Can't open files in Adobe Acrobat/Reader

Why can't I open a PDF file in Adobe/Acrobat Reader? What do I do to fix the problem? My software list has Adobe Reader 11.0.02 and 9.3.1.
I've updated.

Adobe is not an Apple product. Post in Adobe forums. It's where the Mac users hang out at.

I downloaded AR DC and cannot open PDFs while using Google Chrome. I get a message that I have to accept the end user license but I can't find it. If I switch to Firefox I can open the same PDF without a problem. I am on MacBook Air Yosemite 10.10.3

Chrome uses its own, built-in (and buggy) PDF viewer.

can I batch print PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Reader X? I have tried from Windows Exploer (Windows XP) and it looks like the files are opening but they do not print.

Try disabling Protected Mode in Adobe Reader [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

I can't open pdfs with Adobe Acrobat X. I get this message:
Warning: Distiller will not process .Log, .PDF or .JDF file extensions
What do I need to do to be able to open .pdf files? I could open them previously.

What are you getting the message in response to? Was this a creation of a PDF that resulted in the message? What are you using Distiller for? Distiller can only open PS and EPS files for processing to create a PDF.
PDF files are opened in Acrobat. For opening PDFs, Distiller has nothing to do with the opening. So I really have no idea. It sounds like you may just be having a creation error since you mentioned a log file. If you were creating a PDF, have you checked the LOG file for the errors? The log file is usually located where you were going to create the PDF, but is created as Distiller processes the file (part of the general Acrobat creation process) and is deleted if successful.
If you were trying to create, go back to the original application and print to file with the Adobe PDF printer. Then open that file in Distiller to create a PDF. Any errors will be shown in the window and an indication if the PDF was created or not.

This file requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to support tracking functionality

All PDF files uploaded to our Adobe Connect Content libraries (hosted) are displaying a window with the message "This file requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to support tracking functionality". I have 2 hosted accounts and both have this issue (which started today). We were upgraded to version 9.1 over the weekend also. Is anyone else seeing this and do you know of a resolution?

Update: We have not been able to confirm whose update (MS or Adobe) caused this issue, but the one of the resolutions (enabled Reader Add-on) has broken something else.
Enabled add-on: Enabling the Reader add-on resolved the issue of not being able to view PDFs, but now prevents the PDF from opening in the application. Instead, it now opens in the browser, which causes links on the PDF to open the linked file in the same window. Reader: In some cases, enabling the Reader Add-on did not resolve the issue until Reader was uninstalled and/or reinstalled.

MacBook won't open pdf files with Adobe Acrobat Reader

I just bought a 13" MacBook and transferred everything from my 12" PowerBook to the MacBook. I just tried to open a file saved with Adobe and I get the following message:
You cannot open the application “Adobe Reader” because it is not supported on this architecture.
Any suggestions?

Yep you need Adobe Reader for Intel. Actually you don't even need that. You could use Preview to view .pdf's but I always use Reader. Don't really know why

Favorite files for Adobe Acrobat Reader 9?

I am wondering if there is a way to add a favorite files list to one of Acrobat Reader 9's toolbars. I have the recent files list set to the highest it will go (9 or 10), but I often go through quite a few files in the course of a day or two, and the docs that I want to come back to usually are cycled out of that list. I would like to be able to quickly access a few files in particular from a drop down menu. Is there any way to set this up?

In MS Windows Explorer you can create shortcuts to files.

I reinstalled the applications. I repaired the volume. Nothing works...

AE can't open files in Adobe Bridge

I have been using CS4 AE for a few months now, suddenly I can not browse my presets in Adobe Bridge. Even if I go to file_Reveal in Adobe Bridge, nothing comes up, nothing_no file shows up. I looked at Adobe Bridge, AE does associate with the Bridge.
No problems with Premiere and PS. Any place can I tweak to make this work?

I went to Edit_Preferences and can see the Bridge be started on Login. The Startup Script shows the Bridge is associated with all programs in Premium Studio. My Quicktime is up to date. As I said before, there is no problems with PS or PPRO.
I have found that if I open AE, then go to File_Reveal in Bridge or Browse Presets from AE, there is nothing shown up, i.e. no response from AB. But then if I open the Bridge from Start Menu when AE is opened, it will show what I requested from AE.
What do you think? Is startup script corrupted? Thank you again.

OSX Mavericks Can't open files with Adobe Products?

When ever I open any of the Adobe Products and hit CMD+O to open something all the options are greyed out unless I search for it in the finder? Does anyone else have this problem?

I had a similar problem (posted in another thread) that I couldn't use the import function on Premiere Pro or audition without getting all the menus greyed out in PP or a fatal error in Audition. I spoke to adobe eventually and they told me a to create a whole new user account which resolved the problem but I'm now spending hours relocating files and downloads from my project. Apparently upgrading to Mavericks corrupted my disc permissions... Thanks apple.

I tried many time, and it really doesn't work.
The plug-in I have is Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280

After I upgraded to Firefox 5, I had the same problem and I did a work around temporarily. I went the tools menu, then Add-ons, then clicked the "Plugins" on the left side (4th one down). I "disabled" both Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280 and Adobe Acrobat 10.1.0.536 using the disable buttons on the right side. PDF files now open again. However they are outside the actual browser.
My guess is that Adobe didn't catch up yet with a new update to work with Firefox or vice versa.

I had Adobe Reader 9. Experienced problem described above. Uninstalled and installed version 8. Same problem.
I have three computers with only one with this problem. PC Windows XP SP3.

I have opened: https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html I click on test page and it downloads Acro_Test.pdf 5..8kb -- psu.edu,then I open the page, the hour glass comes on and goes off without ever opening. The Reader software in my program file.
