Can't get rid of Bold Text in Mail

All my text is in Bold in my Apple Mail. Only headers are normal.
There must be a keystroke for it. Can anyone help?
Thanks

  • LG Lucid 3: How can I get rid of the text message indicator? It says I have a text message, but I do not.

I have a new LG Lucid 3 and the text message indicator says I have a new message, but I do not. Messaging is empty when I click on it. How can I get rid of the "1" indicator? I tried turning the phone on and off and that did not work.

Thanks for trying, Anzivina! You've done some strong troubleshooting. Although I do wish it had resolved this matter, I believe we still have options. You've indicated that  you've done a factory reset. Can you walk me through the steps you took to get there? Also, after the factory reset, how long before this message indicator appeared again? Was it before or after you restored all your personal data?

  • How can I get rid of unwanted text in my preview?

My book looks the way I want it to look on my mac.  But when I preview it on my iPad unwanted text "Untitled"  and "Section 1 appears. How can I get rid of these words?  Can I replace them with something else?

Those elements are editable at whatever level they appear. As an example, go to the first page in a section, then click on/inside the title...select and edit accordingly.

  • How can I get rid of the text and only have icons in the bookmarkfield?

Earlier the bookmarkfied only showed icons but after the upgrade they show icons and text. How can I get back to only icons so I can have the good old overwiw back?

Test this by going to that folder with both in it and click View/Show View Options. In there, de-check "Show icon preview", and you should see the bordered icons go to default file type icons and the unframed ones remain the same. I honestly don't know how to re-embed the image in the icon data, as it does not play well with the typical paste in on Get Info. Hope this gets a solution rolling, because it's something that's bothered me as well.
Thanks umparrothead. Yeah, I see what you're saying. The copy and paste into the "get info," is buggy, but it does actually work. I have noticed this when trying to change the icon on an .avi file. The copy paste in "get info," initially shows the paste, but it's not reflected immediately in the files icon in the finder window. I have gotten it to show up as the files icon by moving the file to another folder, (in list view), and then... opening then and closing the folder.
See here the border on the one file is gone!!
This opening and closing does not work in the folder the file is in. It only works after moving it to another folder and then opening and closing?!? I think it has something to do with quickview trying to over-ride our choice of icon for it's own choice, whether it be a poster frame on a movie file, or in this case it's own "bordered" view of the photo inside. I imagine it might also show up after a restart, but that is surely far more extreme than the dreaded move file/open folder/close folder/open folder/move file back, trick. uuugghhh...
This copy paste thing is no solution to be sure. But it does work. I just wish there were some kind of script so I can run it on hundreds of photos at a time...
Any one else out there with any ideas?!?

  • Mystery of mysteries. Can't get rid of "Glossary" text on Favorites tab.

I consider myself relatively well-versed in chm file compiling and chm related issues, but this one has me stumped...
    System Specs;
RH 9 now (initial English help in background below was compiled using RH 7)
    Windows 7 64-bit
First, the background -- We use RoboHelp to compile our English CHM. We then decompile the files from the CHM and ship those off for localization. When they come back from translation, we use usually use FAR HTML to recompile the help. Sometimes we use RH (if FAR HTML is being tempermental). And in rare cases, like today, we use both. So today I was working on compiling a Traditional Chinese help we got back from translation recently. I tried using FAR HTML as usual for the initial post-translation compile. I ran into various and sundry compiler errors that made no sense whatsoever, so I decided to try compiling it in RH instead. The compilation made it through, but the Contents and Index tabs weren't displaying the proper Chinese characters. So I took this Traditional Chinese chm that was compiled by RH, decompiled it, and tinkered with .hhc and .hhk file encoding and charsets and used FAR HTML again to compile. And this time compiling worked without a hitch. We got proper characters. Yay! So far so good. Well, sort of. That's just the background.
Now, the problem -- So now, compiling back in FAR HTML from the above decompiled RH 9 files, I'm getting a psuedo Glossary tab I don't want since in our localized versions of the help. (We simply just call an htm containing the glossary info, and tie the htm to the toolbar.) I say "pseudo" because here's what the navigation pane on the compiled help looks lilke:
Notice that the Favorites tab is actually somehow getting named as "Glossary".  We don't want this. I want the default "Favorites" text for the tab. If I unregister the hhactivex.dll and recompile, the "Glossary" string on the tab thankfully goes away, showing just "Favorites". If I register the dll again or move the compiled help onto a system with a registered hhactivex.dll, the problem reappears all by itself when the help is launched.
How can I get my Favorites tab back to normal? I suspect this problem is contained somewhere in the HHP file, specifically my Windows definition. But I've tried recreating the hhp, and the window definition many times, but it still appears. I even at one point tried removing the Favorites tab but then the mystery "Glossary" text moves onto infesting the Search tab.
Here's my hhp innards if it helps:

Is RH somehow still doing something to it even though technically I'm not using it to compile? Is there some other setting or file somewhere that could be controlling this or is it just a compiler bug that I've never noticed?

Thanks Cara, but I'm not sure if that's the same thing. In this problem the Favorites tab in the CHM was showing up with the word "Glossary" in it. Anyway, it's water under the bridge now for me. Things are better now that we're localizing our Engish RH project directly, instead of our old way of decompiling the English chms and sending the decompiled htms.

  • Can't get rid of the # when adding text

I'm trying to edit a document in Indesign. I started by doing a Pre-Flight to correct errors and have one left I can't get rid of.
Originally the Text Error was for a font that ID could not find so I changed the font to what was already being used for other text - an included font - Charlamagne Std Regular
When trying to type text into a text box the type jumps to just above the text box where the pound sign (#) sits.
When entering type, even after positioning the curser inside the text box, it jumps the text to right before the pound sign, on top of the text box, and adds a pink box under the text.
I have attached a screen shot to show this. How to I get rid of the pound sign and pink box to be able to simply type some text in the text box (that the pink box is in)? Thanks!

@dkg62 – to make clear what's going on, select the text frame and show us another screenshot.
There are at least four cases where you can get a text like that. All cases imply, that the font you'd like to use is missing. I simulated this by formatting text with a font weight that is not available by a character style.
    1. The most likely case: There is baseline shift applied; here in my case 9pt.
All other cases are academical, because the pink highlighting is aligned with the text:
    2. Text frame options, baseline set to a fixed value (zero in this case)
    3. Text on path and the text frame options (baseline) is just the standard default. You can see a second #-end of story sign inside the text frame.
    4. Text on path and the text frame options (baseline) is set to fixed (zero in this case). The second #-sign inside the text frame is shifted above because of the fixed value of the baseline option of the text frame options. And obscured by the pink highlighting.

        JenJenTen,
I understand that having a preset text that you did not want can be a bit frustrating when sending out text. To clarify, is the preset message like a signature at the end of your text? Does this only happen in text messages or when your send emails also? Is your SMS delivery confirmation on? Messaging>Settings>SMS delivery confirmation.

  • Have a problem on my IMac that a screen has come up titled text edit  and can not get rid of it using OSX I believe  10.7.5

Can not exit text edit screen when i click on the apple does not give me the option of shuting down or restart just can't get rid of it. have no clue what brought this screen up never seen it before.

If it is the application, Text Edit is a basic word processing app which is in your Applications folder. In order to force quit, you need to hold down three keys at the same time (there is no drop down/force quit):
Command + Option + esc (at the top left of your keyboard). That will bring up this window:
If an application is not responding, it may show "not responding" next to its name (or sometimes not). In any case, hit the Force Quit button and it should quit. If that does not work, shut down your Mac and boot it up again.

  • Text I can't get rid of (InDesign newbie)

When I insert or add new pages to my document, text appears in the upper left corner which says:
    "This is a main heading.
    This is the text.
    THIS IS A SUB-HEADING
    This is the text."
I can't figure out how to get rid of this text or how to make it not spawn when I create new pages.  Any protips?

    Check the master page. View>Pages
There are two sections to the master pages - the top being the master pages, and the bottom being the actualy pages in the document.
You can match the letter in the top corner to the name of the master page in the icons.
