Can't hide rows; not fully compatible with Excel files

This program has not been fully thought out in its design. I wish I had not bought it; I mistakenly assumed that Apple would have made it fully compatible to other spreadsheet templates, with basic features equal to Excel.
If I want to use this program in my business, I have to rewrite my spreadsheet templates!!!
I will certainly think twice before paying good money for Apple software that is supposed to replace other business software, if I bother considering it at all.

Hi Glenn,
Welcome to Numbers. Yes you can hide rows and columns.
What I do is this:
1. To hide row 8, move mouse over the number 8 for row 8
2. You'll now see a drop down arrow to the right. Click on the arrow you'll see Hide Row.
3. The same technique applies to columns as well.
To further help you allow me to suggest reading the Numbers help file. Quote:
Hiding Rows and Columns
Hide specific rows or columns when you want to avoid showing or using them but don’t want to delete them. While a row or column is hidden, it can’t be reformatted, merged, split, or otherwise manipulated. However, any formula that uses a hidden cell isn’t affected, and sorting takes hidden values into account.
To hide a row or column:
Choose Hide Row or Hide Column from a row or column reference tab’s pop-up menu.
To show hidden rows and columns, choose Table > Unhide All Rows or Table > Unhide All Columns.
Rows or columns that are hidden in Numbers tables aren’t visible when the tables are copied into other iWork ’08 applications. To see the hidden rows, select the table and choose Format > Table > Unhide All Rows or Unhide All Columns.

It's my hope all the above helps you. If this isn't what you're looking for then I've misunderstood your question so please post back. If it is what you're looking for please let us know as well.
Sincerely,
RicD

  • IPod Nano (2nd generation) not fully compatible with BOSE SoundDock

I can't get the remote control for my BOSE SoundDock to function with my newly purchased 2 GB iPod Nano (2nd generation).
The BOSE manual states that the remote control will not function properly if the iPod doesn't have the proper (or later) version of Apple software installed.
The "correct" software that BOSE identifies for the iPod mini (Nano) is version 1.2 or later.
This, however, appears only applicable to iPod 1st generation Nanos.
My brand new ipod Nano has version 1.1.2 software and iTunes has confirmed this to be the most current software for this 2nd generation unit.
Is this a common problem? It's hard to believe the BOSE unit does not cover 2nd generation iPod Nano software.
Other than the non-funtioning remote control, the BOSE unit works fine and with the BOSE-supplied black adpater for the Nano.

Actually, the BOSE SoundDock is compatible with the iPod Nano.
After troubleshooting with the BOSE staff, and some excellent customer service, the problem was narrowed down to the remote control device.
BOSE sent out a new remote control and the unit works fine with my iPod Nano.
Appreciate all who offerred assist in this matter.

  • HS-20/AD-41 headset is not fully compatible with N...

The remote control works until the Music Player actually plays tracks, but it won't control the paused or stopped player if the keypad is locked on the phone or the Music Player is in the background. It means that if I paused or stopped the music for some reason I have to pull out the phone to unlock the keypad to get the remote control working again. And Nokia lists the N80 as compatible with this headset...

Same with an N73, so it's not just the N80 that is not compatible with the AD-41.
N73 is fully compatible, all you need to do to make the buttons work is plug the pop port without the 3.5 headphone jack connected to it. As soon as the phone recognize the headset, that is the time to plug in the 3.5 jack. Good luck!!!

  • Four month old iPhone 5 not fully compatible with T-Mobile ???

I bought a brand new, un-locked iPhone 5 in December directly from Apple.. It is now only partially compatible with the T-Mobile network it's been on since it's original power on. *** ?????
In T-Mobile's announcement today, they indicated that Apple was building a 'special' version just for them. They also said I would have to go buy a brand new iPhone 5 to get the new 1700 band... NOT!!!
Can the existing, iPhone 5 be updated via firmware, to be compatible with he T-Mobile 1700 band network ????
    Thanks in advance...

It was well known in the business pages of any newspaper, evening news, computer trades, online, etc., that T-Mobile would get the iPhone, probably around April. It was also known that after the merger fell through that T-Mobile would have to put together an LTE network in order to compete in the US marker. It was also known that T-Mobile used different frequencies than AT&T and would have to use a different band/frequency for their LTE network.
So how were you "ripped off"? As I said before who put a gun to your head and made you buy an unlocked iPhone to use on T-Mobile before T-Mobile was an official carrier?
The only person who ripped you off was you.

  • Adobe Flash 10.0.42.34 not fully compatible with OS X 10.6.2

Every time I try to run Flash content on my computer, I am told that I need to install Rosetta (32-bit backward compatibility).   When is Adobe going to provide a 64-bit version of Flash?  I mean, Snow Leopard has been out for some time, I would think that this would have been resolved by now.

    It requires 10.9 or later.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

  • HTML5 Courses still not fully compatible on iPad or iPhone

    Hi,
I've created several courses in Captivate 7, and using the HTML5 tracker, I've made sure all the elements in the courses are HTML5 supported. After publishing the courses and putting them in the LMS, I've tried using them on my iPhone and iPad, and I keep getting a warning message (all the courses work fine on my Mac). The message says:
"This course is not fully compatible with your current device. You may encounter problems with some lessons."
I can open the courses fine, and can navigate through them, but I'm not sure what parts are not compatible. I found one video that's not working, and it seems that the quiz questions aren't working. Otherwise, they seem to be functioning fine.
Any ideas or insight would be appreciated!

Can you tell me what the "ini" file is? The warning seems legitimate because the quiz questions aren't working on the iPad or the iPhone. So it seems like more than an automatic error message.

  • Despite it is claimed in Adobe forum that Lightroom is fully compatible with OS Maverics on my MacBook Air IT IS NOT. A message "an error occurred while attempting to change modules" appears and I cannot go any further. Can anyone help?

Despite it is claimed in Adobe forum that Lightroom is fully compatible with OS Maverics on my MacBook Air IT IS NOT. A message "an error occurred while attempting to change modules" appears every time I try to open Lightroom. This happened immediately after upgrading to Mavericks. On my doughter's same machine Lightroom works perfectly. Can anyone help?

Surely the Adobe forums are the place for help with Adobe applications. The fact that the problem doesn't occur on your daughter's machine suggests that it's not an issue with Mavericks but a local problem on your own machine.

    Hello,
You are correct, Blue tooth low engergy, BTLE.(only) devices are not backward compatible with Classic bluetooth and cannot connect.
However the Apple 4S and above have Bluetooth 4.0 support.. Hardware wise it has bothClassic Bluetooth, like the 3GS, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy.  There is no good reason why your 4s cannot communicate to your Sony in-dash player using the Classic bluetooth that resides in the 4S.
I know that this does not answer the why it does not work, but it should work. Do you have to somehow re-pair the new phone up to the player?  Not  knowing the model of the Sony it is hard to investigate.
And I hate to ask but are you sure that the Bluetooth radio is on in the phone?

  • Where can I access a version 5 download? Version 6 is not yet compatible with an application I use for school.

Is there a version 5 download available on the website? Version 6 is not yet compatible with an application I use for school.

I think this link will work:
''moderator deleted a hyperlink to an unsupported version''
I suggest, that while Mozilla is on a "rush to release updates faster than fixing bugs" kick, NO ONE should have "automatic updates" on. Go into "tools" and turn off that option, and NEVER agree to accept an update unless you know that things have been made compatible and that the bugs have been ironed out.
It's also wrong of them to release NON-beta copies, automatically, which cause incompatibility, every few weeks. That should only happen every year or two.
We need to ban together and quit installing their updates until they quit rushing them out too quickly.

i have tried a reset and a restore, still nothing.would a service on my touch fix it
Although someone (probably not Apple) could take a look at it, the cost to you may not be money well spent since the likelihood of fixing this may be slim -- it may actually cost less to buy a refurb 3G Touch than repair your 2G.
But you mentioned resetting and restoring it -- did you load your last backup when you restored it?  Perhaps your backup is corrupted, so restoring and re-loading the backup will just perpetuate the problem.  Try restoring the Touch but set it up as a new iPod (don't select the iPod's current name/ backup at the end of the restore process).
If that doesn't help, then you're probably out of luck.

How do I go back to Firefox 5.0? I need to use Selenium IDE, which is not yet compatible with 6.0.

The link is to the latest update to 4.o which was 4.0.1
The 4.0.1 and 5.0 are two separate versions as installing 4.0.1 over 5.0 will just give you the old 4.0.1 as the end result.
The 5.0 is partially as a security update in place of 4.0.2.
The Skype extension was only for to make it so you can dial phone numbers on a web page in the separate Skype program right so if you were not using it then no need for the Skype extension for the separate Skype application to work.

  • Is Lightroom 5.2 fully compatible with PS CS6?

Based on http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1308132?tstart=0 I decided to add each question seperately:
Hello, I'm quite interested in buying Lightroom 5.2. I tried the RC which ran out now. Yet, I have a several questions that I can't really find good conclusive answers to, that I'd like to get answered before buying LR. Please don't write maybe like this or that (assumptions), since I don't want to start my whole workflow and then realize that I have to change everything around, so please answer, if you know for sure that something works and you are, preferably, using that method too.
Is Lightroom 5.2 fully compatible with PS CS6? E.g. some ACR 8.2 stuff only works with Lightroom AFAIK. Will that mean that I can't edit them in PS? Is there a list of the exact edits I shouldn't make, if I want to be able to edit in PS?

Is Lightroom 5.2 fully compatible with PS CS6?
    Yes
E.g. some ACR 8.2 stuff only works with Lightroom AFAIK.
    AFAIK, this is incorrect
Will that mean that I can't edit them in PS?
You most certainly can send photos from Lightroom 5 to CS6 and do any editing that is possible in either program

You can't delete some of the native apps but you can put them away in a folder OR some of them you can make invisible by restricting them (iTunes for example).

  • Canon PowerShot A620 fully compatible with OS 10.4.6 and iPhoto 6?

I am about to buy my first digital camera... the Canon A620 looks like the one, but I'm a little confused about whether it's fully compatible with iPhoto 6. The Canon website says (implies, really) that it is, but I've seen some reviews by people who had different experiences. Does anybody in these discussions have this camera? Does it work ok with iPhoto 6?
Thanks. I don't want to make an expensive mistake.
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I expect it works perfectly fine. I suggest you use the Canon software to download the pictures from the camera and them import them into iPhoto. You can get the software and the manual at www.powershot.com. The software at the Canon site may be newer than the CD that comes with the camera, too.
In my experience, iPhoto doesn't 'remember' which images you've already downloaded from a camera or a memory card reader. Each time is downloads all of them and then you can pick whether you want to "ignore duplicates". The Canon software shows you thumbnails of all the images and there is a mark on the images you've already downloaded -- you can select just a few images and it only grabs them (and tags that they were downloaded). On my USB 1.1 iMac the latter method is much faster.
Using the Canon software doesn't load the pix into iPhoto -- they're put into a folder and you import into iPhoto afterwards. You might choose to back all the images up to CD from the folders and just import the better photos into iPhoto at this point.
Another route is to use "Image Capture" on the Mac to download the photos. It puts them into a folder, like the Canon software, and it lets you choose just the images you want from an 'icon view'. Again though, it doesn't 'remember' which shots you've already downloaded; only the Canon software does.

  • Is Flash Player fully compatible with Windows 7?

Is the latest version of Flash Player fully compatible with the 32bit release version of Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8?
I am asking this because since I reinstalled Windows 7 32bit and Flash Player I am experiencing problems with Flash.
My action centre informs me that I have a problem with Flash Player and I should go to Adobe's website and address the problem.
I have uninstalled Flash and reinstalled Flash as Microsoft and Adobe advise, several times but I still get problems.
I uninstalled the 64bit version of Windows 7 because Flash was causing too many problems.
Since reinstalling the 32bit version I have had several reports of Flash Player not working properly, Skype reporting problems and IE8
using compatibility view when I view some web-pages with Flash in them.
When attempting to view Netto's webpages Flash fails to work and I am told to download the latest version of Flash again.
I do not remember this problem occuring with either previous versions of Flash or with Windows 7 RC.
