Can the Acrobat SDK be used to turn off protected mode(Sandboxing mode)?
At times there also seem to be some issues with saving to a network link. When this happens, try saving locally and see if that does the job. Try working on the document locally and see if the issue goes away. If so, then you are dealing with a more complex issue involving networks. Unfortunately, I do not have a solution in that case, but it might be helpful to know if that is the issue.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Can the requirement for a passcode be turned off?
Can the requirement for a passcode be turned off for a new Ipod touch?
Yes, settings, passcode - passcode off. If you do that, the device is less secure, and you will have to re-enter your password for Find my iPhone, and find my friends each time you open the apps.

Need Resolution to Adobe Reader Error 523:523 without turning off Protected Mode
Dear Friends,,

I am using AcroPDF.DLL ActiveX as an OLE object to view PDF files in my application.
https://forums.adobe.com/message/6609626#6609626
When I am trying view Statements(PDF) in my application with Adobe Reader 10/11 versions , for few statements it triggers " There is problem with Acrobat / reader. If it is running, Please exit and try again(523:523)". In few forums it has been stated that by turning off the protected mode at start up " Edit-->preferences-->general-->Enable protected mode at start up" resolves this issue. But the client doesnt want to turn off " Protected mode"due to security reason. Can any one help me with this?

I cannot activate my iCloud backup of my 4S iPhone, even though I have definitely deactivated Airplane mode, and am connected to Wi-Fi. I also have a correct Apple/iCloud ID and password.
Should I delete my iCloud account and set up a new one??
Please give me some assistance with this problem!
Sincerely, BrianritTo unfreeze it, reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.
To troubleshoot your problem with backing up to iCloud, this may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your iPad that is preventing the backup from succeeding. To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, swipe across your backup and tap Delete, then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup. -
Network Save Issue--Can't turn off Protected Mode
So my original problem is one that's been asked here a few times before: when I try to save a document in Acrobat, it makes me save a new version with a different name (so that I have to go back and delete the old version). If I try to just hit "Save," I get the error message: "This document cannot be saved. The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open." I am on a local area network with just one other computer (so I know the document isn't really open), running Windows 7 with Acrobat X. I should also mention that I've checked numerous files and none are read-only.
When this question is asked, it often gets the answer to turn off Adobe's Protected Mode by going to Edit-->Preferences-->General and unchecking Enable Protected Mode at Start-up.
Fair enough.
The problem is, I don't have that check box in my General Preferences menu. It's especially puzzling since I've seen these instructions given to other users with Acrobat X, who have said it worked. Am I missing something? Is there some other option I can chack or uncheck that is equivalent to this? Thanks for your help.At times there also seem to be some issues with saving to a network link. When this happens, try saving locally and see if that does the job. Try working on the document locally and see if the issue goes away. How can I find out the screen size of the users moniter using the Acrobat SDK?
How can I find out the screen size of the users moniter using the Acrobat SDK? I need to know how much sreen real estate that is available on the users moniter. Is there some call that I can make from the SDK to discover the maximun X and Y coordinates?
Thanks,
GregoryCurrently, I am testing on multiple moniters and it is defaulting to the moniter designated as the #1 moniter. For our purposes, this is acceptable. Once the two documents have loaded, the user can move and re-size at will.

i've lost my iphone with passcode lock and find my iphone lock on but the wifi n cellular data was turned off so no way i can trace it so the only question remains is will the person who finds it be able to unlock it and use it as his own ?
is it possible to change imei number?
i've tried for so many times n still the phone is offline so i've set it to offline mode with my message but it never shows the last location why?If the device is found, nobody can use it without knowing your Apple ID and password.
The phone will only show it's location if it is connected to cellular network or Wi-Fi. If those options are switched off, you can't locate the phone.
With iOS 7, Find My iPhone includes a new feature called Activation Lock, which is designed to prevent anyone else from using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch if you ever lose it. It starts working the moment you turn on Find My iPhone in iOS 7. With Activation Lock, your Apple ID and password will be required before anyone can:
Turn off Find My iPhone on your device
Erase your device
Reactivate and use your device
This can help you keep your device secure, even if it is in the wrong hands, and can improve your chances of recovering it. Even if you erase your device remotely, Activation Lock can continue to deter anyone from reactivating your device without your permission. All you need to do is keep Find My iPhone turned on, andremember your Apple ID and password.
What steps should I take if I misplace my device?
If you ever misplace your device—whether it’s just lost or you think it may have been stolen—you should put it into Lost Mode immediately using Find My iPhone.
Lost Mode locks your screen with a four-digit passcode and lets you display a custom message with your phone number to help you get it back. You can also remotely erase your device if needed, and your custom message will continue to display even after the device is erased.
While Activation Lock works in the background to make it more difficult for someone to use or sell your missing device, Lost Mode clearly indicates to anyone who finds your device that it still belongs to you and can’t be reactivated without your password.
To put a device into Lost Mode, sign in to icloud.com/find from a Mac or PC or use the Find My iPhone iOS app.
For more information, read what to do if your device is lost or stolen.

i have my photoshop cc installed on my Mac and my windows laptop is it true that I can only use one or the other now? and if this is the case if my mac were turned off should my laptop now work? I am on the photoshop photography program its just that i have never noticed tho before i have my mac turned on and the laptop PS works fine on the Mac but not on the Laptop
Hello,
see >>> http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html here >>> How many computers can I install on
I quote: You may install software on up to two computers. These two computers can be Windows, Mac OS, or one each.
If you install on a third computer, it will request you to de-activate on the other two computers. You can then reactivate one of the previous two computers, and use Creative Cloud apps on it.
Good luck!

I backed up my iPhone 3GS to iCloud. Activated my iPhone 5 and restored it from iCloud. But iPhone 5 will not backup to iCloud, only to my MacBook. When I try to turn it on on the phone it gives me an error that I must turn on Wi-Fi or turn off Airplane mode. Wi-Fi is on an the phone is talking to the internet just fine and airplane mode is off, but I still get the error. Is this a known problem?
You mean take the cover off of the iPhone, to look inside? I'd recommend against it. Even with warranty expired, you might qualify for an out-of-warranty service, which for 3GS is $149.
Other than that, any repair/service options are going to cost money. You might want to see if a wireless carrier will let you get a new contract & phone.
Out of curiousity, you're just using at as, basically, an iPod Touch, if there's no cell provider? Did I understand that correctly? -
When trying to use FaceTime I can't because it says it is turned off in settings, it then ask do I want to turn it on , tap for yes and it sits there spinning. Face time is on in settings?
Have you tried signing out of your Apple ID, restart the iPad and then start all over again?
Go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID. Tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Then go back to Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID. Sign in again. Then go to Settings>FaceTime>On. See if it will stay turned on and it it does, sign in and setup. -
A question about thread safety and the Acrobat SDK
Hi All,
On page 12 of this FAQ: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/Acrobat_SDK_developer_faq.pdf
It says that Use of any Acrobat product in a multithreaded way is technically impossible.
I'm currently writing a command line application to perform some basic data gathering on a PDF file. The Application only makes use of a PDDoc object, and never calls on any other kind of object (i.e. AVDoc).
The application itself is not multithreaded. All of the logic runs in a single thread.
However, the application will be called (via the command line) from another application that /is/ multithreaded. I think that this might be fine, but I wasn't sure. In this case, would this count as a single thread, but spread across multiple processes? And if that is the case, would that be OK with the SDK?
Or would having multiple invocations/calls into the Acrobat DLLs cause the same issue as a multi-threaded application?
Unfortunately, I haven't done a lot of work with threads before. This might be a very silly question. The application would be called from a perl script that is used to automate several tasks. The app is a console application, written in C# w/ the Acrobat COM components, and Visual Studio 2005.
The console application uses the Acrobat SDK to instantiate a PDDoc object, open a PDF, and get information about the document. It then returns results back to the console.
So, the perl script just calls: "C:\pdfinfo.exe -f=myPdf.pdf" and pipes the result to a log file.
In this case, it never creates a new instance of the Acrobat application, but it does use the SDK.
The reason that I was concerned was that the perl script is multi-threaded. I wasn't sure if acrobat was just sensitive to multiple threads inside a single process, or if it was unable to handle multiple processes as well.
PDL's answer suggests that I should be fine as long as a new process is started each time. This is good to hear.
