Can't get Java (JRE8U45) to work on IE11

Hello, I must be missing something simple here but I have been unable to get any page requiring Java to load in Internet Explorer 11, at least on machines running Windows 7. I have tried it with multiple machines, all fully patched and up to date and can
not even get the Java Version Check page to load, I am just told that Java is disabled or not installed. The latest version of chrome, will load Java pages on the same machines (after enabling the npapi plugin flag).
IE tells me the plugins are incompatible if I run it normally, if I right click it and run it as an Administrator, then it allows me to enable the plugins but the Java Version Check site still tells me they are not installed. I have tried running the version
check in compatibility mode as well as regular mode and in either case I can just not get these plugins to work.
Can anyone point me in the direction of what I might be missing here?

Hi Roark,
There are GPOs used to control script approved behaviors including JAVA script, the policy settings for controlling URL Actions are available in both the Computer Configuration and the User Configuration nodes of Group Policy Object Editor, in Administrative
Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Security Page
Relevant Group policy object could be found in article below (checked on Windows server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2)

  • Can't get java.sh to work....

I created the java.sh file, put it in etc/profile.d/ and made it executable. Still not working... If I run the identical commands in the java.sh from the prompt, then it works.. Any ideas??
Also, how do I specify multipl jar locations in the CLASSPATH? (ie. current directory + 2 other locations)
    HELP!!!

I put the code into another file in profile.d, and it
    worked.
So what's the problem?Maybe /etc/profile (through which files in /etc/profile.d are found and executed) isn't doing it for some reason.
Sounds most like it's a permissions problem on the java.sh file to me. The file will need to be owned by root and executable by all. However, with the current information available I can't give you a 100% accurate answer.

  • Can't  get Java 6 to work correctly

I am probably in the wrong place here, and for that I apologize. We use a program at our school called Power School. In order to enter student marks, one accesses a page which is generated by Java. Since I purchased this new computer, I have been unable to access the gradebook.

    Best of luck.

I can't get java to work with Firefox on my mac with OS 10.6.8. I did everything suggested and still no luck. Java is installed, enabled, and updated. I can't even activate java per site because I don't get the "click here to activate" box for some reason. Apple support said it's a firefox problem and they can't help me. I need to be able to use java!

hello, please update firefox to the latest version & your OS to 10.6.8.

    Hi Sister Kate,
If you change the Apple ID you are using on an iPhone or other iOS device, there are several places you need to change it on the device. See this article -

Will not work.  To my knowledge, dual converting like that isn't supported.  The Mac must detect the connected video output device and that sort of info cannot be done across an analog component uni-directional connection.

The standard arch kernel includes all the required modules, at most you need to load them explicitly listing them in MODULES in /etc/rc.conf
You need also the hw specific stuff, that is i915 and intelagp. Check lsmod and see if they are loaded. If they are not, inspect dmesg and see if udev tries to load them and fails for some reason.
I remember some cases where intelagp and i915 are not loaded by udev in the right order, if this is your case you can try to list them in the right order in MODULES.
There should be no need to recompile the kernel or to install a particular version of dri (just use the arch packages for mesa, libdrm etc; but I guess you have them already)

  • Can't get video chat to work outside of LAN...

    Hello,
I can't get video chat to work.
All computers, LAN and WAN are running the latest iChat under 10.4 (including latest updates).
Within our LAN, via Bonjour, everything is fine.
I'm now trying to set up an offsite Intel iMac (10.4) and I can't connect via video chat with them.
I've had this problem in the past and eventually gave up (so much for "it just works" - I've spent the last 10+ years dealing with Macs and Mac-based networking, I can't imagine "my dad" figuring this all out). Trying again with fingers crossed...?
If someone could help, it'd be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

This router has a static IP.
All suggested ports on the SonicWall are set up correctly to allow in/out from our LAN.
All computers on the LAN have static IP addresses.
Quicktime streaming settings set as suggested.
OS X Firewall on all computers = OFF.
No iChat add-ons on any computers.
    Internet connection speed = 7404 kb/s
    The offside router/firewall is a LinkSys WRT54G
This router does not have a static IP.
DMZ is ON and set to the only computer connected to it.

Does the TZ170 have UPnP or Port Triggering then ?
I can not see that it does here
Opening the ports in the manner listed on that link will only allow one computer (IP) to use the open ports.
The Linksys is router and you have not mentioned what the modem is doing at that end.
Why not use UPnP here ? The Linksys does it (on the Administration page)
Most likely this needs the Respond to Anonymous Pings checked on the Security page.

  • My "Hanging with Friends" app keeps crashing whenever I try to open it. I have deleted and re-downloaded the app, restarted my iPhone, and even restored my iPhone all together, and nothing is working. How can I get this app to work again?

Can you start Firefox in [[Safe mode]] ?
You can also do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

  • After upgrading to Lion can't get Boot Camp to work! Just get "startup dusk cannot be portioned or restored to a single partition"?

After upgrading to Lion can't get Boot Camp to work! Just get "The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition". Anytone?

This message, and threads like yours got asked daily for over two years, now it is only a couple times a week!!
Is it so hard to follow through? you were to have backup already, clones are best, then erase/format and restore.
    Then partition.
Some have been able to use Disk Utility booted from OS X DVD or another drive, and repair the drive.
You have to use Boot Camp Assistant (99.9% anyway) to create and achieve a proper Windows Master Boot Record partition.

  • I recently transferred my ipnone service from at&t to another carrier the phone worked fine until i tried to up it with itunes i now have a frozen itunes logo and a plug on the screens my phone is a iphone 3g how can i get my phone to work again?

my ipone 3g is frozen with aitunes logo and plug after i tried to update it from apple. the phone worked fine even thou i changed carriers from at&t to Simple celleur. How can i get my phone to work?

As AT&T has not officially unlocked your phone it must have been hacked to use another carrier.  So when you updated it has relocked itself to AT&T. There is no official unlock so this will happen anytime you update.

  • Only one of my earbuds on my bose headphones works with my ipad, iphone and macbook- if I hold them there the right earbud will work, but for the life of me, I can't get them to both work. Why is this? And is Apple doing anything about this?

Why is this? And is Apple doing anything about this? While Apple's headphones have (finally) admittedly gotten better of late, I still prefer the much more comfortable headphones & sound quality that Bose makes and that I spent the money for.
