Can the Pixma iP8720 print on 230 gsm 61 lb paper?

Can the Pixma iP8720 printer feed & print 230gsm/61 lb 8.5x11 paper without rejecting or jamming? Been using this paper to print photo covers for soft cover photo books on an Epson WF 30. I need a better printer and I'm 99% committed to buying this Canon Pixma iP8720 if it can print on this heavy paper. Thanks, Russ

Hi brassman, The PIXMA iP8720 can use plain paper that is 17 to 28 lb (64 to 105 g /m2) (except for Canon genuine paper), and non-Canon genuine specialty paper that is up to 53 lb (200 g /m2).  We do not recommend using paper that is lighter or heavier than these paper weights in the printer, as they may jam or do damage to the printer. For printers that can handle up to 61 lb paper, we recommend our Professional Photo InkJet Printers.  These printers can handle up to 93 lb (350 g / m2) when using the manual feed tray of the printer. Hope this helps!

  • Does the PIXMA IP8720 use an "USB 3" cable?

The IP8720 does not ship with an USB cable. The marketing highlights that the printer has "Hi-speed" USB. Is this the same as "USB 3"? Or will it accept a standard USB cable.

Can the mac air print to HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 plus Wireless e-all-in-one?

AirPrint is an iOS 5 protocol.  It is not used on the Mac or Lion.  What you *can* do is add the wireless printer to you network and print from the mac using that.

    HI,
You should be able to just leave it on, it should have a sleep mode which it will enter after a while.

Touch ID will accommodate up to five finger prints...it makes no judgement on which five fingers are registered.

  • Can the filename be printed on exported images?

I'm using LR 3.5, and am wondering if I can have the filenames show on the images when I export them.  If so, how do I make that happen?  I am already watermarking a copyright script, which I suppose I could change to include the image name, but that would be pretty tiresome to do.  I assume there is an easy way to do this that I just haven't found.  Thanks!

There is one native sort of alternative: You do not literally export the images, but print them to jpg in the Print module.
Select "Single image / Contact Sheet", set a watermark, maybe also an identity plate, plus tick the Photo Info and choose "Filename" (or "Caption" or "Title" instead for a slightly different use case).
Don't get confused: you need to choose a file name for the print-export, but the filename printed on each image will be the original one.

  • Can the Pro 10 Print images longer than 19". Has anyone done so?

It looks like customs setting allow this, but I don't want to waste the ink and canvas for a 12x24 if it is going to stop at 19".

I think it can do 23" in the custom print size.  I had a friend that told me she printed a 25" length but personaly I never tried to.

  • Can my Pixma MG2920 printer scan if there are no ink cartridges installed?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi elbertf2,
The printer will need to have both ink cartridges installed in order to scan, even if they are low or out of ink.  You can disable the ink level detection function of the printer so that you can continue scanning until you are able to replace the ink cartridges. To do this, please press and hold down the STOP/RESET or RESUME/CANCEL button on the printer for at least 7 seconds, then release it.  You will need to do this procedure for each ink cartridge that is low or out of ink.  Once the ink cartridges are replaced with Canon genuine ink cartridges, the ink level detection function of the printer will be re-enabled.
    Hope thie helps!

  • Can the MacBook Pro print by AirPrint?

Is it possible to print from my MacBook Pro without network? Maybe by using airprint network like the iphone and iapd?

So 1066Mhz is the only ram that works.? As in there isn't anything I need to change or the ram just isn't working correctly? I was always under the impression that ram always clocked it self down to the slowest module installed, which this one does, it just does let the Mac come out of sleep..
There may be some 1333MHz RAM that would work in your machine, but it's not what you bought, and the only way to find it would be to keep buying more and more modules until you found one that worked.  It is always safest to buy RAM with the right specs for your machine from a known-reliable, Mac-savvy vendor that offers a lifetime warranty and no "restocking fee" if you get a module that seems to be bad or go bad.
RAM that is faster than spec will often clock itself down, not to the speed of the slowest module installed, but to the speed the machine's architecture is designed to use. But it doesn't always work — not even when it appears at first to work. And there's never any benefit to installing faster-than-spec RAM, because it never speeds up the machine's operation at all.

  • How can I set up printer for "Other" sizes of paper? Example 4.5"x12"

Printer HP Deskjet 3050.  I have labels on a template for Corel Draw.  I can set the 4.5x12 size in the graphic program but can't find the setup for "Other" sizes in the printer setup.  It doesn't even cover labels.

I don't know what operating system or driver version you are using but try this:
Click on the Windows Start button and select Control Panel.
In Control Panel, go to Printers.
Right click on your printer and select Printing Preferences
    Click on the Features tab.
Look for a Paper Size drop down box. One of the selections should be Custom and you should be able to specify your dimensions there.
I am an employee of Hewlett Packard.
