Can't open PDF files that have been downloaded

I have downloaded a few PDF files from a variety of websites, but I am unable to get them opened so that I can print them.
What's the catch?

Why would you be surprised? You were syncing your Notes with iCloud or a Mail Account. Synchronization means when you make a change on one device, it affects all other devices that are synched for the same purpose. Like when you delete an email (usually) it also disappears from your other devices as well.

Firefox can't open PDF links that have been rewritten in .htcaccess

I have a Wordpress multi-site, and my problem is that Firefox can't open any of the PDFs that I have there. I get a dark-gray screen and it says "This PDF document might not be displayed correctly", but I am able to download it. In .htaccess I have this rewrite rule for files:
RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L]
The thing is that if I write the actual path to the file it opens it in preview just fine. Also, Chrome and IE don't have this problem.

In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.

I can't open pdf files I have down-loaded from Safari (6.0 and OSX 10.8) with preview or acrobat. I get a corrupted file message. Anyone have a fix?

From the Safari menu bar, select Safari ▹ Preferences… ▹ Security and uncheck the box labeled Enable plug-ins. Test.

Deleteing files that have been downloaded by Software Update Service

I have an XServe that is set to download the latest updates from Apple, and the the workstations pull the updates from the machine. I noticed the XServe was running out of space. I had a look and found that over 11GB of files are sitting in the following destination:
Macintosh HD/usr/share/swupd/html
These look like all the software updates that have been downloaded.
How do I delete these files? If I had to just delete the files in this destination would it affect anything? I don't see anywhere in the software update service to delete the files it has downloaded.
Also by looking at the machine, the System Drive is 80GB, and the Software updates are 11GB's. And I only have 2GB's left on the machine. I have made all the invisible files visible, but still cannot see where all the other data is sitting.
I have used the WhatSize app and still cannot find the remainder files taking up all the space?

Google stopped supporting Exchange for free accounts as of 1/31/13. If you already had it set up that way on the device, it will continue to work. However, if you didn't, you'll need to set it up as a regular Gmail account.

I can not open a file that has been converted from a PDF to a .doc. I have a one year subscription to PDF Pack.

I click on the tool to convert my pdf file to a .doc file. When the program writes it is finished and I can down load the document, I do so. Even though the converted file is listed as a .doc or docx, neither Microsoft Word nor OpenOffice can open it. What is going wrong?
I also click to be able to edit my pdf document, but no commands to edit it come up. Am I doing something wrong?

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. What is the file size of the converted document (and the filename extension)? Do you have the same issue with any file that you try to convert? Or is the problem specific to one file?
As for editing a PDF file, that requires Acrobat. (Adobe Reader lets you comment on a PDF, but not alter its content).

Can't open pdf files that are forwarded from a iphone

Our clients are sending in emails which a few of our users are viewing them on their iPhone. When they forward the message to other users the pdf files won't open. It gives an error message, "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired". I've tried saving the pdf to the desktop then try to open it with no success and the same error message.I've also checked to make sure the Add-in is enabled.
We are on Acrobat X 32 bit Standard 10.1.10 and Windows 7 x64 Pro/Ult. Outlook is 32 bit version. Any ideas what the problem is?

Updated my server to OS X Mountain Lion - and now I can't open pdf files, that my users share on wiki.

I've updated my mac mini lion server to mountain lion server. I have an exentsive use of wiki in my education environment. Everything looks great, except, when uploading an PDF file to the wiki document folder I can no longer download the file - I can preview the file on the wiki page, but I can no longer download the file to my iPad / iBook.
Come on Apple - you did not remove that feature!!!!
Oh - the same problem comes to pages documents etc.
What to do - my students starts monday - do I need to role-back my server?

The problem is not in the Wiki itself but in the frontend version that gets displayed when you browse it from an ipad.
The webpage looks different on the ipad because of that. If you use another browser on the ipad and you get the "default" frontend you can upload just fine.
You can also disable this ipad version alltogether but you have to go in modify the code to do it. This will display the "default" frontend for every device.

You can right click a file in the Firefox/Tools > Downloads window and choose "Open Containing Folder" to go to that folder and delete the file. If that entry is grayed then the file is already deleted.

CPI file HELP!!! I have a huge problem. I just discovered that the files that have been downloaded from my Canon VIXIA HF100 camcorder are all ".cpi" files. The worst part is that the files were erased from the memory card and camera. HELP!

So basically I cannot redownload any of the files (which are all my daughter's videos from birth through age 2) and am stuck with just the CPI versions. Is there a way to convert them? Uploading of Files that have been downloaded with RFBILA00

I read the sap release note BCS 6.0 which says it supports above new function .
But, I had problem with it. I cannot download the extract file from this program.
Is there anybody who did it in ECC? what input option is needed for extracting and downloading the file? Is there any prerequisite configuration for it?
I cannot find any document to operate it.
One more thing, we are using NewGL. If it is, isn't it possible to use this function?

The RFBILA00 program in ECC will create a file with balances stored in ledger 9 (table GLT3). Balances are detailled by partner and movement type.
First of all, you need to customize ECC to active this predefined ledger. This is done in the customizing under FI->Preparation for consolidation
Then you need to set up in BCS a flexible upload method to load this file. The documentation is very good on this topic under

Then go to: data collection/integration with sap systems/loading of RFBILA00 files.
I did it at a customer last month, and it works fine!

I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
BEFORE:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
AFTER:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.old
Note: Please take a backup of the registry before attempting this change.
