Can't view published changes

Here's the situation: I've got Contribute on my wife's
machine and Dreamweaver 8 on mine.
Using Contribute on her computer, I edit a page from our
website and publish it. (She's the Contribute Admin .) The change
is immediately visible on my machine, but doesn't show up on hers
until minutes later... no matter what I do. Refreshing before and
after the connection just won't work - even with a Ctrl-F5 forced
reload. If I leave her computer alone for several minutes, the
refreshed information will appear on its own.
I've cleaned out her cache (with both IE and WindowWasher),
and also set IE to ensure that she gets a fresh copy every time she
visits a page. Using FileZilla on her machine, I can download a
copy of the updated file and see that it has our latest changes...
but I still can't see an immediate an update in Contribute, nor in
a browser window on her machine.
I've read the two major Adobe KB articles on the display of
updated pages, but so far, none of their suggestions have panned
out. Obviously, this is not a matter of the host's file cache,
since I get the changes immediately on my machine.
What else can I do on my wife's computer to rectify this
display problem?

When you click Publish, do you get any error messages, or
when you click Publish do you get the "Success, page updated"
message?
After publishing, once you have cleared the Internet Explorer
cache using Tools > Internet Options > [General Tab] Delete,
then click clear history, then browse to your website page, hold
down the control key and click refresh to force a re-load of the
page.
Also, perhaps try another browser like Firefox to see if that
makes a difference.
FYI when you click edit in Contribute, it actually saves a
copy of your page locally on your computer, makes the updates to
your local copy, then when you click Publish it FTPs up this local
copy to the server.

    I've obviously heard that Apple are no longer running MobileMe but I thought it was running until next year.
    Have been trying to publish changes to my website via MMe but keep getting message saying 'can't connect to MobileMe'. Admittedly, this has happened since I upgraded to ilife 11.

    Try this:
    go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
    login with a bogus username and password like "test" and "test". This clears the caches.
    login with your correct username and password.
    launch iWeb and try again.
    If still not working try the following:
    delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home()/Library/Preferences folder.
    go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
    launch iWeb and try again.

    I've skimmed the forums and all I can find is that I need to convert it to a pdf to view it. How do I convert a .pub file to a pdf?

    Ok, I guess the answer is it can't be done.
    I have been given a publisher file to look at, but I am understanding it can only be viewed in Windows, using Publisher, correct?
    I know how to save them in different ways when inside publisher, etc. But I am not making this file or manipulating it, just receiving it. The problem is that I do not currently have access to windows and just wanted to look at this file.
    Does anyone know if Apple is working to make Pages open these? Or Previewer? Why can we open .docx and .xlsx but not .pub? Is there some proprietary license happening here that is not in place on the other Office apps?

  • Can't view published calendar with iCal 2.1 on  icalx

    I have spent several days reading disussions and anything else I could find, but no luck.
    I need to publish my boss' calendar online so the rest of our team can view it , up-to-date. We first tried publising it on .Mac:
    We were able to view it on and off, specifically from PCs, which is what everyone else is on. Sometimes it would work, other times it would say it can't find the calendar.
    I then tried using icalx. I finally got it to work with a "test" calendar from my Powerbook (with iCal 1.5.5 on OS X 10.3.9. Everthing worked fine, the page showed up on iCalX no problem. I then sent my boss the "how to". His calendar is now loaded on iCalx, however it does not work. He is running OS X 10.4, with new iCal.
    I then had my sister publish one from my house computer to test it again, on OS X 10.3.9 as well, and it again worked fine.
    When i click on the html page in iCalX, it says "Cannot find webpage" when I click on his schedule, but works fine with the other two "Testers" that I already had up.
    It seems it is a bug in the new OS X ?
    How can I get this to work? Thanks a TON in advance!

    I too had a similar problem. I published a couple of calendars to .Mac, iCalX, and iCalShare (I had iCalShare grab my calendar from iCalX). I wanted to see how my calendars looked from these different servers.
    I really liked the look and feel of my calendars on the .Mac server but I could never view these calendars from a Windows machine. I also could never view any of the Calendar from the Mac calendar Library from a Windows machine.
    I ended up having iCalX host my calendars.

    I think you are asking about the PFCG change history. Of course we can. From GRC 10.0 navigate to Reports & Analytics-> Role Management reports->click on the link PFCG change history. In the popup page select your System (ERP backend) & Enter your  role name(for which you want to see the change history. Click on PFCG History. In the next pop up ( SP GUI login) enter the credential of the user, that has pfcg authorization in the ERP backend. Finally click on the execute button in the SAP screen. Now you'll be able to see the change history of the role. In fact from GRC it calls the respective ERP system and executes the report "RSSCD100_PFCG". Directly you can  also go to the ERP backend" and execute the report in "SA38".

    ihave been trying all means that i know of in my meagre knowledge of ssoftwares to try and view a document having changes made to it that was emailed to me,but have failed miserably.will someone be kind enough to shed some light on this issue,and whether its even possible or not to do the above on the ipad2.if not i seem to have bought a toy and not a business tool......................

    This sounds like an issue with the app and compatibility so this would need to be directed to the developer

  • CP4: Can't View Published Projects in Firefox or Chrome

    Internet Explorer works fine, and I have the latest Flash plug-in installed. What's interesting is the browsers in question seem to be trying to call up adobe.com. Are they searching for something? Do I need to install something special to accomodate these browsers? When researching Flash plug-ins for the browsers, the Firefox and Chrome pages both direct me to the Flash download page, and I've already downloaded and installed that.
    Constraints:
    - no internet connection on this development network, but I can download something from another network and install it on the dev network
    - no parts of these projects can be shared here, not even the timelines. TS/SCI.
    - there is no chance in h3|| I'll be able to upgrade to Cp5, unfortunately. $$$$.
    The web apps these projects cover will be moving to Firefox, and a lot of my customers use Chrome, too, so I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks so much!

    Here's a screenshot showing my regedit window with the new value already added. To add the value, right click over the white space, select New and then DWORD value.
    It should default to 0 value (shown in the this screenshot) which is what you want.
    I hope I'm not leading you down the wrong path; I might be. This keeps Captivate from trying to access the internet. If your exported project (.htm/.swf) is trying to access the internet everytime you play it, then it might be something to do with Chrome and Firefox not having a flash or shockwave plug-in. I only have IE right now, so I can't test it out for you with Chrome or Firefox. I'm sure someone else will have a good answer for you if I didn't help.

    I have implemented JKM Oracle 10g Consistent Logminer on Oracle 10g with the following option.
    - Asynchronous_mode : yes
    - Auto_configuration : yes
    1. Change Data Capture -> Add to CDC, 2.Subscriber->subscribe (sunopsis),
    3. Start Journal
    The journal has been started correctly wothout errors. The journalized table has always the symbol "green clock". All is gook working.
    And then i inserted 1 record in source table, but i can't view changed data in journal data. I can't understand why journal data was generated.
    There are no errors.
    Help me !!!

    Did your designer was on the good context ?
    Look the list box at the top right of the Designer interface.
    You must have the same as the one where you define your journalization.

    Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • How can I view my iCloud contacts from someone else's iPhone? I don't want to change their phone settings.

    Yesterday I ran into a problem that was eye opening to say the least. I could not not access my contacts in order to find a friend's phone number. No one remembers phone numbers any more. God knows I don't.
    I was on a jetski and it broke down. I was stranded at a dock miles away. I needed to contact my friend to tell him (a) I'm ok, (b) where I was, (c) to bring a tow. Of course I had no phone on me because it would have gotten soaked.
    People were kind enough on the dock to let me use their smart phones to attempt to retreive the phone number and call for help. But I quickly discovered that it is impossible.
    On an iPhone, I tried to use their Safari browser to go to www.icloud.com. When you do that, it simply redirects you to the apps. But it isn't my phone, and their apps are logged in to the owner's accounts. I wasn't about to update the settings in a stranger's phone.
    One guy let me try his iPad with Cellular. Same problem as the iphones. It would not let me use www.icloud.com. It insisted that I use the native iOS apps.
    On an Android, www.icloud.com would simply refuse to work. It would say it was not supported.
    The question I have is: How can I view my contacts from someone else's smart phone in an emergency situation?
    Second question: Why can't I use www.icloud.com on a smart phone's web browser like I can on regular computer?
    I got lucky. I happened to know my mom's home number. Many hours later she was home and I was able to use a phone to call her. She brought up www.icloud.com on her home computer, logged on as me, and read me the phone number I was seeking. But what are the chances of being able to call a trusted person who has access to a computer to do this for you?

    Without "pretending" to be yourself on the other phone (change settings) there's nothing else you can do.
    iOS devices are meant to be single user and can't view iCloud.com the same way a Mac or PC can do.
    You need to find a desktop or laptop machine (Mac or PC) to log in at iCloud.

    Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
    I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?

  • I can no longer Publish my web site changes since I let Face Book be involved in the Publishing.

    Seriously- It just freezes somewhere when it asked to update via FB after I hit publish.  There's no place to get face book out of the mix! I looked everywhere, Preferences, etc , nada! Help!  I've rebooted the program a bunch of times even the computer. Also, now if I hit "publish changes" still freezers.
    How can I reset the Publish preferences so it doesn't ask me for my FB log in , etc . I believe that's why it's freezing. 
    I have a few typos on my web site I'd really like to correct.
    Any help is appreciated!

    Try publishing to a local folder and then switching back to the iWeb FTP.
    If that doesn't work, publish to a local folder and then do the troubleshooting step under "Fix iWeb" here...

    Do a factory reset .. nothing will be deleted from your backups and you will be able to get access to them again.
    The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
    Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
    Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
    TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
    No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
