Can you delete the contents of the Updates folder?

Hi,
Trying to free up some space on my hard drive. Using OmniDiskDweeper app. Just wondering if it's safe to delete the contents of the Updates folder; the one located in the hard drive/library. There is about 5 GB of stuff in there.

You can't delete the update and your problem probably is not in the Update.
Check to see if Location Services is turned ON. (Settings > Privacy > Location Services)
What model iPad Mini do you have? WiFi or WiFi + Cellular

In all honesty though, even if that Bug is fixed a child can just delete their browsing history in any browser quite easily; sure you'll see that it has been deleted, but you still won't know where they have been. You really need to install some Parental Controls on that PC that tracks the web sites that are being visited outside of a web browser, and can only be accessed with a password.
I don't have any recommendations for that type of software, as I haven't needed it myself. Never had any children, and if I did even my grand-children would probably be old enough not to need monitoring like that.

Can I delete the "Public" folder?

I'm wondering if I can delete the Public folder, or if I should refrain from doing so?
I've tried to figure out what the purpose of the Public folder is, but I'm not sure if I've understood correctly..
As far as I can see, it's there for other people to access the files within (which I don't find very comforting in the first place).
Since I have no use for sharing files with people this way, I figure I have no use for this folder either.
So, that's my reasoning for wanting to delete this folder.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Where the Public Folder comes in handy is if you want to share files between other users of your Mac. Normally, when you log on, you cannot access other user account's files...except for the Public Folder. If you are the only user, then even though you won't really take advantage of this feature, you really won't gain much from deleting it either.

My computer would not recognize my iPhone. I tried the troubleshooting tips found online, uninstalling everything in order. When verifying all files had been removed, I could not delete the Apple folder in Common Files as it says the folder or a file in it is open in another program. When checking my programs I see iCloud remains (published by Apple). Need that be uninstalled as well? How important is it to delete the Apple folder which has an Internet Services folder in which are two other folders (filled with files), an application AppleOutloodDAVConfig64, and three application extensions? turn off Photostream on my iOS Device.
deleting the iCloud Account from my iOS Device.

I downloaded Flash player 10 version 10.0.32.18 from the adobe site. Along with that program being installed another program was installed (ADOBE Get Plus?). It contains an exe file helperSvc.exe along with something about "getPlus+". I deleted this program. Will it effect the functioninga nd security of Flash Player 10 version 10.0.32.18? I notice if I download flash player 10 when I'm at a website that requires flash player, example www.dallasstars.com, I get the flash player 10 version 10.0.32.18 but with out the NOS folder and all the get plus stuff. So if I download flash player 10 version 10.0.32.18 from adobe and then delete the NOS folder/getPlus program, will all be ok?

By deleting it doesn't it leave stuff behind that causes me to get an error? ( getPlus+ Error 16236.203.235)

I have a folder called Updates in my Library it is very large. Are the things inside necessary to the operation of my computer or is record keeping. I'd like to delete them, I need the space. I am using OSX 10.6.8.
There are files titled things like zzzz041-0021 they seem to contain pkg files from updates long ago.

These are copies of update files used to update the computer. They should have been deleted unless you never actually did the updates. Otherwise, you can delete them.

ThinkVantage System Update application will find the appropriate updates, download them and install them. This is convenient. But when it finishes the updates, it will not clean the installation files it has downloaded, which I think are not useful any more since the update installation is completed, right?
I think the update appliction stores the downloaded files in the folder: C:\Program Files\Lenovo\System Update\ , this folder of mine is over 1.32GB big now. But I just don't know which files and subfolders in it are safe to delete.
Or rather, the preload system occupies a large space on the disk. Which files are no longer used and safe to delete?

I've been experimenting. Now I figure it out. Automatic System Update downloads and stores files in C:\Program Files\Lenovo\System Update\ Sessions\, and in Sessions' subfolders, all files are not used once update is completed except those ending with .xml. Thus those unnacessary files are safe to delete.
This is what I find out so far.
Continuing to experiment.

Can you delete the last page of a document with a script?

Hello, I have been building a script over the last week to help me remove formatting and reapply some of that formatting on a large number of files. I am still learning alot about how to build scripts and what the commmands are but I am almost doen with everything I need to put in it. One of the last things that I want to add is to delete the last page from the Indesign file whether it has content or not. Is this possible? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Something like this:
if (app.activeDocument.pages.length > 1)
app.activeDocument.pages[-1].remove();
First check if document contains more than one page, and if does, remove last page.

After allowing my iMac updating about 80 apps, the process did stop whilst installing new ver. Xcode jan. 2013 - the iMac did reset and a gray screen appears, with white letters: 0 space on Harddrive! It wasn't any sign the harddisk had not space enough, to complete the update - until the reset occours. For us and our little company a catastrophic event.
After inserting the original Snow Lepard Install Disk, the Diskmanager shows no error. No test shows any sign of error in Software. Freeing some of the empty space shows 12,5 Gb.
Perhaps this is a new kind of error happen with this combinations of the new versions of Apps and Xcode...?
Perhaps it's a know problem. I will be truely happy when finding a solution in this community.

If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple.
