I think I may have a Camera Raw plug-in conflict or plug in may be in the wrong place. In both PS3 and Bridge Nikon raw files (NEF) will not open. I've noticed that in photoshop in the pull down menu-about plug-in, I have 2 Camera Raw (s) listed, getting info one is 4.0, the other 4.6.0.30. It appears that my files and .xmp are 4.0 just by searching for 'Camera Raw' either 4. or 4.6 in spotlight. nothing is listed in spotlight under camera raw 4.6, but all my images are listed in the spotlight if I search for camera raw 4.0! I can not open either in Bridge or Photoshop CS3 I just receive the error message 'could not complete this request because photoshop does not reconize this type of file'. any help would this is greatfully appreciated. Well if you have a fairly new Nikon camera PS CS3 will not have the proper version of ACR to support that camera.
You could use the Adobe DNG converter to convert the NEF files to DNGs or you can update PS to a newer version that does have support for newer cameras or you could buy Adobe Lightroom V4 which also has support for the newer Nikon cameras.

From a time machine backup? No. If you mean just a regular file stored on there? Not directly. There are a couple of apps out there where you can indirectly get to a file but it's a pain. If you have need of accessing a file both from the mac and the iPad then I suggest DropBox. You get 2GB free and it's a good way to share information between machines and devices.

I think more likely, it's a memory / scratch disk issue. 1.25 gigabytes is a very big image file!!

Last point...who archives? On my regular email page I now have the Archive icon to the left of my Delete icon which I would prefer was to the left, first in the line as this is the icon I use mostly. With Folders, my Sent and Trash lists, who needs to archive?
I can help you only with the placement of the icon placement -- if you right-mouse click on the toolbar, then select Customize Toolbar, you can move an icon to where you want it to be.

Quando termino meus trabalhos desligo o imac e depois quando retorno pra trabalhar novamente e ligo, ele não se conecta a Airport Time Capsule, impossibilitando retirar os arquivos e fazer o back-up pelo Time Machine, só funciona quando desligo e ligo a Airport Time Capsule, mas acho que isso pode acabar com o aparelho. You can't do what you want with iCloud. You will need to setup remote access to your main computer with VPS or some similar remote access application. With VPS you have an application running on your main computer turning it into a server and an client app on your laptop so you can access it remotely. There are many such apps out there, some probably more feature filled than VPS. You might post in the system forum that you're running and ask there.
