Can't Find My Pictures Folder in Bridge after upgrading to CS5

Can't see My Picture folder after upgrading to CS5. See My Videos, My Favorites, My Music. I must have something I need to enable in View.
Checked Preferences and My Pictures is check in Preferences.
Can see all my picture files just fine when I plug in my external drive with the files all brought it by date.
Thanks.

If you mean My Pictures it is on the C drive.
I have four internal and two external drives and all picture files show up in Bridge for immediate access except the My Pictures folder under my name on the main drive.
There is only one partition on the drive and there is 350 gb free space.
The set up, programmes, security software and drives are identical to when I was using CS5 with Vista, which is why I am thinking it is something to do with Win 7.

  • Won't sync...says it can't find my pictures folder

I have a my pictures folder on the harddrive and one in the library of Itunes but it won't sync up...tells me it can't find the my pictures folder. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks.

    Try these steps listed below.
    1. Run “c:\WINDOWS\system32\devmgmt.msc” (i.e. *Device Manager*), and leave it open for now for later use
    2. Start up iTunes
    3. Next, connect your iPod.
    4. Go to your iPod Settings and select the “Enable disk use” option from under the Summary tab.
    5. A dialog box will pop up reminding you that you’ll need to manually eject. Go ahead and hit OK
    6. Hit Apply to save changes to the iPod
    7. Quickly switch to the Device Manager window and right-click on any item within the window and select “Scan for hardware changes”
    8. Finally, switch back to iTunes, and try re-syncing your iPod to see if it helped.
    Any luck there?

  • I can't find my pictures on my iphone after the update.

After my recent update on my iphone 4 ,I can't find about half of my pictues and video .

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera, especially before installing an iOS update. The Camera Roll is for temporary storage. Photos/videos imported from the Camera Roll can be transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync/transfer process.

  • Can't find networked macs or pc's after upgrade to Tiger

After upgrading from 10.3.9 to Tiger 10.4.6 I can no longer access networked machines.
The following message appears when I double click on an alias under network,
The alias could not be opened because the original item could not be found.
I did the simple upgrade option when installing.

Unfortunately, Tiger has broken Appletalk as far as Appletalk goes...
"Mac OS X 10.4 and later don't support Personal File Sharing (or other AFP) over Appletalk, though by initiating the connection from the opposite direction you could still achieve an IP connection from a Mac OS 8 computer to a sharing Mac OS X computer. The Network preference pane in Mac OS X 10.4 and later still offers the AppleTalk checkbox, but it is for browsing AppleTalk-advertised resources and zones. The subsequent connection must be over TCP/IP."

One of the 200+ reasons I still use 10.3.9 or less for serious work!
I am able to connect the two in Tiger>OS9 or OS9>Tiger, but can only read files one way or the other... writing either way will freeze the OS9 machine, and the Tiger machine says that Share has disappeared after BeachBall 'o' Death.

  • 7.6 can't find any songs in my library after upgrade

After I upgraded to 7.6 and iTunes "updated my iTunes library", every single song (over 10,000) in my almost full 60gb iPod library turned up with the dreaded exclamation point, meaning that iTunes couldn't find the files. They are in the same place they were before I upgraded. I tried the "shift" - open thing so I could tell it where the library file was but that didn't work. I salvaged things by reinstalling the old version of iTunes along with the old .itl file (which I had thankfully saved elsewhere). But I was thinking about upgrading to an iPod Classic, which requires iTunes 7.6. Does this mean I will have to recreate my entire library all over from scratch on the new iPod?

I finally got around to messing with this problem again. I had already done what you suggested twice with no luck, but I tried it again today. Once again, after iTunes "updated the library", all songs had exclamation points. I tried copying and pasting the old .itl file, reopening iTunes, but it again "updated the library" and the same thing happened. However, this time I tried closing iTunes and opening it up again, and everything seemed to be fine! Don't know why it was telling me it couldn't find my songs before I did that. Since I've had iTunes lose songs for no apparent reason before, I've gotten so paranoid that I've got my entire library backed up on TWO external hard drives! Thanks for your help.

  • CS5 Bridge can't find my "Documents" folder

I'm running CS5 on Windows 7 64 bit, downloaded after purchase, if that makes any difference.
"My Documents" is available from the Favoritestab in Bridge, but I can't find My Documents or Documents anywhere in the "Folders" tab, which I would rather use, since its faster to browse a multilevel folder system this way.
I know that My Documents doesn't really exist in Windows 7 and it's more like a mirrored folder or something to help with compatibility, so I wasn't too surprised that it didn't exist in the Folders tab, but usually I can find Documents under C:/Users/MyName/Documents, but that folder doesn't show up either.
Does anyone else have this problem?  Any ideas what might be causing it?

(Repost from "Can't Find My Pictures Folder in Bridge..." with corrections after further testing)
Holy SMOKES, I think I have an ANSWER - or at least enough of one so you can find your "My Pictures" folder.
I've been able to see my account's "My Pictures" folder with Bridge since I started using CS5 in December 2010. For some reason when I started using it again today (Aug. 7, 2011) I could not see it in the Folders panel any more.
My Account's root folder used to appear in the Folders panel under the Desktop folder in the tree. From there I could unfold the tree to the "My Pictures" folder under my account root and off we'd go. Then it wasn't there any more. Despite this I could click on the folder path breadcrumbs field in the upper left corner of the Bridge window and paste the path and see it, and even set it as a Favorite that I could double click in the Favorites panel, but it would not display in the Folders panel. WTF?
What I found was that in my previous session in Bridge I had unchecked the "Show Hidden Files" option in the View menu of Bridge. Once I checked that option again I was able to see my account's root folder under the Desktop folder in the Folders Panel.
So if you can no longer see "My Documents" or "My Pictures" in your Folders panel, go to the View menu and check the "Show Hidden Files" option. It's a good bet you will suddenly see your Account folder show up under the Desktop as soon as you do it.
(Note that I still cannot not find my account when I use the Folder panel to navigate to the C:\Users folder. When i go in that way all I can see is the Public folder. I think it's always been like that, as if Adobe cannot keep up with the latest Windows OS changes. Be that as it may, by checking "Show Hidden Files" you can at least get to your "My Pictures" with the Folders panel by going down from the Desktop node.)

  • Can't find the pictures after moving the library to EHD

I followed the instructions of moving the iphoto library to the external HD. I created an alias and moved it to the Pictures folder. I opened IPhoto and I can see all the events and thumbnails, however when I try to open any picture and I get the message that the picture is not found. I guess is that the picture files are located outside the library. the library has the pointers to the old folders....
I have 17000 pictures, how can I find each of them?
I tried opening IPhoto with the "option" key pressed and choosing the library in the EHD. I get the same result. I can see all the events and thumbnails but It can't find the pictures.
    Message was edited by: calfon1

Did you try opening and checking the validity of your library before you copied it back to the EHD? By not finding some of the photos do you mean you get the "!" window when you double click on a thumbnail?
If so then try the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in the User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
    Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select options #1 and #6.
If all else fails create a new empty library on the EHD and do the following: sart over with a new library and import the Originals folder from your original library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
    1. Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
    2. Open the library package like this.
    3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    4. Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.
Then you can compare the number of photos between this library and the other to see if either is more complete.

  • Can't find the plugin folder to add jar file

I installed Adobe Drive 4 in Mac. I want to have our own specified Drive Connector, so I had been trying to put the jar file in the plugin folder, but I didn't even find the plugin folder.
I am using Mac, so I know I should put the file in:
    In Mac OS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/AD4ServiceManager
    In Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\AD4ServiceManager
But I can't find the plugin folder there,
    Could anyone please help me?

  • Where can I find my picture files in the finder?

I download iPhoto with another person's account, so I never could update the new versions; because I don't know the password, and the person cannot enter to the account anymore. Now apple doesn't let me open iPhoto, because the version is too old, 9.2.1 to be exclaty.  Where can I find my picture files in the finder, so I can export them and save them?

There should be an iPhoto Library in the Users> "user account" > Pictures folder.
You may also try to see about finding them through the user finder window where it says search for 'all images.'
Not sure about the rest of that situation.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Where can i find the pictures from massager?

Hello, i have a little problem, i can't find my imassanger pictures in a folder or sth else. Where can i find the pictures?
    Thanks for help:)

It takes a few steps but it's doable.
Start with the contact. Tap edit. Tap edit under the photo. Tap edit photo in the window that opens, take a screen shot. Tap outside of the photo, tap done.
Now we go to Camera Roll.  Choose the screen shot you just took. Tap edit. Put two fingers on the photo and separate them to enlarge it. Take another screen shot. Squeeze the photo back to normal size.
    Your photo is ready.
Why they don't just save the contact photo in the first place I'll never know.

  • Can't find my pictures in iphoto

Helllo, I am new to the iMac and having some start up problems. I use photoshop cs4 for photo editing and I just edited a pic. I want to access it in iPhoto now but I can't find the picture. I try to import the new pic but it tells me it is already in the library. I go to search and type the filename and it doesn;t find anything This is really frustrating can someone help me?
    Thanks
    Kris

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Below is the correct way to use Photoshop with iPhoto:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
The photos you've already edited with Photoshop are in the library but iPhoto doesn't know they are there. Also since they are inside the library package iPhoto assumes they have already been imported and won't import again.
If you can find just those photos you edited with PS and don't show up in iPhoto and move them to the desktop you can import them. However, do not rename, move or otherwise change the contents of the iPhoto library from the Finder. That is the cardinal sin if iPhotol

  • Itunes can't find my music folder

I can't install Itunes....it downloads fine from the exe file but when i try to open itunes it gives me the error msg that it can't find My Music folder. I went to the support page and it told me that if i couldn't find My Music folder to create one in My documents and download/install Tweak UI. I did and followed all the steps except when it asks me to click on My computer, then special folder and can't find the My Music folder to move it. I am using Windows XP....Please help. Has anyone ever had this problems?

    I finally found a solution here: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-xp-support/983948.htm
it's stupid, you have to hold down the shift key while you open iTunes (don't just hold it while you click, keep holding it until iTunes actually shows the library dialog).
