How can I transfer photos from my iPod touch to my laptop.?

    What photos?
Photos synced from computer to ipod are one way only  - computer to ipod.  As they came from your computer in the first place, they should still be there.
Pics taken with ipod are imported as with any digital camera.
Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer

  • How can I transfer photos on my iPod Nano imported from a previous PC to my new Macbook

    Hi all,
Wonder if you can help. I have photos which were copied to an Ipod Nano using Itunes on a PC Laptop. The hard drive on the PC is dead and I have now purchased a Macbook. How can I transfer these photos to my new Macbook please.
I have tried opening Itunes with the Ipod Nano connected and then checking the box "enable disk use". Then opening Iphoto and Image Capture to import the photos but none of these seem work.
Could the fact that the photos were originally on a PC using Itunes to the Ipod Nano be the reason? I am at a loss!
Mac OS, Itunes and Ipod software is all up to date.

The photos you synced to your iPod through iTunes are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnails of those photos.  So if you do manage to get them off your iPod, they will be quite small in size compared to the original ones you lost.
In order to get them off of your iPod, you'll need the help of some sort of 3rd party software. Here is one option.

  • HT1329 Can you transfer photos off the ipod classic?

Recently my hard drive in my MacBook Air crashed so I was wondering if I could transfer my photos that were originally placed on the Ipod Classic with a MacBook Air off of my Ipod Classic onto another Mac? If so how? Thanks

You can do that (in a useable form) only if you had a particular setting enabled when you synced the photos to the iPod.  To find this setting, select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right, go to the Photos tab.  On that screen, there is a checkbox that says Include full-resolution photos.  IF that checkbox was checked when you synced the photos to the iPod, they are stored separately on the iPod as individual image files.  You just need to Enable disk use (on the iPod's Summary tab), and use Finder to open the iPod's "disk."  The image files are in a folder called Photos.
If that checkbox was not checked, the photos on iPod only exist in an optimized format to fit the small iPod screen and they are stored in a special "database" file (to save as much storage space as possible on iPod).  Therefore, they are not in a format that is directly usable, and they are low resolution, so even if they were extracted (using a third-party utility), they would look highly pixelated when enlarged to computer screen size.

My computer recently crashed and i would like to transfer the photos from my ipod back onto my computer. Is this possible?

There are a number of utilities you could have a look at for retrieving photo's, have a look at the pages below for a start. If you do an internet search you can probably find a few more:
    iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
    CopyPodPhoto Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions

  • Can't transfer photos to iPod

I have a 60 gig colour display iPod.
On my iBook laptop, iTunes>Preferences>iPod, "Photo" doesn't appear. Therefore I can't transfer Photos to my iPod.
    I have iPhoto 4.03 & iTunes 4.9.
On another computer "Photo" DOES come up in iTunes>Preference>iPod
    I don't get why it ain't happening.
    Thanks

Have you designated a "pictures" folder in your preferences? Have you added pictures to this folder? What happens when you try to add pictures? We're going to need more information about your problem before we can help.

  • How can you transfer photos from iPod Nano to new iMac?

My friend has an ipod nano. Here's a photo, not sure what gen. it is.
He had a PC that no longer works and has no data left on it. His original iPod Photos were stored on that PC that no longer works.
He has since purchased an iMac and is running Lion OS X, all up to date.
The problem: He NO LONGER has the ORIGINAL PHOTOS, only the ones on his iPod Nano, that used to work with his PC, which no longer functions.
He would like to copy the photos stored on his iPod Nano, to his new iMac.
Using finder, he went to Device, then clicked PHOTOS and dragged the folder to his desktop. It said there was 1.43 GB of content.
However, all that was saved to the desktop was (see other photo) Photo Cache, Photo Database and Thumbs. There are no photos at all. What is he doing wrong? Thanks.

There are a number programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more. Just be aware that what you'll be recovering will be photos optimised for the iPod so they won't be the same quality as the original full resolution versions:
    iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
    CopyPodPhoto Windows only
Tansee iPod Transfer Photo Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
TouchCopy Mac and Windows Versions (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod

I can not get my ipod classic to transfer photos from my ipod to my pc

You need a third-party program like the paid PhoneView or TouchCopy. The free iFunBox may work.

  • I've transferred photos to my ipod classic from my laptop. But how can I transfer JPEG images to ipod?

I've transferred photos to my ipod classic from my laptop. But how can I transfer JPEG images to ipod?

    Hello, Blondet787.
JPEG photos are compatible with your device.  As long as these images are in the same folder as your pictures, then they should sync.  Below, I have included a couple articles that show you how to sync this data to your iPod.
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes

The article below is a little more detailed and designed more as a storage solution for media on your iPod Classic.

How Can i Transfer Photos from my Computer to my mediathek?

You can't copy photos to iTunes. If you want to sync photos to an iphone, ipod or ipad, you'll have to select the location of the picture folder on your computer in the photo pane in iTunes with your iDevice connected.
