Can't open After Effects (version 11.0.2) in New iMac (OSX Version 10.9.4)

Just bought new iMac (OSX Version 10.9.4) and downloaded After Effects (version 11.0.2). On opening After effects I received the message 'You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CS6” with this version of OS X.' After googIe ing it, I then downloaded the After Effects 11.0.2 update. I then re-started my computer, but after effects still gives the original message 'You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CS6” with this version of OS X.' Please help! :-)

can not open After Effect. But i have the right Version on Mac

12.0 ist nicht aktuell. 12.1 oder 12.2 schon eher. Das sind die üblichen Probleme mit Mavericks und insbesondere 12.1 hat schon etliche davon beseitigt... Also einfach mal die Updates installieren.

I have a fairly new imac osX version 10.6.8. How do I know if I have snow leapard?

You do, since "Snow Leopard" is the code for 10.6. If you had 10.7, you'd have Lion. 10.5 was Leopard.

  • I can't open After Effect cc

I download After Effect cc, and when i open the app get a message that says:
Adobe Application Manager, required to start the trial version,
    missing or damaged.
    Download Adobe Application Manager again
    http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager_es.
That don't. Whether you uninstall everything related to Creative Cloud and went back to install and keeps coming out the same message.
I downloaded Adobe Muse cc and nothing happened, works perfect

A week ago I could not install Adobe Creative Cloud desktop and help through the Forum did this:
    Close the installation.
Go to Application -> Utilities -> Adobe Installers -> If there is any uninstaller for Creative Cloud Desktop, uninstall it and run That.
Go To Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Adobe /
    Rename OOBE to OOBE_old
Now you need to open library for Hidden users.
    helpx.adobe.com / x-productkb / global / access-hidden-user-library-files.html
    Once hidden library is open.
Go to Application Support / Adobe / OOBE folder
    Rename OOBE to OOBE_old
Try to Restart computer and install again.

You can Also Craete a new administrator user account and then try to install.
It helped me a lot and I was able to install and use. I download After Effect cc and was when the message came out that was damaged Adobe Application Manager

  • Can't open After Effects clips in FCP 7.  Need a fix (and to understand why it happens)

I filmed some footage for a short film on a Gopro3, at 2k, 24p.  I loaded it into After Effects (mac), removed the fisheye affect and exported it as a 1080p, H264, mov file.  I did this to be able to remove the fisheye affect (caused by the gopro factory lens), yet have enough "information" to not lose quality in the correction.
Now I am looking to import this clip into FCP 7 to edit but FCP won't open.  I get an error.
FCP 7 doesn't seem able to open it.  Also, this always happens when the AE file comes out of a PC, and often happens when coming out of a mac AE prog.
My first question is, why does this incompatability issue come up?  What's going on with the codec or file structure details, what causes this?  I really want to understand the details because I'm always using various cameras, equipment, etc and need to be able to carefully plan equipment choices and workflow.
My second (just as important) question is how to fix it this.
    Thanks.
    Will.

FCP doesn't work with H.264 files. It might bring it in, or it might not. It might seem like it's working, but then sync drifts. It might look like it's fine, but when you export different sections jump to other clips. It's unpredictable.
FCP 7 and H.264 do not mix.
If you are exporting files out of AE on a PC, then look at exporting them as DNxHD...the Avid codec. or Cineform. Then the FCP user will need to install the Avid codec or Cineform in order to see the file, but then they should convert it again to ProRes 422...as working with non-FCP codecs in FCP can be problematic.  I recommend those formats over the others, like ANIMATION or UNCOMPRESSED...because of the file size issues.
If you are using AE on a Mac, the same computer as FCP...then export as ProRes right away. Done and done.

I have just downloaded After Effects from Creative Cloud and the warning appeared that the directory could not be created. I need to check the parent directory proctection or permission rights, but I don't know how to find these. Any advice?

if not, what are you doing to start installation?  if you have a cd that's autorunning, close the installation and navigate to the cd using a file browser.
