Hi,
I can't use Acrobat 8 with Leopard and in an attempt to fix the problem I can't install the fix patch. When it asks for an application then the Distiller and Acrobat Pro applications are 'greyed out'
Please Help!!

I hope everyone realizes that Aandi is trying to be humouros. ;-)
In word2004 you click on the little PDF Maker icon and it will works but it takes forever and two days to work.
Heres the squence of events.
File checked for errors
Documents converted to PS File.
File checked for errors
If error found a retry and error check performed again, up to 3 times.
File Converted to PDF
File checked for Errors
If errors found, retried and rechecked up to 3 more times.
If File is okay File is actually written to ahrd Drive.
same check and recheck sequence
If everything Okay hidden .ps file is trashed.
PDFMaker quits.
Word2008
PDFMaker does not work, it is written using VBA. VBA has been completely stripped from Office 2008.
To create a PDF. do as follows.
save document as Doc or DocX file.
Then go to Save As... and look for save as PDF.
Word Document is directly converted from Word Format to PDF on a file that amounts to 108K Pdf takes about 10 seconds or less. Same file size using Office 2004 using PDFMaker about 3 minutes or more.

  • Can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP3

Newbie hozer can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP4.  At end of install via CD it hangs restarting Print Spooler (spooler) and Windows Image Acquisition (stisvc) services, err 1920, and all I can do is click Cancel and it uninstalls the whole dad gum thing.  I tried kb.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403613.html.  Not fixing it.
If I could change the permissions on those services maybe that would help but I can't do it, I don't have a login with enough permissions, I guess...
So after the third time I just hard-crashed the hard drive when it got to the last ("can't start Windows Image Acquisition", cancel/retry) window and I did end up with the files on the HDD but... they won't install or delete now.  I'm infested.  Try to install in Normal or Vega mode, it now pops up a filled in userid/serial number box, and when you click ok or retype it, it says the s/n is invalid.  I keep having to reboot to get Windows Installer to let me start it (another permissions problem).  So I'm stuck. UpToDateTrendMicro doesn't find any evil doers...  the kb403613 sent me to this forum,
    with hopes,
M3/   [that's MEL, or as close as the ScreenNameBouncer would let me get]

Not sure it will help, but try it when logged in as the administrator and with anti-virus turned off. As far as error numbers, must of us have no clue (there seems to be a list at Adobe, but we don't work there.

  • Can't install Acrobat 10

I can't install Acrobat 10 on a new computer with Windows 7 Enterprise and Internet Explorer 9.
Acrobat complians about IE says that it is IE7 and then finnish the installation.
I tried to install Acrobat XI trial and it worked.
Does anyone know what to do?

Both versions are X so it's not a previous version of Acrobat.  So the correct workflow would be to script an uninstall of the Acrobat Standard installation using:
    msiexec.exe /x {APPLICATION_GUID}
    Reboot the machine
    Install Acrobat X Pro

As Niel states you can use your current iWorks.
If you want the latest version you will need to purchase the componets in the Mac App Store.

  • Can I install Acrobat in a Windows Server 2008 for many users?

I'm looking for a solution for my enterprise to install Adobe Acrobat in Windows Server 2008 R2, where the users connect by remote desktop. I'm looking for a form for they use Acrobat by the same form they uses now Reader. But not for all, only for some of this users.
I called a responsible and he told me that I can install Acrobat for some users in Windows Server 2008 R2, but I'm not sure if that solution will be legal.
Can I buy a special license for it or I have to buy a license for each user? How can I proceed to do this, if it's possible?
Thanks in advance for you attention!

Use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify default values.
Place a file local-settings.js in the defaults\pref folder where you also find the file channel-prefs.js to specify using mozilla.cfg.
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); // use this to disable the byte-shift
    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
You can use these functions in mozilla.cfg:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes
    <pre><nowiki>lockPref("app.update.enabled", false);</nowiki></pre>

  • Possible solution if you can't install Acrobat 9 Pro via CS4 Installer

(Thanks to Paul_Belza for this idea.)
    Symptoms:
Acrobat 9 is grayed out in the Setup window of Creative Suite 4 installer.
Opening the carat reveals an incorrect explanation of: "Acrobat 9 is already installed."
You have more than one hard drive attached with an OS X install that has had prior Acrobat installs on it.
    Possible Solution:
Unmount all drives except your current startup drive and try again.
    Discussion:
Apparently, the Acrobat prior install scanner is not very picky about where it finds a prior install. It searchs any and all drives rather than just the current startup drive and/or the currently chosen install drive. In my case, I had a clone of my start drive so I could start the arduos process of making a manual deployment setup.
Since I was previously involved in the CS4 beta, I wasn't too phased when I initially encountered issues on this machine, but much less pleased when I ran all the official uninstallers, cleaners etc and it still claimed Acrobat 9 was installed. Eventually stumbled on Paul Belza's note that the scanner is indiscriminate, unmounted my additional backup drive and all was immediately well.
(Note: During the process, I also came across the fact that with a volume license Acrobat 9 Pro can be installed simply by mounting the extensions/Acrobat9_es.dmg (whatever it is called exactly) and dragging the folder into your Applications folder. As long as you have previously installed a CS4 app (so it doesn't hang at the serial number screen), it will self-repair and be ready for use.

Not sure it will help, but try it when logged in as the administrator and with anti-virus turned off. As far as error numbers, must of us have no clue (there seems to be a list at Adobe, but we don't work there.

  • How can i install acrobat on my android phone

Does anyone know how to install acrobat on my andriod phone.

I need to get my work orders from an internet site. At any time of the day, orders can be put on the internet site. It is very boring and timeconsuming if I need to push by hand the refresh bottum on the computer.
For my desk computer I use the reload add from Firefox. I can install the time after how many seconds/minutes the site has to be reloaded (refreshed).
My question is, is this add also possible on a mobile working on Android? So that it goes automatically.
    Thanks so far.

  • Can't install Acrobat XI

I purchased acrobat XI standard and tried to install on my wife's desktop. When I couldn't seem to get it to install.(it would repeatedly stall during the installation) I thought perhaps it was her computer so I tried to install on my laptop. It seemed to install, but now does not work and I can't install on the original desktop either. What do I need to do to use this 139.00 purchase?

Moving this discussion to the Acrobat Installation & Update issues forum.
Sgood1947! which operating system are you using on each of these computers?  Do you receive any specific error messages when you attempt to install the software?  Do you already have a previous version of Acrobat or Adobe Reader installed?

  • Can't install Acrobat CC

    Good afternoon,
I cannot install Acrobat CC. When nearly finished, (87%) the installer stops and writes "cannot find drive N:".
Drive N: is the drive for my documents, but it's fine if Acrobat is installed on C:
    How can I influence that?
    Best, Kees

Kees I would recommend you verify your Environment variable settings.  I was able to find some documentation on Microsoft's site regarding adjusting your systems Environment Variables at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931715.  You may also want to do a search using your favorite search provider.  I saw several other promising results but did not have the opportunity to review the various links for accuracy.
Please also be aware that when you are responding via e-mail it is being posted to a public discussion.  I have edited your previous response to remove your personal information.  I would recommend disabling your signature if you wish to respond to this discussion via e-mail.

  • Can't install Acrobat PRO in CC using CS6 (mac)

    Hi Community,
In my Company we plan to upgrade to adobe CC (2014) on macs.
In the first step we try to use CC and CS6 together on some macs to ensure it's working.
But since the installation of CC Acrobat PRO X (from CS6) asks for the licence key again when starting.
Unfortunaltly the problem still exists after reinstalling the CS6 package.
In the CC i have no option to install Acrobat PRO XI.
From the Adobe support I've got the hint to delete a file called opm.db in users/Library-folder but this did not help.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
    thanks
