Can the output of a Generate Occurrence be passed in Local/Global Variable?

Can the output of a Generate Occurrence function, which is a refnum, be passed in Local/Global Variable so that it does not need to be wired to all parties directly?
Can more than one party be waiting on the same Occurrence and will all waiting function be released together?

I am not worried about whether it is bad form or not, as yet. That is for me to decide on a case by case basis.
Yikes! That is not a very good way to learn.
Anyways, to avoid any more bold emphasis on words, I will answer your question. Locals can only be linked to controls/indicators not individual wires. If you want to get the effect of a local/global variable with a wire value, search the forum for action engines or functional globals. Those will work for passing a wire value between threads.
That said, what are you trying to use occurences for? There may be (and probably is) a more accepted way to implement what you are trying to do instead of using local variables

  • Can the output of Date.toString() be parsed by a method of SimpleDateFormat

    Hi,
    I am working on J2SE 1.2.2.
Can the output of Date.toString() be intepreted successfully by the SimpleDateFormat.format(String) method.
An example of the output generated by Date.toString() is
    "Mon Jul 02 20:53:27 GMT 1810"
I don't see a Symbol that can handle a month in the form of
"Jul" nor a symbol that can handle a day in the form of
    "Mon". The closest symbols I
    can see are
    - M (Text & Number) July & 07
    - E (Text) Monday
Can "z" be used to represent a
time zone in the form of "GMT"?
Will the above symbols work? If not are there symbols that can be used?
    Thanks
    Harsha

    Try this form.
    SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("EEE MMM dd HH:mm:ss zzz yyyy", Locale.US);

  • Can i pass parameter or global variable in view from 6i form

    hi master
sir can i pass parameter or global variable in view from 6i form
i use view for some diff column calculation within the date then i use

in view but view not create
please give me idea how i pass external value in view
    thank

    Hi Antony!
I feel it may not produce the right results if you
dont include the where clause and using only group by
in view. You felt? Please clear, logical thoughts put here, not feelings.
(It may very well have all the Debit, Credit
for all the Accid where as the user wants only for
r some date range)Data range is determinated in Form by user, so if view should give final data set then you must back
on Ranjana first question: How to pass parameter or global variable to view from 6i form?
And also as Ranjit pointed out, If you have only
accid, sum(debit), sum(credit) in View, wheres this
enddate ??Of course, column entdate (or enddate?) must be included in view...

  • How to find whether the output file is generated or not?

    Hi,
I ran EDI 855 program for one of our customer. The program succesfully completed and it shows in the logfile that few documents got processed and few lines got processed. But the output file in the outbound directory shows the file size as zero.
Can anyone please let me know what could be the problem.
And please let me know how to check whether flatfile is generated succesfully for the request run for any customer.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Venkat,
As every one have already explained other points,in standard SAP there is no provision to determine as if the sales order is intercompany or not.
But if you  want you can create a user status as normal sales order and intercompany sales order. So by checking the status at table level or in order you can determine if it is Intercompany or normal sales order.
Best way is to create a different document type itself which will be exclusively used for intercompany orders. So it will be easy for reporting and tracking purpose.
    Reward points if useful

  • DATAEXPORT - Can the output to the file be changed

    Hi,
I have a working DATAEXPORT calc. However I was wondering if there is a way to change the output that ends up in the file? Currently it is putting the dimensions in an order that does not coincide with my fix statement. I assume Essbase just knows the optimal output order or something. I basically want to change the output order and then maybe eliminate some columns and possibly concatenate two together with a '_'. Is this possible within the calc itself?

    DATAEXPORT "File" "|" "/essbase111/cfa_test_090909.txt";
    ENDFIX

    Sorry Sam,
Dataexport does things in the most efficient way possible so it dies not allow you to order the dimensions. It also does not let you drop columns. The two options you have are:
    1. Export to a relationsal table where you can then have a sql (dts or otherwise) reorder the columns, remove unwanted columns, concatinate columns, etc
    2. write a perl or vb or other program to post process the file to be what you want
I would have offered using the jExport cdf as an alternative since it will do what you want, but I know you are not allowed it in your environment

  • Can the output voltage during boot-up of the CFP-AIO-610 module be held to zero?

During power on or reset of the system the analog outputs go to 10V instead of 0V. Once the system is up and resonsive the default value kicks in and the level goes to 0V. Is there a way to keep the voltage near zero during a reset?

When the voltage is reading 10V, do you have any load connected, or is the output channel connected directly your multimeter/scope? If the channel is left open, that might lead it to charge to the positive rail (10V). Try putting a resistor across the output terminals and see if it still reads 10V during boot up.
    Let me know the results...

  • Context-sensitive help - where is the CS topic folder in the output files?

I have created a FlashHelpPro help file in RoboHelp 7 HTML. In the project setup pane, I have Map ID'd my context-sensitive topics and linked them to their respective pages. I generated the project, but there is no folder containing the context-sensitive topics in the output files. As a result, the developer suggested that I need to create a separate folder in the Project Manager that contains all the context-sentitive topics. Is this actually the next step, or can the developer find what he needs elsewhere in the files?
I haven't seen anything about creating a separate folder in the Project Manager, which seems redundant as there is the 'Context-sensitive Help' folder already present in the Project Set-up. Do I need to create a separate folder, as suggested by the developer? If not, where can he find the context-sensitive files in the output? Thank you.

    Hi,
What do you mean that the context sensitive topics are not in the output? RoboHelp generates your output and (in WebHelp, so the same should count for FlashHelp) puts the context sensitivity in cshdat_webhelp.htm. Your developer doesn't need to worry about this, he just has to get his call right.
For information on calling the help, see http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/calling_webhelp/calling_webhelp.htm. It's for WebHelp but it should be the same for FlashHelp.
If your developer only wants to know which mapid's he has to call, you best give them your map files (the .h files).

  • How to prevent Output to be generated for Return Purchase Order.

    Hi All,
while creating a return Purchase Order the output is getting triggered. Now for Return Purchase Order the business does not want the output to be generated.
So is there a way by which we can have the automatic output generated for normal Purcahse Order but not for Return Purchase Order.
The system uses standard Output Type NEU for message. And condition record maintained for generating output (print/email) while saving.
Is there a way by which this issue can be addressed.  if so how ?

  • Can LabVIEW global variables be shared between UUT sequence steps in the parallel sequence model?

Sorry for this simple question,  I'm having a hard time finding this answer.
If I launch a sequence to run on two UUTs in the parallel sequence module,   can I get both UUTs to run LabVIEW vis that use global variables such that :
    1) UUT 0  executes 20 LabVIEW Vi  steps asynchronously,  5 of which access data from LabVIEW global variables A, B, C (Strings)
    2) UUT 0 executes the same 20 LabVIEW based steps asynchronously  5 of which access data from then same LabVIEW global variables A, B, C (Strings)
I am a little worried that using file globals may have some delays or more of a race condition than using native LabVIEW global variables like in a single labview application perform.
QUESTION 2:  Are file globals actually written to the hard drive and shared between parallel sequences through file transfer?  OR  are they in memory?
    Brad Whaley
    LabVIEW Certified Engineer

    Hi bdwhaley,
Are your parallel sequences only reading from the global variable? Or are they writing to the variable as well? If it is just reading, then you should be okay. File globals are read from memory. Every time they are read, a copy of the data is made in memory.

  • Can we generate the output of SQL Query in XML format ..

    Hi Team,
Can we generate an XML doc for an SQL Query.
I've seen in SQL Server 2000.It is generating the output of an SQL Query in xml format.
select * from emp for xml auto
    The output looks like
    <emp EMPNO="7369" ENAME="SMITH" JOB="CLERK" MGR="7902" HIREDATE="1980-12-17T00:00:00" SAL="2800" DEPTNO="20"/><emp EMPNO="7370" ENAME="SMITH" JOB="CLERK" MGR="7902" HIREDATE="1980-12-17T00:00:00" SAL="2800" DEPTNO="10"/>

Just a little bit of short hand.
Get the XML out of your database, via HTTP
Of course the easiest method is just to return an XMLType from a stored procedure and let the calling routine figure out what to do with it. Instead
of that way though, I'll show you how to do it via HTTP. It's all completely built into 10g and is super easy to use.
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW emps_and_depts AS
    SELECT e.employee_id AS "EmployeeId",
    e.last_name AS "Name",
    e.job_id AS "Job",
    e.manager_id AS "Manager",
    e.hire_date AS "HireDate",
    e.salary AS "Salary",
    e.commission_pct AS "Commission",
    XMLFOREST (
    d.department_id AS "DeptNo",
    d.department_name AS "DeptName",
    d.location_id AS "Location"
    ) AS "Dept"
    FROM employees e, departments d
    WHERE e.department_id = d.department_id
Some people hear web and immediately start salivating about security issues. Let me address that quickly. Just because you have the HTTP and/or
FTP servers running in the database, that does not mean you have a security problem. For one, I would hope your databases are behind a firewall.
Second, with the correct architecture (DMZ, app servers, etc) you can make this data available outside the firewall fairly transparently and third,
just because it's on the web does not mean the data MUST be available on the internet. This is a good way to make your data available on your
intranet. If you are worried about people INSIDE your firewall, that still doesn't preclude web based access. Follow Oracle security guidelines.
Before I show you how to get to your data, let's talk about URLs and URIs. A URL is a Uniform Resource Locater and URI is a Uniform Resource
Identifier. A URL is the way you would identify a document on the net, i.e. http://www.oracle.com is a URL. A URI is a more generic form of a URL.
Oracle supports three types of URI: HTTPURIType - basically a URL (which would be like the URL above), XDURIType - a pointer to an XDB resource
(usually an XML document but can be other objects), and DBURIType - a pointer to database objects.
It's the DBURIType that we're going to concentrate on here. The DBURIType let's us reference database objects using a file/folder paradigm. The
format for a DBURI is /oradb/<schema>/<table>. Oradb is shorthand for the database; it is not the database name or SID. My database is named XE
but I still use oradb in the DBURI. For example, the view we created above is in my XE database, is owned by HR (at least in my case) and is called
EMPS_AND_DEPTS. This can be referenced as /oradb/HR/EMPS_AND_DEPTS.
If the view had many rows and you wanted only one of them, you can restrict it by including a predicate. The documentation for XDB has a great
write up on Using DBURIs.In our case, we are going to write out the entire document. Now that you understand that the DBURI is a pointer to
objects in our instance, we can use that to access the data as a URL.
The format for the URL call is http://<machinename>:<port>/<DBURI>
In my case, my XE database is running on a machine called mach1 and is listening on port 8080. So to see the view we created above, I open my
    browser and navigate to: http//mach1:8080/oradb/HR/EMPS_AND_DEPTS
The created URL will be as http//mach1:8080/oradb/PUBLIC/EMPS_AND_DEPTS
If your database is set up correctly and listening on port 8080 (the default), your browser should ask you to login. Login as the user who created the
view (in my case HR). You should now get an XML document displayed in your browser.
And that's it. It doesn't get much simpler than that. If you get rid of the descriptive text above, it basically comes down to:
    Create a table or view
    Open your web browser
    Enter a URL
Enter a user ID and password
    View your XML
If you notice, Oracle formatted the data as XML for us. Our view returns scalar columns and an XML fragment called Dept. Oracle formatted the
return results into an XML format.
And as a side note, if you look closely, you'll see that my URL has PUBLIC where I said to put HR. PUBLIC is a synonym for all objects that your
logged in user can see. That way, if your user has been granted select access on many schemas, you can use PUBLIC and see any of them.

  • Unable to generate the output for S_ALR_87012048

    Dear All,
We are trying to execute the report  S_ALR_87012048 for the first period in 2015.  We have tried execute this report with report date 25.01.2015 (which is the last day in period 01), but it is giving no data was selected.
Can anybody suggest whether I need to give any further inputs to generate the output apart from the below.
    Co.code : 9000
Reporting date : 25.01.2015 (which is the last day in our fiscal period 01 /2015)
    Dep area : 01
    Sort Variant : 03 (co.code / bs  accounts / asset class)
User able to execute this report in the last month successfully.
We have completed all year ending process as well.
I have tried execute this report in our quality system with reporting date as 31.12.2014 and 31.12.2015.
Do we need to give reporting date as year ending date ? or last date of current period.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad,
I do believe that you should consider the authorization side of the matter carefully as pointed out by Mahmoud on Feb 6th. Please check again the mentioned SAP Notes in that thread.
For example, I just tested in my system, I can trigger a report even in a closed fiscal year with a report date end of each period. The only difference is that I get a information message:
Report date is in a closed fiscal year
    Message no. AU172
    Diagnosis
The report date is in the past.
Here the report date is allowed to be the end of the year as well as any
period end during the fiscal year.
    System Response
In an asset report during the fiscal year (report date for a period end
within the year) in a closed fiscal year, it can be the case that the results
for depreciation or the net book value are different between the historical
calculation and the current calculation for the report date. The reason for this
are any changes to asset-related depreciation terms, such as the depreciation
key, useful life, and so on. In the case of such changes, the asset values are
recalculated with the currently entered depreciation terms.
In an open fiscal year and a report date end of period I do not get AU172 and get an output.

  • How to generate the output of a BSP application in PDF format?

    Hi,
I need to modify one BSP application, which generates its output in the form of PDF. I have checked all the methods in the bsp pages and its corresponding controller class's. I couldn't find any relevant method, which deals with generating the output in PDF.
Could you please share your valuable thoughts on this?

    >
I am using oracle version 11.2.0.1, I have set a cronjob which will run on every 15 minutes and give us a log file mentioning the execution time taken for that SQL query:-
The above query will return the output as well as the time taken for execution of the query. I want to suppress the output of the query and only want the time taken to be printed. Is it possible by set commands. I have marked the output as bold and made it Italic.
    >
How would that even be useful?
A query from a tool such as sql*plus is STILL going to send the output to the client and the client. You can keep sql*plus from actually displaying the data by setting autotrace to trace only.
But that TIME TAKEN is still going to include the network time it takes to send ALL rows that the query returns across the network.
That time is NOT the same as the actual execution time of the query. So unless you are trying to determine how long it takes to send the data over the network your 'timing' method is rather flawed.
Why don't you tell us WHAT PROBLEM you are trying to solve so we can help you solve it?
