Can't login to router web interface anymore (Authentication Required fails)

After upgrading to Firefox 9.0.1 (or another recent version), I can't login to the web interface of my router anymore, even though I can login with other browsers.
I've tried to login to 192.168.1.1 using Firefox 9.0.1 and my saved credentials (admin/********), but the authentication pop-up just showed up again. The same thing happened when I manually entered the same information. Using safe mode and/or private browsing didn't help either.
To be sure that is was a problem with the Firefox browser, I wrote the address, login and password in a text file, then copied-&-pasted the information into both Firefox and Google Chrome. The result: after repeating this a couple of times, it always worked on Chrome and never on Firefox.
The login process used to work flawlessly with previous versions of the browser, but I'm not sure if the problem appeared on 9.0.1 or the version before.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • Sun x4170 ILOM - Can't get to the web interface 2 days after password reset

Just bought a used x4170. I was able to get iLOM on the network and get to the web interface logon screen after setting the IP for it.
I tried logging on but the password was not given to me. So I connected to the serial interface (rj45) from another machine and used putty to connect. Got to the preboot point and was able to reset the password to default, Rebooted.
I was then able to log into iLOM. That was 2 days ago. Today for some reason, I can't get into iLOM. It pings but I can't get to the web interface. I get the IE error "cannot connect" or unable to connect or something like that.
I'm completely new to this brand of server so consider me completely ignorant on all aspects of the hardware.......lol
    Thanks

    Hello
By default, you connect to the server’s service processor (SP) using the out-of-band network management port (NET MGT). The ILOM sideband management feature enables you to select either the NET MGT port or one of the server’s Gigabit Ethernet ports (NET 0, 1, 2, 3), which are in-band ports, to send and receive ILOM commands to and from the server SP. In-band ports are also called sideband ports.
You can refer more here : https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19269-01/820-7959-11/820-7959-11.pdf
If you want to use the NET MGT port of ILOM, then your output should display similar to below

  • Can't login on DMM web based

    Hi everyone.
    I have some problem with DMM.(Version 5.2.2)
Sometimes, I can't login on DMM web based and receive error "Authentication fail". I'm sure that username and password is corrected.
And I try login again after rebooting the DMM server, it works correctly.
Did anyone have some problem with me? And how to fix this problem. Please give me some advise.
    Kind regards,
    Thanks all!

It seems that your Spotify for Mac client may just be feeling a bit poorly. Try re-installing Spotify for Mac, this might help. You can find instructions at: https://support.spotify.com/uk/learn-more/faq/#!/article/reinstallation-of-spotify If you've tried a re-install and it just doesn't work, if you're remembered on Facebook when you're redirected to Chrome, log out and try again. If you're not remembered, get Facebook to remember you in Chrome and try. My last suggestion is to change your default web browser, because it might just be a problem with Chrome. Once you're in, you should be okay and can use the following instructions to also change your default browser back again: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201607 If none of these work, please contact Spotify on: https://support.spotify.com/uk/contact-spotify-support/ if you're a Premium customer or need your tunes on your Mac! If you're Premium, you need the service you paid for, and nobody should have to live without their music! Good luck and let me know how it goes. Did you know there's also a bunch of other helpful community members like me ready to help you? But this forum isn't just for help, look elsewhere on the community and you can have a chin-wag about the latest music you're loving on Spotify right now. Cheers!

  • I can no longer login to my router web interface from Safari on iPad.

I made a mistake today. After accidentally opening up the web interface login screen to my router in Safari, I just pressed cancel in the login box. Since then, Safari just hangs on 192.168.0.1 when I want to access the router and the login box no longer appears. I can still login via the Terra browser on the same iPad. I would really appreciate any guidance as to how to undo whatever setting I have changed. I have tried clearing cache/cookies/history. Thanks.
Edit: Could I have refused a permission to access in some way? I am now wondering if in my haste, I may have mistaken a permission box for the login box. Is there somewhere in the settings I could check if I have refused a permission? Thanks again.

there should be an X on the right side of each tab. clicking on it should close that tab

  • Cisco ASA 5505 - Can't Login from Public & Local IP Anymore!

    Hello,
We've a Cisco ASA 5505 connected directly to Verizon FiOS Circuit (ONT) box using Ethernet cable. As per the existing documention that I have, the previous configured this as a dedicated router to establish a seperate VPN connection our software provider. They assigned both Public Static and Local Static IP address. When I try to ping the public IP address, it says request time out; so the public IP address is no longer working.
When I ping the local IP address of 192.168.100.11, it responds. The SolarWind tool also shows Always UP signal. How can I login into this router either from remotely or locally to check the configuration, backup and do the fimrware upgrade?
I also tried to connect my laptop directly to the ASA 5505 router LAN port. After 3 minutes, I'm able to connect to Internet without any issues. However I don't know the IP address to use to login.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
UPDATE: I'm able to find the way! I need to use https to login! I'm able to download ASDM tool and login! Thanks to these resources:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a008067e9f9.shtml
    http://cyruslab.wordpress.com/2010/09/09/how-to-download-asdm-from-asa5505-and-install-it/

    Hi Srinath,
If that ASA5505 has factory-default configuration on it , then it probably has 192.168.1.1 ip address on the LAN side and has got dhcp server turned on to provide you ip address dynamically the moment you hook up a machine to it directly or through a switch.
    If you've access to ASDM.
You can go the Configuration Tab>>Device Management>>Device Access and turn on the SSH & Telnet from the LAN interface because by default only HTTPS/ASDM is enabled on LAN interface.
You will still need to generate crypto keys and create a username in order to get ssh working
For this you can click at the TOP at TOOLS>> Command Line Interface.
And in the box below type this
crypto key generate rsa modulus 1024
    add a username
    username <> password <> priv 15
and enable aaa authentication for ssh like this
    aaa authentication ssh console LOCAL
Let me know if this helps.

  • Net down, can't login to router, lights normal on 2nd pc (1st works fine)

I have had a PC installed with FIOS and working perfectly (wire connection, windows xp, m1424-wr router).  I have brought in a newer upgrade PC tower (vista 64 home) that has had internet working fine just recently, but cannot get it to work with FIOS and my router.  I do not run both PC's at once, just one at a time and will replace the other one once this is setup (one monitor).   I have an IP address assigned and packets are sent and received, but I cannot access the web or even login to my router (manually or using FIOS's wizard software).   It is set to auto obtain an address and DNS.  I can log into the router on the old computer that works, and using the same login/password combo on the 2nd computer it fails.  I am using the same cable, and all lights on the router and the pc NIC are on.  Safe mode with networking provides no change
Any ideas what the problem is?  The computer has been working on another network just fine a day before I tried setting it up at a new location with FIOS, but it seems like it is rejecting the connection somehow.

This is an interesting one. Let me see if I understand your post correctly. You see that the new computer is assigned a proper address on the network, and you are able to view the router login page from the new computer. However, entering the router logn/password from the new computer fails to access the router, and you do not have access to the internet. Is that correct?
If so, when you try logging in to the router from the new PC, how exactly does it fail?  What is displayed on your screen?

  • After a while, WRT54G won't allow me into web interface anymore.

I can get into the web interface shortly after powering on the router. But after several hours, or days, I no longer can access it. The internet and network continue to work, I just can't access the settings page (I get something like "page cannot be displayed" in all browsers).
If I unplug the router and plug it back in, I can get into the settings page again.
What might cause this? Would it be fixed if I upgrade the firmware?

Hi. I think people are misunderstanding my issue. That'smy fault, as I didn't report the error accurately. The error is actually an "Empty server response", not a 404 page not found. So it's talking to the router, but getting nothing back.
I understand wired connections are not subject to interference, the way wireless ones are.
However a wired connection for this PC is not feasible without bashing holes in the wall,
and anyway I can see no reason why I can't do this wirelessly (even if there's some risk of interference).
Some people seem to be implying this is "By design" and you're expected to access the settings page only via a wire, and it's perfectly normal to require a reboot before being allowed into it. I don't buy that. I've used other routers where I can access the settings wirelessly every time, even if it hasn't been rebooted in a long time.
What I'm getting at is this: the current issue has nothing to do with interference, if it were interference then I could get on after several attempts. Or if the interference is so strong that I can't connect even after trying for hours... then a simple reboot would not fix it. But a reboot does fix it, which tells me the router seems to be holding on to some info or setting that prevents my PC from accessing it. When I reboot, it loses or changes that info/setting. I'm just curious what it might be.
If the bottom line is "your router is old and sucks, replace it" then I can certainly just do that. I'd just like to know that the new one will not have this problem.

  • EA6900 - Upgraded to latest firmware now can't login to router

Upgraded EA6900 to latest firmware (11629 I believe).  Now unable to login to router using either mylocal.router or linksyssmartwifi.com.  Continues to pop up message that setup not complete.  I repeat the steps to reset the router to factory settings and end up in same spot.  I've tried the procedure connected wired to the router and wirelss to the router.  I can login to router using smartwifi app on iPad however.  Wireless connection still works as devices can connect.  I'm stumbed.

Try clearing you browser's history and temporary files. Also restart the computer just in case.

  • Wrt600n still can't login to router after factory reset

Ok, so I reset the router but i still can't login to the setup using the factory password (admin/admin) (blank/admin) (admin/blank).   Now I have an unencrypted network and no access to the setup... I even tried using the setup CD but it doesn't recognize the router.   Anyone have this problem or know of a possible fix?
    thanks, Carl
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Its a very common problem. Generally peoples push reset button 10-15 sec for reset that it not good enough to return your router to factory setting. So hold the Cisoc Linksys wrt600n reset button this time at least 30-40 second. And try now for a new setting.
     I hope, it helps.
     Thanks,
    Rich

  • How can I find out the web interface a module function is executed from?

    Hello all,
I was wondering if anybody knows how would be possible de determine the web interface a function is being launched from, within the function.
I've got this function that is used for a exit variable that updates the variable value depending on another variable in a web interface. The thing is that this very same function and variable will be used in many web interfaces and the "source" variable will be different for each mask.
So, for example, mask 1 will have variable 1 as a selector variable and variable X will be updated by it. Then I also have variable 2 in mask 2 as a selector variable and variable X will be updated by it as well.
I want to develop a code, within the function module, that depending on the web interface that is calling it, it will use a source the correct variable and for this I need to know which web interface is calling the function.
I hope to have been able to explain myself clearly. It's a purely technical question.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards.

    Hi Francesco,
Are you talking about that ??? )) It will explain you about to get the name of the web page when you are executing an abap function for determining the values of variables...
<a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/biw/g-i/how%20to%20make%20a%20variable%20even%20more%20flexible%20in%20bw-bps.pdf">How to make a variable even more flexible in BW-BPS?</a>
This is weird: I wrote that document a few weeks ago, it is theorically published on SDN but this is not possible to find it by using the research tool... Maybe because it applies only to BPS in 3.5. I did not have enough time to migrate that solution to BI-IP 7.0.

  • Can't Login to Embedded Web Server for HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g that I am trying to access in order to update the adress book for the scanner but in order to do that I must login. I have never set up a user name or password for it. Is there a default username and password?

    Hello @jessescopely,
Welcome back to the HP forums.
I understand that when you try to access the EWS (Embedded Web Server) for your Officejet pro 8600, you are prompted for a username and password.
Unfortunately there is no default username or password.
On rare occasions this can be fixed by restoring the network defaults.
    Go into the Setup menu.
    Select the Network sub menu.
    Choose Restore Network Defaults.
I have also sent you via private message the steps to reset your printer back to factory defaults.
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, this post has instructions.
If neither of those clear the password, please call our technical support at 800-474-6836.

  • Fresh install: can't login with user to tty anymore, root works ok.

    Hi!
I'm new to Arch. I decided to try it so I installed the i686 core image in Virtualbox 4.0.12
under Ubuntu 11.04, with no issues, following both the official install guide and the beginners' guide.
After performing the complete upgrade step, I created a first user (david) with
the default configuration as shown in the guide, and added it to the wheel group.
As can be seen in the file /var/log/auth.log (http://pastebin.com/bkTLuJrz),
I logged in to the new user account shortly after its creation (13:19:33). This worked fine.
After logging off about two minutes later, and trying to log in once more, I found I was no
longer able to gain access. Every next try ended in an automatic logoff 2 or 3 seconds
after inserting the correct password, as can be seen starting from 13:29:41.
No message appeared in auth.log or on screen, and I have been unable to find any sort
of printed hints with a reason in other log files.
I have had no problems logging in as root, besides what seems a possibly similar situation
as seen at 13:30:36 (I don't remember, it could have been a quit test followed by a quick logoff via ctrl-D).
    I tried this solution https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=122348
(they suggest the disk may be full), but that's not my case. Here is the result of "df -h":
    http://pastebin.com/dKHnW91R
I then tried alternatively adding these lines (only one per try) at the end of
    the /etc/security/access.conf file.
    + : david : tty2
    + : (wheel) : LOCAL
I tried logging in to tty2 with the first one, naturally. No success in either case.
Then, I created a new user with the same default options as the first one, but I could never log in,
I was again being thrown out just after inserting the password.
I also tried changing the user passwords, and deleting the .bash* files in /home/david.
Putting a short message to show at login using echo in the last line of /home/david/.bashrc
(the default one created by Arch) succeeded in showing it just before the log off.
Entering to fallback mode made no difference, and trying to log in with only one (different)
account at a time doesn't change anything either. Same trying other tty terminals.
Just to be very clear, I haven't installed X nor sound support.
And just in case (although I suspect it's totally irrelevant for this issue), on boot I'm getting a
message saying my network settings are deprecated, and that I have to check rc.conf.
I don't know what else I could try. Any hints?
EDIT: I ran grep -E " 13:[12][0-9]" /var/log/* to see the lines of the logs, in the range of time
when things got weird, in case I could find any hint of time-correlated stuff:
    http://pastebin.com/fTakKwrY
I installed bash-completion. I tried removing it, but the problem persists.
    pacman -Qdt throws:
    linux--atm 2.5.1-2
    sqlite3 3.7.7.1-1
    Some other relevant files:
    /etc/inittab

    /etc/passwd
    http://pastebin.com/TFWrcFvd
    /etc/group
    http://pastebin.com/gwd4Zwwc
/etc/shadow (with some modified data in case it's somewhat sensitive)
    http://pastebin.com/eh1Te3LB
    /etc/security/access.conf
    http://pastebin.com/LRks1KET
    /etc/sudoers
    http://pastebin.com/KiWdqg9P
I have 1893 MB of base memory and 128 MB of video memory dedicated to the Arch virtual machine.

Welcome to Arch; and a thanks for a reasonable first post -- it most definitely shows the initiative of an arch user.  As a moderator, good job.
Let's look at some of the basic stuff...
Could you post the output of mount   ??
As root, what happens if you try ls -la /home/david
As root, what happens if you try su david
If that works, what happens if you then try cd  followed by ls -la  ??
    Thanks a lot!
su david didn't work, I was sent back to root as if I had only typed the enter key.
However, when I wanted to do the same in an Ubuntu console in order to check something
for a comparison, I discovered something fascinating:
I can no longer log in using *any* console, using gnome-terminal or any tty in Ubuntu!
So I think I'll be back when I get this sorted in the first place, but I will be checking here
just in case someone has some cross-distribution general advice on this issue.
