Can't upload my podcast

Hi, So I have created my podcast, made a website for it, I use blubrry to add the episodes, I have tested it, it works but I can't seem to upload/submit my feed to itunes. Everytime I try to submit it, It keeps saying "We are experiencing technical difficulties, please try again later. And this has happened all week, can someone please help? Its sooo frustrating. The feed works like i said, i tested it.

The feed now works technically and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes. However I suspect that it might be rejected because of the four letter word beginning with p (which the forum software will not allow me to type). You have marked the episode and the podcast as explicit but even so you are not allowed strong language in titles - I don't know whether this word is going to cause an issue or not (although it has four letters it's not exactly a four-leter word if you see what I mean). Given the wording of the error message you quoted it might be just a glitch at the Store end as I suggested earlier.

  • I can´t upload my podcast to iTunes

Me and my friend have made a podcast and know we want to upload this one to iTunes. But we got a porblem, iTunes says al the time that it can´t find any episodes.
The podcast is upload to soundcloud and then I have put it on a blog at blodspot and after that I have made a feed from the URL in feedburner. At the time I did this I was looking to a move at youtube so I have marked al the boxes who I needed to.
But when i put my RSS feed in iTunes it says that there are no episodes.
Does anyone of you know what´s wrong?

    Here you have som URL
This is the URL to soundcloud and to the episode I have uploaded there
    https://soundcloud.com/klaraamandapod/en-fruktsallad-med-klara-och
I took this URL and added /download.mp3 after, the move I watched on youtube told me to do that. I took the addres with the added things and made myself a blogpost there I got the URL as a link in the title or something.
So here you have my blog and as you can se the title in the post are a link http://klaraochamandapod.blogspot.se .
And then with help by feedburner.com I made a RSS feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/zICOw.

  • Ipod 5 can't upload or play some of my video podcasts

I have been watching Photoshop TV and loving it. Now i want to watch TheInDesigner video podcasts but I can't get them to upload to my ipod.
I can listen to audio podcasts of this show but all the video versions are a no go. I have them loaded up on my itunes (they play fine on my computer) but they will not upload to the ipod. I have tried restarting the ipod and trying manual uploading.
Do you think that these podcasts can't be played on the 5th generation Video ipods? Is it a compatability problem?

    Yep.

  • How can I Edit My Podcast? And why doesn't my new uploads show in iTunes?

My Rss feed is through soundcloud and I uploaded new files and they haven't appeared on my link in iTunes. Also, how can I edit my podcast page?

In fact your files do force a download - paste the URL into Safari's address bar and hit return - they will download rather than play inside the browser as they should. However they do play in the Store, so perhaps they've now instituted a workaround for that.
    Your feed is at http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:127918759/sounds.rss
There are four episodes, the latest being 25 February; all four appear in the Store and when subscribing.
If you want to amend the contents of the 'Description' column and the text you see when you click the 'i' next to it you need to amend the 'itunes:subtitle' and 'itunes:summary' tags respectively. The overall 'Description' which appears in the Store page above the episodes is carried in the 'itunes:summary' tag in the top section of the feed. If you want to amend these you will need to do so wherever you constructed the feed, presumably in Soundcloud. You cannot do so in iTunes itself, it simply reads what's in the feed.

  • Can't upload podcast, weird error message

help ! It's my first podcast and it won't upload. I'm using GoDaddy's blogcaster which they said checked out o.k. I enter my URL http://podcast.apexorganizing.com to upload my podcast and get the following error message - Error parsing feed: Invalid XML: Error on line 109: Element type "input" must be followed by either attribute specifications, ">" or "/>". Huh ??!! I pinged it w/o success, but the feed validator worked o.k. I have an urgent deadline and need this posted sooner rather than later. I've been having problems for over 1 week. Can anyone offer a fix, suggestions or post for me ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !!

I am running Windows Vista 32-bit and had the Microsoft Visual C++ package installed but uninstalled it. Hopefully I can get it back if I need it.
Try reinstalling it (you can get it from the Microsoft download center), and also making sure you've got the following security update for it installed too:
[Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=766a6af7-ec73-4 0ff-b072-9112bab119c2&displaylang=en#filelist]
(Installing that Security Update has helped a few people get past this sort of problem on an iTunes install.)
If no joy with that, post back to let us know, and we'll attempt to get the Windows Update errors fixed. (The other main strategy that has helped people with these errors on iTunes installs is fixing the Windows Update errors ... this can help fix the iTunes install problems +en passant.)+

  • I can't get my podcasts to be uploaded into itunes.

I keep trying different iterations but I can't get my feedburner feed to show up in itunes
    My podcasts are located here:
    http://www.storystorynight.org
and the feedburner url I am tryign to put into itunes is
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/storystorynight/CnUF
I originally tried to build the feedburner link to point to a separate page in the main blog at storystorynight.org but feedburner kept pointing at the primary blog page. So I put all the podcasts onto the main blog page, built a new feedburner feed (the one listed above) but still itunes can't locate the podcasts.
What am I doing wrong? This seems awfully challenging for something that presumably isn't that difficult...

I changed the Podcast Feed URL that I was trying to upload to itunes so that it points to the feedburner page (rather than pasting in the feed address from feedburner).
I am trying this one instead: http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/livefeed?id=r47ek5nq0dgmdto751rokett74
This shows the page w/ the podcast titles and if I click on the "Podcast" link on the feedburner page, it shows all of the audio feeds.
The error I get from itunes when trying to add this page is:
"Error parsing feed: Invalid XML: Error on line 847: The element type "link" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</link>".
I'm not sure that is better - it at least recognizes the link as existing...
My understanding of all this is: the feedburner page should point to whatever blog site I have with all my podcasts, that way I can add new podcasts to my own page every month and the feedburner link will bring the new podcasts to the attention of itunes search...? Is this wrong?
Do I need to create a separate feedburner link for each feed individually?

  • Why Can I not upload my podcast? error on line 36:?

I keep trying to upload my podcast on itunes but it is not letting me. I have tried to use my sites RSS feed and it keeps giving me this error:
error parsing feed: invalid XML: error on line 36: The processing instructing target matching “[xX] [mM] [IL]” is not allowed
I am using a wordpress site, I have only one podcast uploaded on the site thus far. Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated.

If you look at the FeedValidator report, as it has line numbers I can give you notes:
    http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestoringpangea.com%2F%3Ffee d%3Dpodcast
Line 34 - the closing 'channel' tag should not be there, it should appear only at the end of the feed (where it does)
Line 35 - the 'rss' closing tag should not be there, again it appears only at the top of the feed.
Lines 36-47 should not be there, they belong only at the top of the feed, where they show correctly
Lines 49-64 shouldn't be there either, in effect they duplicate what is already above in the feed.
I've no idea how you've managed to get it into this state; it's competely unviable. It looks as if you've got the code of a feed with no episodes, followed by the code of a feed with them. Wordpress ought to be able to construct the feed properly; you will have to go into it to sort this out and I'm afraid I can't advise on specifics of how to do this. To be brutally honest you would probably be best off scrapping the whole thing and starting again from scratch, but the feed may be OK from line 36 onwards so if you can find away to delete 1-25 you might be OK.
(You can ignore the 'rawvoice' error flagged by Feedvalidator.)

  • I would like to upload a podcast to itunes and I would like to include a visual slide presentation with it.  Can I do this and if so, how?

That's my question - Can I upload a visual presentation with my audio and if I can do that, how?
    TIA

To do this you need to make your audio file an .m4a one, which will allow you to add chapter markers and images to the chapters. If you have a Mac the easiest way to do this is to use the podcast creation facility in GarageBand. There are a few other programs: search on 'enhanced podcast' to find some in Google.
When the podcast is created and accepted into the iTunes Store people will need to subscribe to see your images: in iTunes v11 they have to command-click (Mac) or control-click (Windows) on the small image at the top of the window while playing an episode: as this isn't immediately obvious you might want to make an announcement at the beginning telling them to do this.

  • I need help uploading my podcast to iTunes

    Hello guys,
First of all, I not very tech savvy so please bare with me.
I've been trying to upload my podcast to iTunes but I get this error:
Podcast cover art must be at least 1400 X 1400 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests.
My images are 1400 x 1400 in JPG, but still, I can't upload them.
My podcast feed URL is: http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:23141041/sounds.rss
I'd appreciate any help I can get, since I have a deadline to upload it.
    Thanks

Go with a better podcast host.  One that is 100% iTunes compliant like Libsyn.
Here is a tutorial about podcasting:
    http://traffic.libsyn.com/lilith/podcast101_140311c.pdf
Chapter 7 goes over creating a libsyn account, setting up your RSS feed and uploading your first episode.
Chapter 10 goes over submitting your RSS feed to iTunes and Stitcher.
Let me know if you have any questions.

  • How to upload enhanced podcast to itunes feed?

I currently have a popular podcast in itunes here
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=214060101
to which I have been submitting mp3 files. However I just bought my first MacBook in order to create Enhanced Podcasts in the AAC format. I use a podcast host (Hipcast.com) to upload my files and publish to the feed. But they dont allow me to upload the m4a version. How can I upload from (GarageBand) directly to my itunes feed?

If Hipcast don't allow you to upload m4a files you will have to find a different host. In theory all you have to do is to edit the feed file to give the URL of m4a files which you have uploaded to a different server; but it's very probable that like other similar services Hipcast doesn't allow your direct access to the feed.

  • Can't update my Podcast Description - Help plz

Kia ora all - I sure hope I'm posting in the right section, I've also recently uploaded our podcast and am trying to get the main "podcast description" updated (the one you see when you click on one of the many possible podcasts).
I'm using "FeedForAll" but can also edit it in DreamWeaver. I just can't figure out where it's getting the old description from (when I look in the xml file I can't even find the one that is on iTunes. I've pinged it to update and it has just not correctly.
DOH! Any help would be great appreciated

Using FeedBurner can sometimes confuse things, but usually it's worth the hassle, because it so fun to see your stats (It is also great for making your XML code render nicely in a browser.) Be sure to read their terms of use before you burn your feed, though, because you want to first make sure that you are comfortable with the rights they may gain over your content.
I hand-code my feeds and use Burner, and have never run into an issue (I only have SmartFeed and BrowserFriendly activated); some people do have problems though. One thing you need to keep in mind is that signing up for FeedBurner will give your feed an additional URL, one that iTunes won't know about unless you jump through some hoops. This new URL is the one that has to be subscribed to in order to count subscribers/downloads. (That's a confusion factor right there - and it is the biggest problem you will have if you want to use your FeedBurner feed in iTunes.)
One method to fix that problem: If you have access to your server and understand the contents of the following, this is the method I use to keep my feeds under my control. Make sure you know what each of these steps mean and how to implement them before you make any real changes. This method has the added bonus of not needing you to make any changes in regards to iTunes, because they are also automatically redirected.
However, there are other ways to skin that cat, and they can be found here in the Technical Spec (look at the section on <itunes:new-feed-url>). If you are new to podcasting and iTunes, I would recommend reading through all of the Spec, so you have a basic working knowledge of how their system functions (or is supposed to function, anyway).
Otherwise, you can burn your feed and not mess around with telling iTunes about it, but the stats you get won't count your iTunes subscribers. Who you want to count is obviously up to you.
This post got sorta long and wandery, and I can't tell if it makes sense anymore, so if you want me to make any clarifications please ask.

  • Can't get a podcast page to show up in iTunes online

I am trying to get student created GarageBand compositions up to iTunes online so that when a link to their song is clicked on an iWeb page a viewer can listen to or download the compostition.
I drug a playlist from iTunes to an iWeb podcast page and "submitted/published the new podcast page to iTunes and .mac"
It took a couple of attempts, but the page appears to have uploaded. When the links are clicked on the page
    http://web.mac.com/hipmac/iWeb/HIP%20Mac/Podcast/F9031D19-5E1E-467E-9A09-CE28F98 54D22.html
iTunes opens but no results for the student composer are found.
From what I've read in discussions and help, the page can take a few days to become available, but it has been over a week.
In addition to that opportunity, the two other podcast pages have made it to iTunes but don't contain all of the content.
    http://web.mac.com/hipmac/iWeb/HIP%20Mac/Podcast/1C912C17-D0EF-4727-AD99-502E48A 6D7DD.html
has one of two song samples on iTunes
    http://web.mac.com/hipmac/iWeb/HIP%20Mac/Podcast/A80AD904-294F-4043-BDA2-FBEB020 52DE8.html
has one of 14 song samples
I've tried re-uploading the podcast a couple of times and have sync'd iDisk...
    What should I try now?

    MQuaries...
you need to upload their podcast composition to .Mac or another server. If you're loading to .Mac use iWeb.
iTunes just points to the podcasts out on the web. It doesn't load them. You can't have them on your local computer unless it's RSS server enabled and is on the net 24/7.
Create a podcast page in iWeb. The main podcast page holds your artwork and a description of your podcasts. This artwork and info will be uploaded to iTunes. On this main podcast page, you'll see an ENTRY button. Click on that and you'll get a new page that is automatically underneath your main page in the SITE ORGANIZER. Put the first episode of your podcast there, with a description, date, and title.
SUBMIT TO ITUNES next under the FILE menu. You'll get an email from iTunes saying that they are reviewing your feed, then a couple of days later you'll get an approval email with your podcast url feed id. (keep this handy for later)
Then, people will be able to go to iTunes and download students compositions.
    hope this helps.

  • Can't upload my feed to iTS-- please help!

I am trying to upload a podcast to the itunes store. I had already uploaded it once, but needed to change the feed, as it was missing a lot of information. I removed it, received a notification that it was removed, and tried uploading the new one, but the iTunes store won't let me do it. I get an error message stating "it appears the feed has already been submitted."
Here's the thing. The feed URL's were different. Not drastically, but still different. (The old feed URL ended with /feed/. The new URL ends with /feed/podcast/.)
    Any ideas?

When you have a podcast in the Store you don't need to remove it to make changes: you simply make the changes in the feed and the Store will pick them up after a day or two.
As Robert says, there is a bug in the automated submissions process which tells you a feed has already been submitted, even if it's been removed, and changing the title should deal with this. You should also change the 'link' tag linking to your website (you can change these back once it's been accepted).

  • Can't stream my podcast in iTunes

I create my first podcast in iTunes.
Yesterday I added first episode. Now I can download and listen it from iOS app and from iTunes, but I can't stream it from iTunes when I click on a "play" button.
What is the problem it can be?
My Podcast link in iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/ru/podcast/podkast-jusnotiz/id770263884?mt=2
    And my feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/jusnotiz

The link in the feed is correct, because otherwise it woudn't be possible to download the file on subscribing or from the feed in a browser. This URL is correct:
    http://www.jusnotiz.com/podcast/podcast1.m4a
    - what you quote as the current link is wrong anyway. If you change the URL without changing the path on the server it will stop working.
I was suggesting making an mp3 version and using that instead, which would involve uploading it to the server and changing the feed to match, just to see whether the server will deilver that to the Store.
