Can't get rid of songs on iPod

Hello!
So, I want to get rid of some songs on my iPod. Its the latest version and I use the latest version of iTunes. I unchecked the songs I didn't want in iTunes and then synced my iPod. When I checked my iPod, the songs were still there. Also, when I clicked on "On This IPod", the songs were not listed.
I even deleted the songs from my iTunes account, and resycned again, but they were not going away.
I tried the whole, "hold the lock key and home button together until the apple appears" thing, tried it, didn't work.
Any way I can get those songs off my iPod? Thanks!

Do they play on the iPod? If no then
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

    Hi there,
It sounds like you may need to hide these purchases in the iTunes Store in order to prevent them from displaying on the Apple TV. Take a look at the article below for more information.

    Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.

  • How, on the ipod touch 5th gen, can you get rid of songs in the songlist?  I restored from a stolen ipod touch 4th gen, and now there is a bunch of crap that is not even mine on this thing.  The songs only show up in the songs listing.

I had my last ipod stolen, when I got the 5th Gen I restored from my old ipod from itunes and now there is a bunch of crap on there that I don't want, but the songs only show up on the ipod so I can not delete them off of the ipod from itunes.  Any quick fixes to remove the unwanted songs, or do I have to start over completely?

Do they play on the iPod?
If not then they are corrupted.
Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
    Come back with the results.

If the other is larger than about 1 1/2 GB that indicates corrupted file.

  • How can I get rid of songs listed as shadow/grey letters in my music that I have removed?

Songs that should have been removed is still there. This is music that's not in iCloud. It happend when I change Itunes to another PC. Some songs are even listed two times.

I was only able to get rid of this, on my iPhone 6+ running 8.0.2, after restoring my phone via iTunes. This was after spending 90 minutes with Apple support.

  • Can anything get rid of scratches on iPod screen

    Hi there
As there anything on the market that can polish scratches out of the colour iPod screen?
I thought of jeweller's rouge. Any ideas?

Depends on how big the scratches are. If you are talking about just the little tiny scratches you can try a commercial plastic poish and cleaner. These have mild abrasives followed by something that actually temporarily fills the scratches with something with a refractive index similar to the plastic, making them much less visible. In the US, Meguire's has a plastic cleaner and a plastic polish that can accomplish this.
If you are talking about a big scratch (like the piece of chicken wire that scratched mine... don't ask) you will have to sand the scratch out with a more aggressive abrasive, then follow with successively smaller grits until you get back to the gloss of the original screen. There are modeller's sandpapers available in grits like 1200 or 2400. Use them with water to keep the paper from clogging but obviously don't get water in the inner workings of the ipod. 3M also sells a line of automotive abrasive sheets down to 15 microns. They aslo sell an automotive finishing product called Finesse. It is a white paste and fairly aggressive but leaves a gloss finish after you've buffed it out. I would try the Finesse first and if your scratch is too big or deep then try the larger grits. I recommend trying this on a scrap piece of plexiglas before you do it on the iPod. Good luck.

  • Podcast Authors appear in "Artists" on my Ipod - How can I get rid of that?

I use iTunes to subscribe to podcasts. After synchronizing, the podcasts appear on my Ipod in my "Podcasts"-folder as they should. But the Authors also appear in the "Artists"-folder, which I find very confusing.
How can I get rid of that?

Select the Podcast you want to change in iTunes
Hit COMMAND -I for the Get Info window
    Select the INFO tab
Make your changes there and dont forget to save before you exit the window.

  • When I plug in my iPod nano 4th gen to iTunes, a lot of space is taken up by 'other'. What is this and how can I get rid of it to free up some space?

When I plug in my iPod nano 4th gen to iTunes and click on my iPod, I can see a graph showing how much space is available on my iPod and what it is being taken up by.  A lot of space is taken up by 'other'. What is this? I have a big iTunes library, with about 2000 songs, so I don't want all this space taken up by something I don't know what it is. How can I get rid of it?

OmniDiskSweeper is a good program to see what's taking up space: http://www.omnigroup.com/products/omnidisksweeper/

  • HT5100 How can I get rid of all the doubles on my Ipad, Ipod and Mac?

how can I get rid of all my double songs, pics, and videos on my Ipod, Itunes, ipad and mac?

I've used Brasso to remove minor scratches/scuffs from my Nano and 5th Gen iPod. It works pretty well, and it's available at any hardware store. Your local supermarket might even carry it in the isle with cleaning products.
I don't know how well it would work for you. Having the iPod dragged around the floor sounds pretty rough. If it has deep scratches, there might not be anything you can do for it.

  • Really need help...can't get my old songs to reload onto my ipod.  The only songs that will load are ones I have purchased recently on my iphone.  I can see all my music in my library. Help please!

Hi everyone..I really need some help!  My computer went in for repair and cleaning.  The music in my itunes library at the time was backed up on discs.  I had not resynced my ipod touch with computer since that occurred in May of this year.  Since then I have purchased an iphone and some new music was purchased as well.  My phone has the new music (which is about 100 songs).  Yesterday I decided I was ready to get everything organized and put all my music on my ipod and my apps on my phone.  I have, as it would appear, reloaded all my music back into my library (a little over 1000 songs) as I can see the music and I can open and play it through itunes.  I have resynched my ipod touch.  All the music that was on my ipod touch has now been taken off and the only music that synched with it is the music I have purchased since I bought my iphone (only about 100 songs).  Can't get all music on my ipod at all.  Additionally, my account is not recognizing the touch as one of my devices.  Any help at all would be appreciated!

You can contact Apple and request a 1-time redownload of your lost purchases. Of course, they prefer you follow some of these recommendations on backing up your purchases.
I think the e-mail form on this page is the best place to start for requesting the replacement download.

    Hi lundjj,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You may find the troubleshooting steps in this article helpful if your iPod nano does not appear in iTunes:
    iPod not appearing in iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3716
This information can also help if you are using multiple devices with a computer:
iPod for Windows: Connecting multiple iPod devices to iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3622
Although FireWire and USB connections will allow multiple iPod devices to be connected to the computer at the same time, iTunes for Windows works best with only one iPod connected at a time. If you plan to connect multiple iPod devices to the same computer, eject any iPod devices that you are not using from iTunes.
    All the best,
    Jeremy

    - Try resetting the iPod.  Nothning except your problem will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Also go to Settings>General>Accessibility and see if an accessibility feature is turned on.
