Can we enable Info Objects as input in the Input Ready Query...

Hi Folks,
As I wanted to implement Input Ready Query for Planning in which User has to enter Charactersitc Values apart from Keyfigures.
Per Example:-
Project Number and Budget are Fields in Input ready query. Here user wanted to enter Project Number and Budget values Manually.
Is it possiable, if yes, can you give me your idea how to implement this scanario in IP by creating Aggregation level or Input ready query.

In my business case is here only one time selection only not for every row selection.
Before post this i was created One Planning Cube>on top of this i created 4 Aggregations Levels>created Planning Filter with respective aggregation Levels > Created 4 Input Ready Queries with respective 4 aggregation levels>Created one web template>used Tab Strip Container Web item and assign 4 Input ready queries to 4 data providers>Created Variables for Exe Department in Inputready queiry and assigined to Data Providers in WAD.
Now my Web template is asking user input and giving Exe Department values and then entering to out put where user can able to give values and save plan values. But Exe Department characterstic is also displying in Coloum area which should not be displyed in my case. becase of whater characterstics assigned to Dropdown they should not appereard in Coloum area.
How can i do this.? Can you provide your views...

You probably should not be using a keyboard bluetooth profile for a scanner, I am not a developer for apple so do not know the location for you to find out the correct profile you should be using for an input device that is not a keyboard. Sorry,

Info Object Not seen in the catalog

BW experts,
I installed the infoObject 0SHIPPTYP from the Business content. But I am not able to see this in the info object catalog. Can anybody tell me if there is something to be done?

Thanks Bhanu, But no, it has not gone to the unassigned node. Bhanu I remember there was some function module to run in case of these scenarios (i.e when you install objects from Business content and they dont appear in RSA1)....I dont remember what it was......do you or anybody know this?

Info Object is missing in the Cube available list.?

Hi Experts,
I have one standard SAP Delivered Info object which is available in RSA1. But when I'm trying to create a Cube with the available field list., there its not getting appear for the selection.!!
So please clarify me what needs to be done in this case.
This Infoobject is available in the Active Version and assigned in the proper Info area.

So many thanks for the reply. As my Dev systems was down. I cudnt able to change the settings. And today I did the change and tried actiavting the object. But the activation has failed bcz of the following reasons.

I dont think there is a logic behind your requirement. If multiple persons are allowed to work on one file, then whose modification has to get saved as a final copy. Even in MS office documents also, you will be notified/prompted if you are opening at the same time some one else is already working on the same. Please clarify your requirement more.
If i presume that if you are talking about the Xcelsius output file such as word, pdf, etc.,. then it is clear that all can open the same file in read only mode except the one who is opening the same First. Anyhow they cannot modify the SWF contents. Only header or footer can be inserted.
Hope this is clear. Please revert on your exact requirement.

How can I enable my copy of Aperture on the App Store?

Here is my issue:
I purchased Aperture 2 for $299, later I paid $99 for the upgrade (DMG download) to Aperture 3. I just got a Macbook Air and I would love to be able to just use the App to install all my apps. Right now I would have to use my Aperture two disk (which I don't have a DVD drive anymore) then find the Aperture 3, download and upgrade.
Can Apple please give me a redeem code to get the App Store version of Aperture for free? It seems pretty fair, right?

I am getting the problem in process chain hirachies. Info Object 0COSTCENETER hier loading the data through process chain sucessfulyy completeed, when saving that hieracies process chain i am getting the error . the problem is " Alpha conversion in node 00000010 for info object 0COSTCENTER".

You can solve by writing an alpha conversion routine in the transfer rules for that infoobject and then load the data.

Info Object lengths Desperately needed.

Dear Gurus,
Please dont think this question as a simple question. I desperately need your inputs.
What are the lengths of info objects according to SAP name space and Customer name spaces. I can see some Info objects starting with 0 having as long as 11 characters. And when i try to create one i am able to give only 9 characters. And when I searched in RSD1 for object lengths there i can see some as long as 14 characters eg: /BA1/C35DATDOC
Please tell me clearly what is the maximum length an info object can have.   I tried to read the documentation from the following link. but I am not able to understand things clearly.

SAP-delivery (Business Content) namespace:
·        Objects beginning with 0
·        Generated objects in the DDIC beginning with /BI0/
Customer namespace:
·        Objects beginning with A-Z
·        Generated objects in the DDIC beginning with /BIC/
Partner-specific namespace and customer-specific namespace:
·        Object begins with /XYZ/ (example)
Special SAP namespaces for generated objects:
·        The prefixes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 are required in BW for DataSources and InfoSources in special SAP applications.
·        The prefix 9A is required for the SAP APO application.
When you create your own objects, therefore, give them technical names that start with a letter.
The maximum permitted length for a name varies from object to object. Typically, 9 to 11 letters can be used.

Error while adding an Info Object in an Info Cube

Hi Experts,
I am trying to add one InfoObject to my info cube but I get following error:
"InfoObject GSMBUHR is only allowed as an attribute (not in InfoCubes)"
The Data Type of the InfoObject is TIMS.
The Reference Char. for it is 0TIME
And in other Properties Attribute only is checked.
but its not maintained as an attribute of any InfoObject as I checked in where used list for this InfoObject.
Please let me know to add it in cube.

u will not be able to add an 'attribute only' info object as characteristic in the cube
it can only be added as an attribute in another master data characteristic. so if u still want to include this info object , u need to unchecck 'attribute only' flag.

Restricting Authorization for a specific Info-object

Dear All,
I have a scenario where I have to restrict the account managers by specific channels.
I have 2 info-objects, Sold-to party and Sales Channel. Sales Channel is defined as attribute of the the Sold-To Part info-object.
I was exploring the BI authorizations concept in SCM 2007.
I created a authorization called "Test" and assigned the info-object Sales Channel in the authorization and restricted it for one value. This authorization along with 0BI_ALL I have added to the role under BI authorizations.
However in interactive demand planning, I cannot restrict by the sales channel. It allows me to load data for all the channels.
If I remove 0BI_ALL object, then I cannot load anything in interactive planning.
Does anyone have a step by step proceedure for using the BI authorization concept?

Yes, 0TCAACTVT (activity), 0TCAIPROV (InfoProvider) and 0TCAVALID (validity) have to be made authorization relevant. For the info objects you want to use to control security, also make them authorization relevant in RSD1, imagine the object you want relevant is ZZ_VKORG (sales organization).
Then use RSCEADMIN transcation and 0BI_ALL will include the objects from above, copy 0BI_ALL into a object such as Z_1000 and then change the value for the specific info object that you want to control, imagine that you want sales org 1000 only to be allowed within Z_1000.
Now, you have 2 choices: You can use the normal security maintenance (SU01, PFCG) and you can asssign RSRS_AUTHBIAUTH and set BIAUTH requal to Z_1000 or you can use user maintenance directly within RSCEDAMIN and assign Z_1000 to the user. Either way, it becomes part of the authorization of the user.
You may find that you need to introduce colon authorization concept ( for mixed levels of data and that is just a matter of adding a second line to the allowable values and setting it like "EQ :".
Things to consider:
1. This authorization concept is water tight and will do everything you need, but will do at the expense that if you don't model it first, you will kill yourself trying to make it right. This becomes evident when you trace a security issue (via RSCEADMIN) because the way BI7.0 works is that it will build a minimized superset of authorizations, so it is best to know where you want to get to, rather than starting off by where you know you need to go.
2. To control change or display mode, you will need to influence 0TCAACTVT, even though you might think to use C_APO_SEL3 for ACTVT, the BI7.0 concept works within the BI space and 0TCAACTVT doesn't impact it.
3. If you activate more info objects, 0BI_ALL will get updated automatically but your custom authorization objecst will not. So, it is best to activate them all at the same time so that you don't have to manually change them.
4. Do the work in development and transport it to the TEST/QA/PROD environments, there are transprt tools within the RSCEADMIN.
This is probably enough to get you going, reply back if you have specific questions or issues.
I've been thru this in a painful way, sometimes the best things learned are learned the hard way

How to remove the space in the info object level?

I created a Master Data info Object and gave the data type as Char and length as 30.
From the source system I am getting the data of length 9. But at PSA level I am getting some erroneous records.
Example: Data from the source system 'a12345678'
Data in PSA 'a12345678b' -
*** where b - Blank
With out changing the length how can I remove the spaces (Blank)?
Can any one suggest me how to remove, where and what to apply ?
I need to do any settings at the info object level or at the Transfer Rule?
Please provide the each and every step to resolve my problem.
