problems. The Run option was not available to him when downloading and after saving iTunes to his hard drive he couldn't find it either.
Has anybody else run into this? Is there a fix?
Thanks.

I have faced such kind of issue while downloading iTunes it says thank you for downloading tunes but it does not get downloaded not sure why that happens but you can download iTunes from "filehippo" just search for filehippo on google and go to www.filehippo.com and from there in the search box search for iTunes and download iTunes 32 bit or 64 bit according to your windows version. You can find windows version by right click on My Computer and then Properties.

  • Solved: can't install iTunes after download

    Hi all,
I like to share my experience of iTunes installation, since I took almost a week to figure out a solution for my problem, hopefully will help someone else with it!
I have a standard Windows XP Pro SP2 machine, and just got a new iPod. I went on Apple web site and downloaded iTunes 7.1.1 but after downloading ok, all attempts to run the dowloaded program resulted in nothing. No message, no warning, no error. Just nothing.
I donwloaded iTunes about 5 times before deciding I had a real problem!
Than I went on Apple support web page http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976 did everything listed there but no success.
Given I had a previous Quicktime installation, I edited the win registry and manually removed all key referring to quicktime or Apple. No luck again.
I searched the net for hours and found reference to a possible corrupted windows installer program, so I run a "sfc /scannow" from a dos prompt to double check my installation but everything was fine.
I also did check spyware and viruses with three different programs to be double sure of no malware around.
Than I started thinking it was an issue related to my PC and used a separate laptop to download iTunes again but had exactly the same issue, even trying to install it on the laptop itself!
I gave it a try downloading a previous version (6.x) thinking of a possible issue with the new release but no success. The only difference was 6.x reported installation files to be corrupted, so I smelled it could really be a download issue.
Finally I tried to download iTunes from another web site, not Apple, and ... bingo! Everything worked fine and got it installed.
I still can't figure out what exactly was the problem. It may be some issue related to my network/firewall/isp settings and the Apple dowload service. I would have serious difficulties in explaining it, but you read the entire story.
Again, I hope someone will save time and pain by reading this...
    Ciao
    Diego
    Windows XP Pro

Thankz Milan I'm going to give this a go right now.

  • Can't find program after downloading

I just installed Firefox browser a few days ago. Downloaded one music file today - worked fine, went right to my Windows Media player. All I did was click 'download" next to the song. A window popped up in the top corner of my browser showing the setup.exe file but I didn't have to click on it or anything. Just went to my Windows Media Player and it was there. There I went to Google Earth and downloaded that. I made sure when I was downloading to "unclick" where it said to use their "Chrome" browser, etc., accepted the terms & then hit "download". I notice that I didn't get a choice to "save" or "run" the file like you do with Internet Explorer. The only choice it gave was "run" or "cancel". So I clicked run. When it was done I went to my "Downloads" and clicked on the GoogleEarth.setup.exe file and again it just said "Run". It showed it was downloading (got that "green" line), then it said it was downloaded and "Thanks". However, I could not find it in my Programs, not even when I did a search. I then went to Control Panel/Uninstall Programs and it was there. It shows that I have it, but even when I try to find it under "RUN" I get the Windows Message that the file can't be found. What's wrong?
I have Windows 7 . I'm not sure which "Plug Ins" I have. Can this be the problem? What Plug ins should I have? Where do I find the ones I have? As I said I just installed Firefox 2 days ago, so it should be current.

    slykid 98,
First off, do you have a Fifth Generation iPod? Only Fifth Gens can play the games from the iTunes Store (not Nanos, or any other type of iPod).
If you do have a Fifth Generation iPod, then is it upgraded to at least 1.2 firmware? (the latest is 1.2.1; it's recommended to install that, since it's the latest, as opposed to 1.2).
To see what version of firmware you have on your iPod, you can look at it through the "Summary" page in iTunes, or, go to "Settings > About" on your iPod.

  • TS2363 Help can't open iTunes after download

I was able to download iTunes, but when I click on it I receive: Do you want to allow the following program to make changes? Program name Apple. When I select Yes, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue. I was able to use iTunes to rent a movie, watch the movie, and since then, it shuts down less than 10 seconds after start up. Is there something wrong with the newest version of iTunes?
Can anyone tell me why iTunes is shutting down automatically and what can i do to fix it?

  • Can't open itunes after downloading latest update

After installing latest ITunes update, the ITunes Store doesn't open.  Additionally, the Apple Device Manager program tries to run in the background consuming 50% of my CPU while never doing anything.  I have tried the Netsh Winsock reset, and I have tried removing all the Apple programs (in order) after updating Windows.  Actully I have tried both things multiple times over the past few weeks, and yet I still have the same problem.  ITunes Store does nothing, and I have to end the process for Apple Device Manager.  I have tried to remove the device manager program, but it still locks out the store. I have tried going to a restore point only to find that the Library file is not recognizable.
I am not sure if it is an issue, but the latest download (10.5) mentions 64 Bit, while my windows 7 operating system is a 32 bit (not sure what that means, but thought I would throw it out there).
Any other suggestions are deeply appreciated!

Just to point out that there is another thread on this subject and Apple are on the case:

  • Can't find file after downloading on vista

The download box appears and completes download, but the file doesn't appear in the folder I chose.

    DH:
After capture was complete, got message saying done, or some such (I forget the exact message). Then the icon which I had previously named in the capture dialog box appeared in the designated bin, but had a red slash through it. On other occasions, I have successfully captured video files from my camcorder; seems to be the same result: capturing ends, the capture screen disappears, it says 'done' or something, the icon appears in the bin, but there's no slash????
In using the Capture window I have followed the FCE manual to the letter (I think!). Put in in and out times, named reel, name, description.... cued up the camcorder to just before the 'in'
time, hit Capture clip button; screen appears, videocam starts, capture progresses.
In the past I have used Capture NOW to do entire tape. That has worked. Am I mis-using the capture clip technique?
    Thanks

I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes to my PC (windows XP) and I keep getting an error message or two. One is that it can't uninstall the previous itunes version, the other is that it can't find itunes.msi. I have tried removing  the old version in add/remove programs, but it says the same error. I tried deleting every thing that has itunes in the file/folder/etc and it didn't help.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

You will need to Upgrade to Snow Leopard to get a Compatible version of iTunes to Sync your Device.
    Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
    Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
    Snow Leopard Tech Specs

If so... Purchase a Snow Leopard Install Disc...

After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

  • Where Can I Find iTunes 10.1 (or slightly higher) To Download??

Where can I find iTunes 10.1 (or slighter higher) to download?
    I have a G4 iMac running 10.4.11 and iTunes 9.2
I have got a iPhone 3g which requires iTunes 10.1 or greater to be able to sync.
I cannot d/l the latest iTunes as it requires OS10.5 and my system will only support up to OS10.4.11
So I need a version  of iTunes 10.1 which hopefully will work with 10.4.11
    Many thanks.....

You won't. Tiger will only run iTunes 9.2.1 or lower.  You will need to upgrade your operating system to Leopard or higher to run iTunes 10.
I am not sure about your system only supporting up to Tiger  -- I've seen reports about people running Leopard on even the oldest G4 Macs.  To get more information about your computer, go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).

  • I tried downloading iTunes to my computer. It gives me an error where it says can not find iTunes Helper. I uninstalled all iTunes, restarted my computer, and then tried again. I keep getting the same error everyime. What can I do?

I tried downloading iTunes to my computer. It gives me an error where it says can not find iTunes Helper. I uninstalled all iTunes, restarted my computer, and then tried again. I keep getting the same error everyime. What can I do?

Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes.  Please uninstall iTunes,  then install iTunes again.  Error 2 (Windows error 2).
Many thanks. That issue will be causing the iTuneshelper error message too.
With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version). If the following link takes you to the WinRAR home page rather than the WinRAR downloads page, click the Downloads header in the box at the left of the WinRAR home page to see the trial version downloads:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Where can I find iTunes download for Windows 7 Starter?

Hi, Where can I find iTunes download for Windows 7 Starter?

There is no version of iTunes specifically for the Starter edition of Windows. You can try the standard iTunes installation:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
but verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements first. Many devices that come with Starter such as netbooks do not, particularly the screen resolution.
