Can you clone Remote System key mappings?

We have 2 Remote Systems set up for our MDM repository with key mappings for 60 tables. I now need to add an additional Remote System which is similar to one of the existing ones, but with a few different values. Is there any way I can clone the existing one or do I have to go through all 60 tables one by one, export the info, edit it to show the new Remote System name and re-import it? I have searched the sources but can't find anything on this precise topic.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Peter Croft

Peter,
No you cannot.
Prepare a source having Just two columns ex., new Remote Keys of the system and an common identifier field in the table which you are planning to import with the data. Import it and get it to the data manager as records with just two fields(Remote Key and Common identifier). If you have the import maps already stored for the tables when you have done for the previous imports for the other two remote systems, use them and  automate the importing process for this particular remote system (via port configuration in console and Data manager) for the remaining fields of the table.

  • Syndicating based on Addition of a Remote System Key

    Hi
We have a distributed system syndication scenario where we need to syndicate a record automatically when a remote system key is added to an existing harmonized record in MDM. By adding the Remote System Key, it essentially means the remote system is 'subscribing' to the new harmonized record.
Is there any way to fire off a syndication event when a new remote system key is added to a record? It seems that MDM currently only flags a record as ready to be syndicated when a value changes in one of the fields of that record - it doesn't seem to identify the addition of a new system key to the record as a change to the record.
Thanks for your assistance in advance.

    Hi Ravi
Thanks for the reply. The current view is that we were going to add it manually as a remote system key mapping, as the material record would already exist and would have been harmonized in mdm - so no need to add it through an import map. The scenario is that the master record already exists and another system wishes to also receive this record. Any thoughts on what options do we have if we go this approach?
Also, is their anyway to indicate if a remote system key is added for a new system to an existing mdm material, to indicate when syndicating that the record being sent is a 'Create' record - and hence only to syndicate it to the new remote system added and not to the other systems which also have remote key's against that record?
    Thanks

  • How can you redo initial system setup macbook pro

How can you redo initial system setup macbook pro?

Like when Setup Assistant fires up and lets you migrate? In general, that would imply having to do a complete reinstall. And I've always been under the impression that when you do that, the reinstall software does not contain all the extra goodies that come with a new from-factory install (such as iLife).
But as Prof. Kappy wants to know, the specifics are very version dependent.

You should - if you didnt' already - consider also using garbage mattes to cut unnecessary material out of your shots. If there are areas of the screen that never come in contact with the foreground/subject, then you can eliminate some of the compositing work by masking those out with the garbage matte. You can also animate the points on the garbage matte as well so that is an additional layer of control when you're trying to reduce the number of color variances on the background/chroma layer.

  • Can you move your system onto a new, larger hard drive?

OK, so I bought a 4 GB RAM upgrade and a 320 GB 7200 rpm hard disk to beef up my Mini. But it has a lot of apps installed and I don't relish the thought of re-installing it all from scratch. So my question is - Can you migrate the entire system onto another, bigger hard drive, realizing that it will go onto a larger disk partition than it came from? Right now I have the 320 GB disk in an external USB case. So can I back everything over to this USB drive and make it bootable and then swap the disks?

OK campers. This is how it went down. I bought an IOGear external eSATA case for the 320 GB drive. After fooling around a bit I finally figured out how to get the drive initialized so it showed up. I then downloaded SuperDuper and backed all files from the old 120 GB over to the new drive. I selected the new drive as startup disk to make sure I could boot from it. Having successfully done that, I went to Other World Computing's site for Mini Upgrades, and played their installation video on my laptop. I followed the video instructions and had the new RAM and hard disk installed in about 20 minutes. One thing they don't use in the video is an anti static wrist strap. I had one and used it. I highly recommend to all attempting this, to get one at Radio Shack. They are a cheap insurance against damaging your Mac with static electricity. All in all, this was an easy upgrade and I am writing this on the "new" Mini, which is running sweet, with lots of 'elbow room'.

  • How can you make a field "key" in transformation rules - master data maping

    Hello ,
We are in the process of creating some custom master data datasources for HR module. In this we are trying to extract fields from particular infotypes. In my situation we are pulling fields from only one table PA0032.  From this table I am making a view where in I am selecting all the key fields from that table and including 2 other fields (Buliding name and room number). Now I create an ATTR master datasource with this view and check in RSA3 I see the data very good. All this is time dependent data like for Employee he might be in buliding AB room 32 first and then get moved to Buliding CD room 34. So we need to keep a history of the records. Now I replicate the DS in BW system, and create custom infoobjects for building and room no. I create an infoobject called Zworkaddress and dates I use 0VALIDTO and 0VALIDFROm. I make both the dates, bulding and room as attributes of ZWORKADDRESS. Now I map all the fields from datasource to the infoobject but field ZWORKADDRESS is on,y coming up as KEy field not the dates and subtype. Thats why I am getting only the last record not all the records of the emplyee work address.
We are using BI 7.0, so my question is how can I make the other fields as key's so that I can have all records.
    Thanks in advance.

    Kiran,
If you make any one time dependant system will create Dateto and date from internally. we don't need to add those.
    1. for Employee, add Company Address as attribute. make this as Time Dependant. keep Subtype as Compounding key to your employer. then you will get Employee, Sub Type and Dates as key fields. you can have complete history of Employee Address change.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can you recommend a system for me?

Hello!  I am looking into purchasing a new computer system to support my work projects and am not sure what to purchase.  I mostly work with mass communication, photos, other graphics, print design as well as routine word processing.  I use Illustrator and InDesign, but find it takes an eternity for large files to load.  Even viewing photos has become challenging.  My boss told me to buy a new system and told me to get whatever I needed.  The problem is... I have no idea what that is!
My company utilizes a third-party IT vendor, which also helps us order and manage quipment.  They made the following recommendations:
    Windows 7 Professional
    64 bit
    8 gigs of RAM (minimum)
Seperate graphics card with 1 additional gig of memory dedicated to graphics
Is this a good recommendation?  What would you change or add?  I don't think I am in a position to have something that is ultra customized, so I am looking for something mostly out of the box which will fit my needs.  I'll also mention that while Mac is often desirable, I am hoping to avoid that because I would be the only person on my entire team using an Apple system and I worry about integration challenges.
I welcome your thoughts and recommendations.  Thanks so much!

Are you getting a desktop or notebook computer?
In terms of RAM, 8GB is the bare minimum but will at least work. I would recommend 16GB of RAM or more for a notebook computer (if possible, some models won't support that much). If you're getting a new desktop machine I'd definitely get as much RAM as possible. 24GB to 32GB would be good.
Definitely get a dedicated video card for either a notebook or desktop machine. "Integrated" graphics (a graphics chip on the motherboard that sucks on system RAM) is terrible for any creative or multimedia demands. Try to get a graphics card that supports Adobe's GPU acceleration. It makes a noticeable difference in how well Illustrator performs.
Make sure you get a fast internal hard disc drive. That makes a pretty big difference in opening and saving files as well as your boot up time. A solid state drive would be fastest, but most expensive (and you take a hit on storage capacity). Try to get a 2nd physical hard disc installed for scratch disc use (this is pretty easy to do with desktop machines). Use external USB 3.0 hard discs to back up your data.
Regarding the Mac or PC thing, that really should depend on the other applications you have to use and files you share with others. I'm on a Windows-based system due to sign industry specific software not available for the Mac platform. I also need to be able to run CorelDRAW and there's no Mac native version of it.
The Windows platform is definitely the most targeted by cyber criminals, but it's not difficult to protect yourself using a PC. A lot of people get their PCs infected by making pretty simple and obvious mistakes. Many PC users don't want to admit they got their computers infected by doing things they probably shouldn't have been doing, like seeking out pirated movies, music, porn and software. Windows users do need to make an effort to keep their machines updated with the latest security patches and have anti-virus software installed. Many don't bother with any of that out of laziness and then act like they have no responsibility when their machine gets infected. Quite a few computer users don't even have the basic knowledge to even know how to install patches, much less even find their way around in the computer's file system to keep their data organized. By the way, buying a Mac won't solve any of those knowledge problems. If cyber criminals start really concentrating on the Mac platform it's going to open a whole new can of worms concerning unprotected machines.
Tracking software is a very insidious thing. Even if the web browser and other software in your machine isn't doing it directly there's a chance other parties are looking at the packets of data your computer is exchanging with other servers. I recently watched the documentary "Citizen Four" on HBO. The things that various governments (including our own here in the US) are doing to violate privacy is pretty horrifying.

  • Can you listen to System.out ?

Good morning form. Is there a way to listen to System.out?
This could be useful in testing. You could compile a test version of the app and report all Sys out activity then turn it of in production (or not). The point would be to be able to apply this to applications after they were written. (as in not a consideration at the time the app was written).
I know if the app is run from a command line you can pipe the output to a file.
    Thanks

  • Can you clone a failing hardrive or a hardrive that wont boot up?

My macbook pro gave me the grey screen with the loading cogwheel earlier this week. I tried all of the fixes with the forums but was unsuccessful. I took it in to genius and they told me that the hard drive was failing. I was able to recover the majority of my important items onto my external hardrive. I was wondering if you can clone a hard drive that is failing? Keep in mind that my macbook wont boot up on its own.

It's highly unlikely that a single corrupt file is responsible for a problem with to the drive's hardware. If the file's just causing Mac OS X to fail to boot, cloning the drive and using it as a non-boot volume won't transfer the problem.

  • Can you share Bex Calculated Key Figures in BI-IP

We have a requirement to establish P&L planning for a company.  Two questions:
    1. There are a number of calculations that are required for various values (i.e. current month, previous month, current month contract to date, previous month contract to date).  I am trying to determine if I should build these calculations into the query using C-KFs or apply them during ETL as multiple cumulative key figures?  Data volume is small (200 records a month) so we were thinking a key figure based model (instead of using cost elements) for this as they don't utilize FI in ECC in a typical fashion.
    2. After we get this initial data into SAP BI for reporting, we would like simulate it using plan/forecast versions.  In BI-IP I learned that it can use R-KF & C-KF as it uses BeX.  If I create a bunch of C-KFs, can I utilize those calculations in BI-IP so I don't have to create FOX formulas for them?
    Thanks!

Thanks for your responses.... Unfortuntately, I need to plan on some of these values so it sounds like CKFs won't work for me.  I wonder why SAP claims BI-IP can utilize CKFs if you can't save any of the results of these?  Is it possible to save them as planning items?
Also, if I have to do formula/ABAP transformations on the update rules for the flat files coming in, can I leverage any of that in BI-IP if they are on the same infoprovider?  I know FOX fairly well and can off-set time periods (i.e. current month, previous month), but I don't know how to cumulative values in the ABAP routines nor time periods off-sets.
Please advise if there are any good sources for this documentation.
    Thanks so much!

  • Can you change the "System Installation Account" from the Site Server Computer Account to a Service Account after the DP is configured?

When the distribution points were configured, we used the Site Server Computer Account.
Now we would like to change to a service account and remove the site server computer account from the local administrators group (and add the the service account).
Can someone provide some guidance on if this is possible, and what steps should be taken to accomplish?
    Thanks

Sure, just modify the properties of the "Site System" role in the console (in the Administration workspace under Site Configuration -> Server and Site System Roles).
Why would you do this though? It's less secure and adds an administrative burden.

  • Can you set up a key frame on a movie published through iPhoto on .Mac?

Does anybody know if you can set up a key frame on a movie published through iPhoto on .Mac? I mean the thumbnail for the movie...

    lnbs:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Not in iPhoto. I don't know if you can import the movie into iMovie and set a key frame that way. But that would include some additional encoding to get it out of iMovie and might degrade the quality.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • NoteBook HP 620.How can you make a System Recovery Disk on HP 620 Notebook?

The HP620 model is possible to recover the system using F11. This utility formats the hard drive and reinstall Windows 7 on the hard drive.
    My question is:
You can make a copy on a DVD media operating system, such as is done with the Recovery Disk Utility on the desktop models?

    Hi,
Click the Start Menu, open All Programs and scroll down the list to see if you have a folder called Recovery Manager - if you do, open it and see if it contains an applications called Recovery Disc Creator.  If you have this application, double click it to launch the program which should then guide you through the process of creating a set of Recovery Discs.
