Can we run oracle Forms 5 Application with 10G in Client/Server?

Hi All,
Can we run oracle Forms 5 Application with 10G in Client/Server
Mode?
Regards
Gaurav

In theory you can run it 2 tier - which means that you have the client (the machine the user is sitting at) being the same machine in which the forms application server is running. So yes. But specifically, we don't support a client server runtime anymore. 6i was the last version.
With 10g you will be running through a browser.

  • How can i run my form application on the other site?

how can i run my form application(already compiled) on the other computer without developer/2000 environment?
    What should i do ?
    Thanks in advance!

Well you have to install ORACLE developer runtime on your client side. then just copy your complied forms (fmx) files to your client machine and set it up to run.
    Hope this helps

  • Can we run 32 bit application over 64 bit windows server 2012 ?

Can we run 32 bit application over 64 bit windows server 2012 ?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your question.
Since the two cases that you posted are the same, I will merge them so that you can get a better assistance. Thanks for your understanding
    and support.
In addition, according to your question, it depends on the applications. Some applications designed for the 32-bit version of Windows
will work on the 64-bit version of Windows, but some are not. Before you install the application, you’d better check if it is compatible with 64-bit version of Windows Server 2012.
    Best regards,

  • Run Oracle Form Application from a JSP File.

I have a complete customized application made on Oracle Forms (10g) and I have .fmb and .fmx files, now problem which I am facing is I have to open the Oracle Form Application from my JSP page (which is used to login the user). • Can i use forms 9i or 10g for client/server applications

Right now, we are using oracle 9i DB and developer suite 10g. I have to build a client/server application. In one of the OTN articles, it says that from forms 9i onwards, it's not supporting client/server applications. Do i have to use 6i for this.
    Thank You.
    Sree.

That's right. Only web deployment is support from 9i onwards. Bad decision since Oracle seems to ignore their customer's view

  • Can I run 4 super drives with my Mac Mini Server

I have Lion Server downloaded to my Mac Mini (set up as a TV server) and would like to be able to access the 4 USB Super Drive ports via other Mac Mini's in other rooms, 2 Apple TV's if possibe through Apple TV software and maybe Macbook Pro via AirPlay. Are these things possible. The Mac Mini Server is the Best Home television distribution network. Cheaper hardware and fast internet connection based on devices. The above is my goal.
    My individual questions...
Can I place 4 Super Drives in the 4 USB slots and run them?
What is the most effiecent way to be able to server those drives on ONLY my Apple Network (other Mac Mini and 2 Apple TV's)
Can I access multiple drives at once from different devices on my Apple Network?
Can I restrict access to teen and child users based on the TV Rating displayed on DVD in Super Drive? (ex: iTunes recognizes CD's by times of songs and digital fingerprint when I input my Store bought CD or adds it to the Database if its a new title.)
    These would help so much!
    Thanks,
    Stefan
Have any questions on how to turn your Mac into a home Multimedia System, ask.

    no
a dvd drive can never be shared over a network in order to play the dvd drives content
the dvd encryption makes this imposible
you have to rip (which is illegal) each dvd disc to a computer in order to do what you wish to do
and it's not an apple thing it's the case no matter which computer you own

  • Why Other Browser cannot run oracle forms without IE.

Why Other Browser cannot run oracle forms without IE.
i want to use other browser for oracle form like firefox, google chrome etc not IE.

    Hussain Afridi wrote:
Why Other Browser cannot run oracle forms without IE.Let aside we don't know what forms version you are using, your statement is simply wrong. I am running Forms 10gR2 with Firefox for quite some time (from 2 to 12 and now with 10.0.7 ESR). So I know for a fact that you can run Forms with other Browsers then IE. Also why would Oracle certify other Browsers (which they did) if it wouldn't work in the first place?
So to answer your "question": forms most certainly won't work on FF on your side because you didn't configure your formsweb.cfg properly. For newer Versions of Fírefox you'd have to use the Sun JPI instead of JInit:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/documentation/forms-jre-131772.pdf
Also if you'd have used the forum search it would have come up with some informations on what to do; e.g.
Running Oracle Forms applications using  Firefox 3.6
So to sum it up you should reprhase your original question to:
How do I use the forum search/google to search for informations already provided a hundred times?cheers

  • Running Oracle Forms 10g on 30 inch monitors

    Hi!
Oracle Forms application (10g) will not work good on 30 inch monitors. (Running NATIVE, suns javaengine)
Most of our customers is running on 24 inch monitors with no problems.
Has anyone had the same problem? Solution?
    Regards
    Tobias

As I mentioned, you need to install the 10.1.2.3 patch set. Additionally, you can find over 110 more Forms fixes in Patch ID 9593176. This patch requires that 10.1.2.3 be installed first.
One last comment, IE 9 and FF 10 are not supported for use with Forms 10.1.2.x. Also, JRE 1,6,0_30 is not certified for use with Forms 10.1.2.0. Version 10.1.2.3 would be required in this case. I am not suggesting that your configuration won't work, but rather because it was not certified by Oracle there is a possibility that it will not work correctly in some instances. Because those browsers were never certified, it would be up to you to prove that the same problem reproduces in a certified configuration if you expected Oracle Support to assist. That said, Forms/Reports 10.1.2.x is no longer entitled to Error Correction Support, so I guess it really doesn't matter what configuration you use as for the most part you are on your own.
The current Forms/Reports version is 11.1.2.0

This tells me you are using a 3rd party or locally developed Java Bean to perform some type of print function. Is this correct?
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed.Does your printtext.jar Java Bean need to open an HTTP connection in order to print?
Have you been able to print in the past using this Java Bean? Where did you get the Java Bean?

Honestly, you need to list the following minimum information when you post a question; it gives us all or most of the information we need to help you and it eliminates the need for us to ask for this information. Please always include:
    * Forms Version (eg; 10.1.2.0.0 not 10g)
    * Java Version
    * Client OS version
    * What you were doing when the error occured.

  • Unable to run Oracle Form Builder from Designer 10g

I am using Windows XP with Oracle Designer 9.0.4.5. From Design Editor, I select Run -> Oracle Forms, nothing happen. I am able to open Form Builder manually (C:\ORACLE\904\bin\ifbld90.exe). After I generated a module (form) from Designer, I have to open the FMB manually from Form Builder. In Designer 9i, I am able to open Form Builder from Designer. Is this a bug for Designer 10g?
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Thanks for the response, Suresh,
I believe this is an installation/configuration issue.
I installed Oracle Developer Suite 9.0.4, which includes Form Builder, Report Builder, and Designer. System Path contains the ORACLE_HOME (c:\oracle\904\bin). I am able to start Form Builder from DOS command (ifbld90.exe). I am also able to start Report Builder (rwbuilder.exe) and Designer (des2k61.exe) from DOS. I am able to Run Oracle Report Builder from Designer, but just not Form Builder. I also checked the Windows registry settings and they seem alright to me.
    thanks,

I don't believe that Forms will be certified on WLS until 11g based on a ppt I saw at Oracle Open World. However, you'll need to get confirmation on that from someone with Forms knowledge. Their forum is here:
