Can't open certain mp3's or thumbnails on 9300, corrupt media card??

I am also having issues with the phone! Since I updated my software 2 weeks ago my app world stopped working and now I cannot download it after deleting it. About a month ago when downloading mp3's it all of a sudden started having format issues even though the music is in the supported format. My photos that were taken with the camera turned to thumbnails that cannot be opened and that is why I decided to update the software in the first place. Since the new software update I now also have a java.lang.error when ever I reboot the phone. I'm frustrated! Anybody with tips as to how I can get these problems sorted please help! I have deleted all third party apps and the error persists. Is any of this indicative of a corrupt media card??

Normal double clicking or apple O, does not open certain mp3's

I have a few mp3's that no matter what route I go, i.e. drag and drop, manual import through file menu, or double clicking on iTunes mp3's, does not seem to open certain mp3 files. It seems to be random as I can click ten and only one will not open in iTunes. They files don't however look any different or seem to have any major differences.
I can play the files that don't open however in preview, quicktime or logic, so why can I not import and play in iTunes? Any insight here?

Hello. Ever since I installed iLife'06, I can't open certain thumbnails in iPhoto. They are there, you can see them, but if you double click them to open them, you get the 'searching' ring forever. I made a duplicate of one of the thumbnails, and it opened fine after that. What's up?

I just got an iMac and have began to use Safari. I really like it.. but oddly, I can't open certain pages that I can on other browsers. (tested this).

On the xbox log in, I get redirected to the link I provided which just shows a blank white screen with the Microsoft Inc. in green at the top of the URL bar. I get redirected after going to xbox.com -> sign in (at the top right). Cannot understand why.
For mlb.com, I only load the banner in 'gameday', opposed to the reviews, previews, box score, etc.
Makes no sense because on this same Mac, Chrome and Firefox can load these pages.

I have moved & renamed photos.
All else is pointless now. You need to either 1. Return things to the way they were or 2. Create a new library and start over.
iPhoto is a database and records the pics by their path. So if you change that, then iPhoto loses them. You do ALL your work in the iPhoto Window.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

While in AKO, I can't open certain e-mails ERROR: blockedhttps?

While in my AKO e-mail, I can't open certain links because I get an error that says blockedhttps. This has been going on for at least a year.
Help. Very frustrating. I've asked other AKO user and they experience the same thing.

If you float your mouse over the link and glance down at the status bar, does it show the word blocked run in with the URL like blockedhttp:// or blockedhttps:// (followed by the destination)?
I'm guessing that there's a script that is supposed to "unblock" the URLs and the script doesn't work correctly on Firefox. That's just speculation because I don't have an account so I can't test.
As a possible workaround, right-click the link and choose Copy Link Location. Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab, then press Cltr+v to paste the link into the location bar where you can edit it before pressing Enter to load the link. That's a hassle, but I'm reluctant to suggest hacking the page... don't want to get anyone in trouble.

I had a Word .doc that became corrupted while SpellChecking an entire vintage book that had been OCRed. Crashed every time I opened it in Word. I was able to open, strip off the Word Header & Footer (invisible), spell check and save as a plain text file with TextWrangler - BBEdit's Baby Brother > http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/ - no Word-ish formatting, but the data was there in total.

Is there any timeline soon that apple users will be able to open things that need adobe flash player? I can not even play any games on Facebook, I can't open certain files, pictures sent to me or things like forms I news to see when I am not home

I am so frustrated about Adobe Flash player. I can not play any Facebook games, open certain files and pictures and documents that I need to access because not only does this phone not do it but my old Palm Pre couldn't do it either. I have had so many times where I needed to access things either online or via email, or message that I can not even look at because of this. I have to wait until I for home or ask someone else to do it for me which is embarrassing. I rave about my iPhone 4S all the time because it is truly great except for this. When it use to happen with my Pal Pre I figures once I got my iPhone that it wouldn't happen anymore but I guess I was completely wrong. I have had this problem for years and always get a message saying that it's being worked on. Well a couple of years is a long time to work on it. I understand about contracts and stuff but why is it taking a company such as Apple to be able to get it for their products? I get a lot and always want to play the games on Facebook but I can't do it on most of them at least the ones I have tried. So I can not play against anyone at that time I have to wait until I get home or use someone else's computer or something. Please tell me that in the extremely near future that this will not be a problem anymore. PLEASE!! I am sure I am not the only one out there who is having issues and if you do get it available please let there be an upload/upgrade for current phones and not just for future versions of Apple phones. That just wouldnt be very fair to all of your loyal customers and tell everyone to get your products because they are great and end up leaving this little problem out until they by your phone. Especially if they just got the phone they have. You guys are awesome with technology I have faith that you can make this available to all Apple products old and new by uploads or upgrades. Can't open certain apps after 10.10.1 update?

After upgrading to 10.10.1 (Yosemite) today, there's a few apps that I can't open anymore (Safari, iTunes, and possibly a few others).
It seems like all of these apps were open when I started the install (and the computer restarted itself during the upgrade process).
Different user accounts can't open it either (even new ones), and turning off all extensions (hold shift while starting computer) hasn't helped either. Along with repair permissions/disk.
Not sure what's going on.
The crash log is pretty long for each, but they all show this in common towards the beginning:

Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000
Anyone experiencing this or have any ideas how to go about this? [would really really prefer not to do a clean install]

Understood. But from time to time, I have been required to upgrade certain packages at work separately due to vulnerabilities and bugs (OpenSSH comes to mind), so doing an update that claimed to fix some bugs in the native X11 version seemed to make sense.
Upon further examination, an answer was near the bottom of the very same page I'd just quoted:
+In a few words, you no longer start /Applications/Utilities/X11.app at login or launch the X11.app. You make sure the DISPLAY environment variable is NOT set, and then you simply issue the command, or click on the icon, or whatever, and the rest happens automatically.+
This seems to work: I un-set DISPLAY on my system (and removed it from my profile files), logged out of my sessions, and X apps worked without my explicitly launching X11. It's kind of nice to have X working again without having to first launch X11 by hand (or with launchd, if you can figure that out). I have to say that I'm nervous about seeing DISPLAY paths like this again:
/tmp/launch-RUXNTu/:0
... since the last time I had trouble with SSH, it was because this value was being forwarded on to remote hosts, to which this string doesn't mean a thing. But that doesn't seem to be happening now, for whatever reason.

Safari can't open certain pages, can't find the server

On both my iMac and iOS devices (all connected to same Airport TimeCapsule Wi-Fi network), certain web pages won't open in Safari (specific example www.amazon.co.uk).
Safari returns the message "Safari can't open the page "www.amazon.co.uk" because Safari can't find the server "www.amazon.co.uk"".
Opening other pages works fine.
Have tried Safari option "Clear History and Website data" (all history) without success. Have also tried rebooting the TimeCapsule (disconnecting power cord), also without improvement.
When trying to connect to the same website over 4G on iOS device, no problem occurs.
Can anyone help me?
All software on all devices are updated to latest versions.

Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
          8.8.8.8
          8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
In Safari, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
Notes:
1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click Apply in order for any changes to take effect.
2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.

Can't open certain text messages - have BB storm 9530

certain text messages received do not allow me to open them, I can "mark opened" but still cannot access them. I see them in my inbox and I can read the partial subject but that's it. Anyone experience this issue? How can I resolve? THANKS!

This has been common problem. Hopefully they get a new OS released soon. Until then, if a battery pull doesn't fix it, I would consider downgrading the OS. Follow my instructions here:

And it isn't just my phone others can't open them either when on the network. What causes this. They open when my phone is on wifi?

Quicktime Player X can't open certain .mp4/.m4v

I have a few h.264 -mp4/m4v files that QTX can't open, but Quickview and QT7 handles with ease. The files have been made using Handbrake.
Examining the info windows in QT7 on one movie that does work and one that does not, does not tell me much. they seem pretty identical.

Quicktime X is a great little piece of software. However, Quicktime X is very finicky on which codec/file format it can decode/play.
Luckily, there are DOZENS of alternative video/media players and extensions available for the Mac. Some of them are even FREE. Some of the better FREE ones include...

I can't open certain websites in Sarari

I use some websites for work that are somewhat protected, and one of them is telling me I can't open it in Safari and I need Internet Explorer 7 or newer. Is there a fix or something I can do to open these sites?

Safari version?
Enable "Develop" menu from the Safari Preferences.
Then click "Develop" in the Safari menu bar and select "User Agent".
Pick your choice from the option.
If that does not help, enable Safari back as default.
