Can't use Airplay after 7.0.2 ATV 3 update!!

I can't use Airplay at all on my upgraded 7.0.2 ATV3. No audio and no video. I can have the picture up and running on the iPad Air 2 or iPhone 6 and try to send it to the ATV 3. I get an "unable to send video" warning on the unit sending the airplay but absolutely nothing on the ATV 3 screen. Then Airplay unchecks the ATV 3 and defaults back to the iPad or iPhone.
Using the same iPad and iPhone, I just tried to use the other non-updated ATV 3 in my den and there was absolutely no problem. I just tried to send something from my Mac Mini to the updated ATV 3 and it wasn't even showing as an airplay option although it was there Friday night! The non-updated ATV is still shown as an option. I've checked the ATV3 settings and nothing has changed. I've forgotten and renewed the network on the ATV 3 and it's testing fine.
Anybody have any clues? I've checked everything I know how to check!  The only conclusion I can come to is that the update bricked my Apple TV when it comes to Airplay!.

After many starts and restarts, I've finally got it working again. Don't know what caused it to start working again.
Tried to delete/change the original post, but it wouldn't let me edit it!

    Actually, there is a solution, and it sounds to go against what you want until you realize how well it works.
    Seperate Apple IDs is the solution, but you can granularly sign into different things with different IDs.  Now, I'm in the exact same situation as you and saw the exact same problem.  Here was our solution:
    1) Create new Apple IDs for everyone that didn't already have one.  This meant my wife and daughter needed new IDs.
    2) Go into Settings -> Message and select "Receive At..."
    3) Change the Apple ID in iMessage on a per-device basis to the new ID for who ever owns that device.  For example, the new ID for my wife went on her phone, same with my daughter.
    Apple IDs are free, and you don't have to change the ID on every part of your phone.  For example, we still have the generic family ID on iCloud and the store, but we have our own unique ones signed in on iMessage and Game Center.  From what I can tell, this is the best of both worlds.

    Aperture is Apples version of Lightroom. This has nothing to do with Adobe. Ask on a Apple forum. You won't find many people here using this program.

    You already seem to know what the issue is, it is the parallax feature that was added to iOS 7.  From your rant, it appears that your attempt to work around this was not successful.  According to the Apple documents I've seen, they recommend that you enlarge your image (not reduce it).  Make your image have excess space on all sides, which is not displayed on the screen.  This way, when you tilt your device one direction or another, it can shift the image to give the appearance of 3D. 
    As a photographer, I like to use the full frame of my images, but I also know that I need to leave room around the image as well.  I have some photos I have taken that I can't use because I have them cropped too tightly too, but I have others that work just fine.  Just remember that part of the image file is "off screen" so that if iOS has to shift the image up it has some image that can scroll onto the screen.  It needs this space on all sdes, so just make youre images larger, and keep in mind that a portion on each side will be outside the normally visible screen...  If you don't like this feature, you can always go into the settigns and turn it off.

    Of course. If your Mac is compatible with AirPlay Mirroring, you can watch your DVD in your TV with the Apple TV. Read > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 You just have to play the DVD on your MacBook and turn on AirPlay Mirroring.
    If your Mac isn't compatible with AirPlay Mirroring, you can use a third-party app like Beamer

    I don't see why you couldn't use AirPlay as a stand alone thing. Obviously you'll need wifi, but as for Internet I really don't know. Again, Internet shouldn't have any say but it might.
    Test it out, unplug the cable to your modem. If it's a modem/wifi router then unplug the DSL cable or cable internet cable.

    Thanks. I therefore have a problem as I cannot connect my ipad to the Apple TV. When trying to connect via Airplay my other apple tv appears (that is connected only via WiFi and that connects OK) but the Apple tv connected via the Ethernet does not show. I have looked at all the settings on both apple TV's and the only difference I can see is one is connected via WiFi and the other through Ethernet cable. Any ideas on what I need to check out?

    AirPlay Mirroring requires a Mid 2011 or newer MacBook Air. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 If it's compatible, you have two possibilities:
    1. Make a backup, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. Then, you will be able to turn on AirPlay on System Preferences > Displays.
    2. Keep with OS X Lion and use AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com
    Both options work properly
