Can't move video in timeline

Why can't I move my video in the timeline? Everytime I try I get the hand with the circle-crossline. I just finished doing color correct in after effects on all clips and now it's not letting me move anything. Please help!!

Select the directory with your pngs in it.
Right-click>Browse with Adobe Bridge
Select your pngs
Tools>Photoshop>Load to photoshop layers (not sure how many layers this can handle--you may wind up having to do this in batches)
Save your new psd
In Flash, create a new symbol with a blank timeline
Ctrl-R, navigate to the psd you made earlier
Select all the Photoshop layers
Check "create MovieClips for these layers."
Convert layers to keyframes or flash layers (not important, since you probaby don't need to keep this symbol)
OK
You'll have Movie Clips, not Graphic Symbols, but maybe you can write or find a JSFL to convert them and then you can block select them, click the Properties button, and change the type from MovieClip to Graphc.

I've used iMovie forever, and I just bought Final Cut Pro. I uploaded video for a new movie into FCP, but I have an urgent need to get this movie done and don't have time to learn Final Cut Pro to do it. Can I move my video files from FCP over to iMovie 10.0.6? Or do I need to reload the raw video to iMovie?

No you will have to import your clips again into iMovie 10. Projects can only be transferred from iMovie 10 to FCPX and not the other way.

How can I move videos to computer without syncing

Can anyone suggest how I can move video clips to my computer from the playbook which will not sync now that I have update the lastest software. They are too big to send in an email. When I tried to upload them to a youtube account, the file was rejected because the name looked like VD 000164.mp4. In edit mode in the video file I have the vast array of editting options: delete or cancel. I cannot change the name as it is uploading.. Any way to salvage this as a video camera?

Cannot drag MOV videos into timeline

Hi there,
So i have weird problem now with MOV files. After dragging into timeline the second one, different from the first one, I can't drag any more files. Including the first one, or other non-mov files. If I drag just the first one i can repeat it many times. In this case I can continue with other types. But then I cant add any movs. There is only audio to be moved.
What I can do is open it new sequence, and then use this single file sequence on primary timeline.
This is very annoying.
Please help.

Hmm, am not sure about codec; footage was shoot with iPhone 5. I can check it when I'm at computer.
QuickTime have been not updated recently I suppose.
One more fact I found last night - I can drag those files from new sequence into main timeline. Another words - I need to create new sequence for each single file, then I can use many in main timeline.

How can I move video down the timeline?

New user here. Please can anyone help. When you import a picture into Soundtrack, why does it always automatically go to the first frame of your project title. For example, if I want the picture to be at 10 00 00 00, I will put this in the project title import the picture and away we go. However, I would like the opportunity to put a plop 48 frames before the picture. I thought it would be a simple process to drag and drop the picture as you do audio but it appears not to be the case. I have looked everywhere for a solution but to no avail. I should point out, that I am using ST Pro as a stand alone audio device, that is, not alongside Final Cut. I also work in an audio post production studio and am evaluating the possibility of using ST Pro as part of our tools. With this picture restriction, though, it is looking unlikely. Anyone's help and advice on this would be much appreciated. I am aware ST Pro is audio editing only. I use it for that purpose. However, it is an audio to picture tool. For example, in my game, I put audio to tv commercials. Thus, I need the picture to put audio against. I know I can import the picture. My simple question is why, when you import the picture, does it always go to the start of your timeline. So, if I put my start time at 10 00 00 00, I am unable to put anything before that marker. So if I want to put any audio before the picture, whether it be a plop or tone, I can't. I simply want to drag the picture to another time point that will allow to have some potential audio time before the picture. If any of you try to import a picture in a new title, you will see what I mean. If you don't set a timecode, it will put the picture at point zero on the time line and not allow you to bring the cursor before that. If you set a time at 10 00 00 00, again it will not allow you to move the cursor to a point before that point. If Apple were serious about going into the post pro market they should ensure that this works as a stand alone system. I was speaking to them the other day and mentioned this. As I say, it really does seem peculiar that you are unable to perform such a simple exercise.

I continue to [maintain|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1385395&tstart=150] that STP is mainly a tool for video editors to work with sound in a better way than they are able to in FCP, and not a mainline tool for audio professionals. Some people may disagree with that, and if they can get the job done that's great, but the more I work with it the more I feel this way. That's not to say the program doesn't have tremendous possibilities, and that eventually STP may become a really useful program for you, but regrettably I don't recommend it for everyone you at this time.
The only way to deal with your dilemna in STP is to edit the movie (say in QTPro) before you import it.

Can't move items in timeline PPCC

When I attempt to move audio clips in my timeline, I'm finding that I'm not allowed to. For example, audio 1 contains an audio clip. Its placed in the middle of the timeline and I'm trying to sync it up to the video. The timeline will not allow me to move this item unless I zoom all the way out. Sometimes I have to try and drag it to create a new track before I can move it. Half the time this doesn't work either. Now, this is happening on all of my sequences and I have about 30 to do.

Can't move clip in Timeline

I am attempting to click on a clip and move it. I get a "can't do" icon (circle with a slash) and a white rectangular box icon over the clip. And I seem to be unable to move any clip on the timeline now. I have tried exiting and restarting but with no results.
Any idea what is going on?

Can I move videos I have in another program such as roadshow where the video is recorded to the iPads system, and have it available to watch in iTunes? I have about ten hours of lassie shows I want to watch on my tv through my iPad.

I have an app called roadshow, I'm trying to move the videos I have recorded in there into iTunes so I can watch them on my tv instead of on the iPad. Is there some way to move the videos out of the program without deleting them? They are classic movies that iTunes does not have and I do not want to rent them on DVD it he case of skipping or something. I do not have AirPlay in my house yet, that will come in the next few years. Do you have any suggestions?

Can't load video to timeline

Hi,
I've just installed Premiere Pro on my Mac mini.
I import a video, select a frame and then I try to attach it to the timeline and there's no way to do it. It doesn't display "video 1", "video 2", etc.. I don't know what to do since I'm quite amateur.

It looks like you do not have a TImeline Sequence. You can create a new Sequence by dragging your file on the New Item icon (bottom right of Project panel) or you can create a New Sequence via New Item icon > Sequence or File menu > New > sequence and select Sequence settings that match your file type.

'my shared photos' - can't move video

I have a video saved in 'my shared photos' but have deleted it from camera roll. However, when I select the video, although it plays, the button that brings up the 'message/mail/icloud/' options etc is not appearing so I cannot send the video to myself? I have been able to email myself oher videos form the same folder but for a few particular videos there is no option to move them even though they play on the screen

You can either sync the videos to your phone or select "Manually manage music and videos" and drag them to your phone,

Digital Cameras seem to take movies in not-QuickTime formats. From what I've seen, that is. Is there a Digital Camera that takes videos to .mov files?

Yes. believe most (if not all) of the current Kodak models employ QuickTime .mov files using MPEG-4 compression. However frame rate and or frame size may be less than you hope for.
Or, hoping against hope, is there a Digital Camera that can take videos that are editable in iMovieHD ?
Virtually any format currently in use can be edited in iMovie if you have the appropriate conversion codec or conversion utility available.
PERSONAL NOTE: Would normally advise use of almost any FireWire DV compressed video camera (even an older, "pre-owned" model) over the use of a "movie clip" capable digital still camera for quality, length of clip, and ease of editing in applications like iMovie.
