I have a PM G4 AGP with a dual 900Mhz processors and 2 HD's one 80 gig and one 120 gig, I also have an ibook g4, my question is simple, sort of, i want to set up my PM G4 AGP as a server and store it in an out of the way closet in my home and access the HD's via my lap top ibook. both are running the latest version of tiger and i have a wireless network det up in my home, where the PM G4 is connected to the wireless router via ethernet cable and the ibook connects via airport. can this be acheived and how, i have connected to the agp via the ibook by using the "go" portion on the finder menu and selecting the connect to server dialogue, then entering the name of the PM G4 but accessing files is slow and unreliable at best, i believe that this can be done as my office has a room with just desktop towers in it that we all connect to to access all information and files via our laptops or desk terminals, can i do a similar set up with the equipment i have and how?

Hello! Sorry you haven't received an answer to your question. I think you would get a better response in the Tiger 10.4 forum. What you are trying to do is certainly possible with networking although I cannot tell you exactly how to get everything working as I have no need for networking myself. The weakest part of your idea is the "in the closet" idea which will certainly cause problems as being shutup in a closet will cause the machine to overheat and fail. Tom

No, this canot be done, afaik. When your camera or card is connected, you will see the thumbnails in the camera pane, but not full size preview. So to browse your photos on the iPad you will need to import them to your camera roll. But you need not delete them from the camera or card after importing, so you might simply import selected photos to your camera roll from the camera grid and then delete them again from the camera roll after importing and browsing, without removing them from the card/camera.

You can configure the AirPort Expess to "Join a wireless network" and enable the Ethernet port so that Ethernet devices will be able to connect.
In order to print from the iOS devices, you will need to have an application like Printopia installed on your Mac. The Mac must be active when you want to print.

There is a free trial available for Printopia, so make sure that it will work before you buy the AirPort Express.

When connecting the Camera Connection Kit to a camera or SD card all you see are the thumbnails of the photos. I suggest you review those, select the photos you might want to see full screen, then import them to your iPad. After viewing them you can always delete them if you no longer want them on your iPad.
I also suggest Keeping the photos on your camera or SD card until you import the to your computer and back them up to at least one other location.

Let me see if I've gotten this right! You want to remove an account from BOTH machines? Do this for your new machine first, then for the other.
Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen, System Preferences, Users and Groups (under Systems), unlock the lock in the window if its locked (you need to know the password), select the user that you wish to remove, and click the - sign next to the + sign for Login options. A window will pop up with some options. Select Delete this user and securely, and click 'Delete user'.
After this, do an update from the App Store.
Thats all there is to it.
For the other machine repeat the process except for one thing. Before you delete the user in this case YOU, you will have to give Administrator priviledges to your son bu checking the box 'Allow user to administer this computer'.
Do NOT do anything from Finder ... if you dont know how to fix the consequences of the problems caused.
There is no need to unauthorize your iTunes account on your new machine. Do it on the old machine though.

Chris, The sequence number is the first column of numbers, to the left of the Name column. It always goes 1, 2,3 etc. It is not the same as the Track Number, which has its own column.
As a precaution before burning, make sure that Shuffle is tunred off, and that you right-click the playlist name and choose 'Copy to Play Order" (although technically they should not affect the burn).

Did you buy from the App Store? When you downloaded Aperture from the App Store, you only need to sign into the App Store with the Apple ID you used to buy Aperture and to download it to your Mac Book Pro from the "Purchased" tab at the App Store. Your licence covers the installation on all your Macs for private purposes.
If you bought a licence key from the Apple Store, not the App Store, copy the installer you downloaded to your Mac Book Pro and run it there. Then unlock Aperture with your licence key.

I have a document with lots of lists with five or six items in them peppered throughout the text.

One imperfect option would appear to be to use 'Keep with Next:' X lines, and set X to equal the number of items in my largest list minus 1. This would have the desired effect of keeping the list together, but would have the undesireable effect of keeping the next X number of lines of the next paragraph(s) with the list.
Surely this would be quite a common design aim.
Any tips?

Five minutes testing seems to confirm that this still has the effect(

in certain circumstances) of 'dragging' the list onto the next page if there is a body text paragraph following it .
It certainly isn't as bad as I originally posited, in that it is only a line (or two, depending on how one likes to set the keep preferences for the body text style), but I suppose I was expecting an option to ensure that all elements in a list are kept together without that rule being associated with any text that followed the list in the document.

When I attempt to open a new tab by clicking the "new tab" button on the tabs bar, the tab will not open. Can this be fixed and how?

When I open my Firefox browser, the normal 1 tab comes up. But when I attempt to open new tabs with the "new tabs" button, a new tab will not open. I have also tried right-clicking on the tabs toolbar but tabs will not open. The only way I can get a new tab to open is by right-clicking on a link and selecting the "open new tab" option in the right-click menu.

The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13 version. Disable that extension or un-install it.

particular vaue? i.e. "no"

direction
