Can Windows XP use a different sound card for itunes - I want to use a sound card for itunes and another for all ther apps

To the best of my knowledge, Windows is not capable of setting a specific sound card based on the app being used, it's all or nothing.
Try a google search or search the Microsoft site.

I recorded some tracks, now it is not working. I have checked GB Preferences, Audio/MIDI > Audio Input > Built In Microphone.
All other apps can use the mic. Dictation, Skype etc. can use the mic!

I have foud the solution - rather stupid. The system setting for audio input was at 70%, increasing it to 100% solves the problem!

TS1292 I really dont know were the card is .I just want to move on past the redeem section and buy or get free apps as I am stuck with about 25 choices and I am tired of trying to just move forward

Not entirely sure what the problem is - is this an existing account or are you trying to create a new account ? If you want to be able to buy apps then you need a payment method on it. If you are trying to create a new account and you don't have a gift card or credit card with you then you can follow the instructions on this page for creating a new account without giving a credit card number (you can then add payment details if/when you want to buy something and not just get free items) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534

If you're positive the information is correct, ask the issuing bank why the transaction is being rejected.
You're getting this error because the store can not authorize the card with your bank.

How can I get Firefox to except the home page that I want to use

I have clicked and dragged the icon a hundred times, and still when I click on Firefox a previously set up home page appears.

Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

It will not do anything (other than call 911) until you activate it with a microSIM. Look into an iPod Touch instead.

Homesharing has issues that have not been fixed over several versions of itunes and ios.
Only kind of fix is go back through your library and retag it.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPhone to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPhone under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

I got my Z1 two days ago and is beginning to get use to it. (very nice phone)
However
There are one thing i miss from my iPhone and that is different notification sounds
Is it possible to use a sound for SMS/MMS and another for email and another other things?

You can have diffenerent SMS tones to other notifications without extra apps.
To change just the SMS tone goto the SMS (messaging) app, press the 3 dots in the top right and select settings. Select the Notification Tone menu item to change the message tone.
You can change the other notifications tone by going to the Settings icon in the main menu and going to Notifications within Sounds.

You can use one ID for the iTunes store account where you buy music, and another for an iCloud account.

this will not work. Numbers does not provide a timestamp. you can, however, enter the formula "=now()" in any cell, then copy that same cell, then paste (using the command "Edit > Paste Formula Results"
If you need a time stamp often,
make a single cell table with the formula (mentioned earlier).
and copy and paste as needed

As long as the apps are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 . If you download them to your computer's iTunes you could then try restoring to your backup and see if that restores them and their settings/content back to your iPhone - a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings, so for the restore to work fully iTunes needs access to the apps so that it can restore them.
