Can the customize attribute take the xml instead of a file ?

Does anybody knows how to put in the xml definitions into the Customize argument instead of pointing to a file ?
Or maybe a workaround.

Customize will only take a filename. Even if you could put the XML directly onto the command line, you'd very quickly run into OS command line length limits.
You may want to look, however, at SRW.APPLY_DEFINITION in the on-line help. This will allow you to programatically apply definitions that you can build up and store in PL/SQL variables.

not sure that i understand your question, but make sure that there are no spaces in the path that you are trying to load the file from. c:\My Documents\text.txtshould bec:\MyDocuments\text.txthope that helps.

Can the XML style sheet be embedded in the report file?

My customer would like to be able to share test reports with several locations. The problem is that sending just the XML report file is not enough. The report file points to a style sheet that must exist at the specified path on the destination PC. It creates problems when one simply wants to email over a test report. I have customized the style sheet slightly to make things easier to read. So, can I embed my custom style sheet in each report file?

Hi,
The XML style sheet should not be embedded into the report file. Since XML would represent raw data, you would not include information on how to interpret it. However, there is a way for you to easily reference your style sheet, even when it is on another computer.
1) Go to Configure >> Report Options in TestStand, and change the style sheet file to your style sheet.
2) Uncheck the "Store Absolute File Path" box.
3) Make sure the style sheet is in the same folder as your report.
You can view this on any computer, and now a relative path is now being used to reference the file.

Can the camera reference in a file be changed?

The file metadata show the correct camera but the file is located under" unknown camera"? In one case I shot 90 fotos with the same camera (nikon d1x) same date, same place and 85 are correctly placed - 5 not!
Since I have a backup folder that is based on the camera used, it's a pain if they are not in the correct folder - I am talking about a total of about 12000 fotos shot with various cameras that are missplaced that way!

The camera information is written by the camera and can't be changed in LR. It can be changed with ExifTool and the like. The camera information is used by LR for the various calibration settings.

If I rip a CD and save it in iTunes in Apple's lossless format, can it be saved to the Shuffle in that format or does it need to be converted to something else?

Can the iPad display RAW image files?

I know you can import RAW image files from a camera to the iPad. Will the iPad be able to display the RAW image files?

1) No you can't sync PDFs (Yes I know, this really annoys me too) I can sync and view a 700mb movie but can't sync and view a 1mb PDF, go figure. The only way I have found to save a PDF is to make a folder in my .Mac account then place an email with a PDF attachment into this folder. Now when you open it in Mail you can only view it in Portrait View (Vertical). So trying to read a PDF is almost impossible unless you enlarge it to the point where half the page is off the screen. Yea this phone has PDF support, but the worst, most limited support imaginable.

How can I turn dropped text into .txt instead of .textClipping files?

I like the idea of being able to select text, drag it and drop it, and have the finder save it as a file. But I don't like the .textClipping files that it creates by default. Is there a preference or a .plist flag I can set somewhere to tell it to just use good old plain text instead?

Nope. That's the way it is. However, you can select the clipping, open it, select all, and paste it into a TextEdit or other text editing program.

Changing the xml name for forms

Hi,
I am using XML forms. I am facing an issue with the autogenerated name of the document.
I go to a folder ->new->form->choose an xml form, fill it up and save.
The form gets saved and displayed with a autogenerated (long) name with the.xml extension.
I am having 2 portals on which this is working.
1. on one portal, if i click on the link to the .xml file, the file opens as an xml. Only when i choose edit from the context menu of the file the form opens in the edit mode
2. in the other portal, if i click on the link to the file or choose edit from the context menu, the editable form opens
I want know a few things in this context:
1. Can I choose the name of the xml form created without having to rename the file?
2. Why is the form display different in two portals? Is this configured? If so, where?
3. If i want to use a form only for news items and should not be accessible within folders, is it possible to do that? If yes, how?
Could someone kindly help me with these queries?

If u create a forms in xml forms builder and if u dont reference name property from the property schema to any one of the label what u had created in your edit form then following warning occurs
The Name property is not referenced. A GUID will be used as the XML file name.
in this case whenu create further forms from the folder->new ->forms--->urform and when u store this form in the folder u can find something like this 5565656hdhdhhdh.xml
instead if u create a name label in your edit form and reference it to property schema Name then u wont get the above warning message and when u store ur form in the folder then it will stored as for eg:comapany news i.e the value what the user had entered in the name field of edit form.
I think this name field by default is set to mandatory ---> yes in the properties of the label , if not set then make it yes.

I having this requirement, where i need to print a custom error message in the xml bursting program's log file.
Actually i am having a report where i create invoices and then those invoices are emailed to the respective customers, now say if a customer has three contacts and there is only two valid email id's so what happens is bursting will be successful for two contacts whereas the third contact dosen't get any emails. when this happens i need to log a message in the bursting programs log file stating a custom message.
Two things i want to know..
1- Whether is it possible to write into the xml bursting programs log file
2- If yes, then how..
note: it ll be greatly appreciated if the answer is elaborated.

How do I use a generic button to submit xml instead of pdf?

Add a regular button to the form.
Add/Modify the following script on the click event of the button:

You will need an Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server to make this possible for users who only have Reader and not full Acrobat.

How to submit pdf xml data to a file server

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me. I have created a dynamic pdf in livecycle designer ES, which appears as the requester wants it to. I now just need to work out how to collect the submitted data. Is it possible to submit the xml data to a file server? I have succeeded in emailing the data, but each response is separate xml attachment and would then need to collated, etc. It would be preferable to submit the data directly to a file server if this is possible. Even if it submitted into a database or something. From everything I have read so far, it seems that this is not possible, unless I am missing something. As a newbie to this, any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you.

You can submit the data as XML or URL-encoded data (HTTP POST). In either case you will need to have a server-side process to receive and parse the data stream. The server-side process may be a JSP, a servlet, PHP or any technology that can manage HTTP requests/responses.

PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'PUT_LINE'

Can I send an XML file to the server instead of just URL?

I have installed the XML demos on my machine. I am using Oracle 8i. All the demos talks about getting URL and Parameter from the HTML Page, instead of this I want to send my XML file from Java Applet to server. Then do all the searching as is going on right now in the demos. After this I want to send another XML file back from server to client applet.
Client ----->XMLFILE------>SERVER
Client<-----XMLFILE<------SERVER
Do we have any DEMO which shows that how to send request through XML file instead of
"http://MachineName:Port/XSQL/DEMO/emp.xsql?find=A".
I know that we are not using Java Applets in the demos but I will interact this file with applet, it's not a problem.
I would appreciate if anyone who is really knowlegeable about these demos can answer my question.
