Can't get past "Welcome to Your New iPod" screen on iTunes!

I don't know how to get past the "Welcome to your new iPod" screen everytime I connect my iPod to my computer. Please help!

Same thing is happening to me. Its been happening for 2 1/2 weeks now. I think its because Itunes is down.

  • ITunes will not go past "Welcome to Your New iPhone" screen after multiple attempts of restoring old data of iPhone 5s.

    Hello,
I'm really sorry if this is posted in the wrong place...
So just yesterday, I decided to update my iPhone 5s to the new iOS, 8.1.1 but I did not have any room on my phone due to most of the storage being taken up by "other". I backed up my phone onto iTunes and proceeded to restore the phone to its factory settings. Aftewards, the new iOS was presumably loaded onto my phone through iTunes. When my phone restarted, I clicked "Restore from this backup" and continued. It reloads again and I open my phone and went through the settings. When I got back to what I normally saw, all of the apps but one were gone. My backgrounds, contacts, and photos were there, but my music was gone. I looked back onto iTunes and the "Welcome to Your New iPhone" screen was there again. I restored it to my back up once again, but to no avail. I can't get past the Welcome screen. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm afraid that if I restore again I'll lose the apps I reloaded onto my phone once again.

No. You have no alternative but to plug it into a computer running iTunes and restore it.

  • Can't get past the "Create Your Blackberry ID" screen when trying to set up email

I had a 9810 and pretty much wore it out.   My wife also had a 9810 that was in good shape and recently got a new phone.    I backed up my phone and wipe hers, swith the SIM cards and restored my data to her phone.   Everything works perfectly except the email.   I can see all the email that was transferred, but I can't send or receive any new email.
I figured I needed to go through the email set up.  In that process it wants me to create a blackberry ID.   I have filled otu the fiels numerous times and every it looks like it is going to go through and then it goes back to a screen where everything I just filled out is still there except it wants be to select a password and then confrim it a second time.   I do that again and it does the same thing again.   When I put a password in it telss me I have picked a "strong" one, but it just won't seem to stick and let me past this screen
All I really want to do is get my phone to send and received email, like I said I can see all the old emails that came over from my old phone in the data restore.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hello,
I recommend you contact AT&T's dedicated BB Support staff (call their front line, request escalation to BB Support) and have them check to be sure that your account with them is correctly configured for this device. Sometimes when switching devices things don't fully automatically move behind the scenes, and only they (ATT) can validate that.

  • HT1766 getting a welcome to your new iphone message when I try to back up an old phone

    Hi,
My iPhone stopped working earlier this year and I got it replaced with a new one at the Apple store. I haven't backed it up since. So, I'm trying to back up from my iTunes now and it gives me two options: 1) Set up as new iPhone, and 2) Restore from this backup (MY NAME iPhone). The second option says last backed up 2/20/12. Thing is, I don't remember ever backing up this iPhone. More importantly, I've taken many pictures and added many phone numbers since 2/20/12 and am afraid restoring will erase this.
I've never been a savvy iPhone user so hopefully someone can help advise me on how best to proceed.

I have a very similar problem. I have an iPhone 4 running an old iOS 4.2.1. I very recently upgraded to iTunes 11. I am not sure which version of iTunes I was running before, but it probably was not the most recent. I did not sync or do a backup, before upgrading to iTunes 11. After upgrading to iTunes 11, when I plug in my iPhone 4, I get a "Welcome to your New iPhone" screen. I only am presented with two options. 1.) Set up as new iPhone, or 2.) Restore from this backup: Unknown. Last Backed Up: 12/31/2000 7:00PM. There is a radio button to choose either option, and a Continue button. I am afraid to choose either option, because I'm afraid it will wipe my iPhone 4 clean.
It's odd because I don't think they even made iPhones in 2000. So, I'm not sure where this unknown backup from December 2000 is coming form. Also, I am pretty sure I did not sync my iPhone 4 to iTunes, nor did I do a back up of my iPhone in iTunes, before upgrading to iTunes 11.
Now, there is not too much on my iPhone 4 I'm concerned about saving. I did manage to pull off all the photos using Windows Vista Autoplay. But, there are quite a few contacts on my iPhone that I would like to save. And I have some newer Apps that I would like to save.... these apps were free, but some of them are no longer available in the App Store.
Some other info.... after updgrading to iTunes 11, iTunes does show 50 Apps in the library. These appear to be apps from some much earlier sync prior to upgrading to iTunes 11.
My problem is I sync very rarely.... I also update my iOS very rarely.... and I also update the iTunes software very rarely. I got to a point where some newer apps I wanted would only run on a newer iOS. But it seems I got to a point where I could also no longer update my iOS without updating the iTunes version. So, my plan was to update to iTunes 11 (which I did), then update my iPhone iOS (which I haven't been able to accomplish yet), because I want to sync my iPhone with the new iTunes 11, to be able to get off my contacts and newer apps. But I can't to that because iTunes 11 will only show me the "Welome to Your New iPhone" screen.
Again, I'd like to get my contacts and newer apps off the phone into iTunes. If I then have to wipe the iPhone clean and restore, that would be OK.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to get past the Welcome to Your New iPhone Screen?

I recently locked myself out of my iPhone 4S. I decided to backup the phone and try to restore it in order to bypass the lock screen. Now that the iPhone has been wiped, I'm stuck at the Welcome to your new iPhone screen. I have the option to set up as a new iPhone, and restore from backup. After choosing restore from backup, it restores my phone, but the welcome to your new iPhone screen shows up again no matter what I do. Closing iTunes and turning the phone on and off has no results. I currently cannot add new apps, music, movies, anything....via iTunes. Help?

I also had this problem. Read these instructions CAREFULLY before taking action, or everything will be ruined. To get past this screen, select Set Up New iPhone.  After that, it will bring you to the iTunes store screen. At the top of the screen there will be a loading bar. At the end of the bar, there should be an x for cancel. Press it, and it will stop iTunes from deleting all of your data. It will no longer bring you back to the welcome screen once you have done this.

  • "Welcome to your new iPhone" screen for activated phone

Today I had to exchange my iPhone 3G for the second time. That isn't a gripe, I'm thrilled Apple has been so responsive and flexible in working with me. (The issue had to do with a short in the headphone jack that would cause the unit to begin to play music when headphones were plugged in and sometimes unplugged, even on a locked/sleeping phone. Apple swapped them out no problem. I love these guys!)
I'm on my third phone. However, every time I plug in my phone, in iTunes, I get the "Welcome to your new iPhone" window with the "Continue" button. When I click it, it takes me to the normal iTunes window looking at the settings for my phone. But the thing is, it does this every time I plug in phone.
Any ideas? Some kind of cache or pref to clear/reset?
Another odd thing. The Genius said that the OS on the phone he was giving me was a newer build than on the phone I had turned in. But when I look at the build number and the build number of the one you can download they are the same. Was there a different build preinstalled on some 3Gs than on others or what was downloaded via iTunes for a restore?

For whatever weird reason, updating iTunes to 7.7.1 did the trick. It must have been some pref or cache thing that was overwritten with the update. While the question wasn't answered I guess it is fixed.
I'd still be curious to know about that build version difference the Genius mentioned.

  • Itunes keeps saying "welcome to your new ipod touch."

I updated itunes and all, and my iPod touch shows up in "My Computer" but I want to add a movie to my iPod Touch but I am unable to because everytime I plug in my ipod to my computer and go to itunes it says "welcome to your new iPod Touch."

    Hello Mike,
Congratulations on your new iPod touch!  When you connect an iPod touch to iTunes for the first time, it gives you the welcome screen, but there should also be a button that says "Continue" or "Get Started" that you can click on to continue with syncing.
Once you have clicked on one of those buttons, you can continue with the steps in the following article to sync content to your new iPod:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • How can I get my "contacts" back on my iPod classic.  ITunes wiped out all my contacts and there is even no place for contacts any more on my macBook.

How can I get my "contacts" back on my iPod classic.  iTunes wiped out all my contacts from my iPod classic and now I no longer even show a place for contacts on my computer when I plug in my iPod.

You don't download iTunes by connecting your phone to iTunes and yes of course, by syncing your phone with your husbands computer, of course you will have lost all your stuff and you will have his.
When you connect to iTunes, you sync.
To get back all your things, then you need to sync your phone to the computer that you used originally to set your phone up - if this is your computer, then connect your phone to that and sync it with iTunes on that and you will get your stuff back, but when you connect to iTunes you sync and don't download.
Ringtones should download automatically to your phone and if not, if you are getting them on your computer, then download them to your computer with your iTunes on and double click to get the MP3 file to open in iTunes and then sync your phone to your computer and you will get the ringtone on your phone.

  • Can't get past "Welcome to Mail" screen

I have been trying to set up my Apple Mail account to access my Gmail account but find I can't get past the initial "Welcome to Mail" screen. When I click on the Mail Icon the screen that tells me I have no e-mail account and asks for the basic e-mail account info including the POP and SMTP address. The problem though is all the set up instructions I have require me to go through the "Preferences" from the Mail's pull down menu, but it, along with almost every other command, is greyed out when the "Welcome to Mail" screen is in the forefront.
I've tried filling in the info requested on the "Welcome to Mail" screen with my Gmail account info (and yes, I've set my Gmail account for POP mail) but Apple Mail can't connect to Gmail with the limited info provided.
So the question is how does one get past the "Welcome to Mail" screen to access the Preferences in the Mail program so I can fill in all the necessary information to get the Apple Mail to work?

The Account Setup “Assistant” is a pain, indeed. It’s unbelievable how lame that “feature” is. After setting up the first mail account, you can bypass it by holding the Option (Alt) key down when clicking the [+] button in Preferences > Accounts, but it appears to be unavoidable when setting up Mail for the first time. There are two things you can do about it, though:
    (1) Let it time-out. It may take a few minutes, but you can do other things with the computer in the meanwhile.
    (2) Shut down the Internet connection so that Mail times-out immediately, and go online again when done.

  • Can't get past the are you over 15 screen

As a first time user I bought a season 2 pass game of thrones but can't get past screen asking if over 15 - screens keep revolving from episode 1 with highlighted play button to are you over 15.  Frustrating to say the least, hate apple tv already. Any suggestions to fix please?

    Hello Robin,
The first important thing to find out will be, if this is a hardware or a software issue.
I would first request you to run a test on the Hard drive. You can do this test from the BIOS.
    Steps:
    1: Shutdown the computer
2: Turn the computer back on and start tapping the F10 Key on the keyboard. This will allow you to enter the BIOS page
3: You will have diagnostics under which you can run a short and long test on the HDD. Run both the test and see if the test passes or fails.
4: If the test fails there is an issue with the Hard drive and the drive needs to be replaced. If the test passes then its an issue with the Software on the computer
If you have not deleated any partition on the computer or changed the operating system, you will have the HP Recovery option available
    Steps:
    1: Shutdown the computer
2: Restart the computer and keep tapping the F11 key. This will allow you to enter the HP Recovery manager page.
From here you can do a complete recovery of the computer
Note: Recovery will erase all the data on the computer.
If the recovery partition is not available, you can contact HP and request for a recovery disc
    Regards

  • TS1702 Lilliput mail box app. Can't get it to work. Ipad2. Uninstalled reinstalled set up addresses and never get past the set up new account screen

    Trying to use mail bob
X manager for google mail that I bought. Multi box management promised.i downloaded it and set up 3 accounts. Now when I open it I can ONLY get to the add account screen. Am I missing a step?

If your email account offers a webmail access, I suggest checking the webmail - log in to your account using the webmail access, and I predict you will see all those "unread" emails there and can dispose of them from there.
This happens because the iPhone that went bad, when reading those emails, did not remove them from your email provider's servier.

  • Can't get alarm to work on new ipod--never had trouble with old ipod

    Greetings all,
I just got a new Classic 120GB and it is great but I can't get the alarm clock to work...when I set a time for the alarm clock, it doesn't seem to remember this time but it instead defaults to an hour later than the current actual time...I tried several times to reset the alarm for a minute or two in the future so I could test it and see if it made any sound...I have reset the ipod and the normal time and date display is correct. I also can't get the beep sound to work, although I can hear the clicking when you scroll through things and so the internal speaker is clearly working. I used my old Ipod Photo for years as my alarm clock and I never had a problem with it...anyone have any idea how to fix this? I have the most recent ipod software, am using an older 17" G4 powerbook running 10.4.11. is there something obvious I am overlooking?

update: I can get an alarm message (you have an alarm) and a choice to dismiss or "snooze" but the internal speaker is still not kicking in and obviously a silent alarm is not ideal in this instance. When I try to hear the "beep" under tones, it doesn't make any sound but bounces me back to "sounds"...I can hear the clicking when scrolling and so the speaker seems activated but is muted somehow for the alarm. My old Ipod had a nice little alarm sound and I was hoping to use my new Ipod as an alarm clock as well...not a life or death thing, but I can't figure this out and I have read everything I could find. Help!

  • Itunes says welcome to your new ipod... but my ipod is already full of content

My daughter's iPod touch 5th generation is full of content.  She's had it for several months.  We tried backing  it up to our year old Mac Mini, running Mountain Lion 10.8.5.  We were first asked to trust the computer on the iPod, which we did.  Now iTunes on the Mac Mini is welcoming us to our new iPod - we don't want to erase it  and start over - just back it up.
    Thanks!

Select setup as "New", the next screen should prompt you to rename your phone. Just name it what you already have it named. After that, you should be able to sync/backup and all of your data & settings will still be exactly as you've already set them up on your phone. That message is more threatening than what really happens.
