Can you edit 24p in imovie 11

imovie wont import my 24p clips

No you cannot. There are no plugins for iMovie 11.
Final Cut Pro X allows plugins, and you can even create your own transitions and titles with Motion.

  • Can you edit 24 Frames Per Second ( 24p ) in iMovie 6?

    Does anybody know?
I see that when you "Create a new project" you can choose several options, including 1080i .. but can you pick 24p somehow?
FCP can .. is this too much to ask for iMovie 6?
FCP seems to hard to use for a beginner .. but why can't we shoot 24p and edit with iMovie....

The 24p just looks so good to the eye
sure, but mainly because of usage of "progressive" instead of interlacing...
the framerate has very little effect on the "psychological" perception of a movie; the main issues of "movie look" are:
    * progressive - as said
    * blurr - video pics are mostly "crystal clear", a film-camera has looong shutter-times, compared to a consumer DVcam (which in bright sunlight switches to 1/2000sec)
    * fps - PAL has 25, which is close to movie.. we have more motion-blurrs then NTSC videos.... NTSC could look "too sharp"...-
    * depth of field - film has a much smaller area of dof
    * different color scheme - ..ehm, to be honest, .. too techie for me
as mentioned above, you get (some for free) many plug-ins for FCP/E, to accomplish some similiar effect with standard 30/25i material... for the classical "wedding video" I use JES Deinterlacer, deinterlacing the final project before makign a DVD...- looks great too...
but for sure, not as good as done with your 24p-camera-beast!!
    besides:
How did you judge pic quality?
in case, you connected camera to TV... the camcorder did convert from 24 to 30fps ... ... as said, progressive looks great... but can be accomplished much easier.

WHAT KIND OF FILES CAN YOU EDIT IN IMOVIE!

The PCMCIA digital TV tuner card I have is the Formac Watchandgo which I purchased here for the equivalent of around US$50:
    http://www.formac.com/webapp/productsavwatchandgo.php
However, it is only usable in countries which use the PAL TV system (such as Europe and here in Australia).
I’m not familiar with the American NTSC TV system, or what TV tuners might be available. You will probably find most tuners are USB these days.

Can you edit a person out of one photo and add them to another photo?  Like if you need the head shot from one photo to replace closed eyes in the other photo?  Thanks.

Thank you very much!  Does this require software to be purchased?  I'm new to Photoshop.

    Welcome to the forum.
Yes, this is done often. You will need to create a Mask of that person, to separate them from the background of the original Image.
I like to do this with a Layer Mask, as it offers control, and really does not alter the Image, so you can go back and make changes.
Let's say that you have Image 01 w/ the head of your subject, and want to place it into Image 02. In Image 01, make a rough Selection. I would include a bit of extra background, as we will take care of that in a moment. With that Selection active, Copy the head shot. Go to Image 02, and Paste it. It will Paste in its own Layer. Ctrl+T (Free Transform) can be used to Scale and also position that Layer with the head. Once you have that Scaled and positioned about where you want it, create a Layer Mask. In QuickMask Mode, just paint in the additional Mask to remove all traces of the background that came in with the head shot. As you can paint OUT, and also paint IN the Mask, you can work on this, as many times as you wish - even next year.
For getting that Layer Mask looking good, work slowly, also see this http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/l/blrbps_5agirl.htm.
I've got another tutorial, that addresses the hair area, and will post that, when I find my bookmark.
    Good luck,

  • Can you edit a host's provided templates in iWeb?

I am looking at Hostgator to host my simple business site. They have a ton of business site templates, but apparently you need some software (like FrontPage or DreamWeaver)to edit them. Can you edit these templates using iWeb? Are there other hosts with templates that are compatible with iWeb?

Follow this link for iWeb templates:
    http://www.ipresentee.com/
If you're lucky they still have [a free template for Christmas|http://www.ipresentee.com/iPresentee/iPresentee-_ChristmasGift.html].
They (Hostgator) have a ton of business site templates
Download the templates you like and use the layout to re-create the page in iWeb. Drop the images on your iWeb canvas and rearrange them.

  • Can you edit muse cc in dreamweaver

    Hi
Can you edit Muse CC in Dreamweaver ?

This question is really best on the Dreamweaver or Muse forums but here is the answer I found:
"Muse is not intended to be a code generation hand-off tool for downstream editing. We recommend you do all of your site editing in Muse, rather than exporting the site from Muse and editing the code elsewhere. By staying within Muse, you can continue to use the full functionality of Muse to update your site. As soon as you move to altering the output of Muse, there's no going back (unless you're willing to re-make your changes each time you export from Muse). The HTML code output from Muse is not optimized for manual editing."
Form this forum post: Re: Muse to Dreamweaver?
So while it may be possible it is not recommended.
    Hope that helps.

  • Can you edit a pdf document without exporting it into a word document?

Can you edit a pdf document without exporting it into a word document?

    Hi sylvias99766822,
You can if you have Acrobat. If you don't, feel free to give it a try. You can download a 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.
Keep in mind, though, that Acrobat isn't intended to be a word processor. So, while you can make adjustments to text and graphics, if you need to do a major overhaul of the text in the document, it's best to go back to the source document and edit the content there.
    Best,

  • Nikon D90 footage: Can you edit natively in Final Cut?

Just wondering if anyone has been using the new Nikon D90 to shoot video, and then importing the footage natively into FCP6. The camera's video-recording format, from what I have read, is 720p24, an .avi file, and a Motion JPEG codec.
I see that in the settings for a Final Cut sequence, you can choose 1280X720 frame size, a true 24 frames per second rate, and either a Motion JPEG A or Motion JPEG B compressor. It seems like with these settings, you could put your footage into the timeline and not have to render it before editing . . . unless the .avi file format goofs it up. Can you edit .avi in Final Cut natively, or do you have to use a Quicktime file?
    Any workflow advice much appreciated,
    Jim

No, sorry to say, I do not own the camera. And in looking around the web for an original, as-shot-by-the-D90 clip to experiment with, the only ones I found were at this site:
    http://www.dpreview.com/news/0809/08090101nikond90samplegallery.asp
They were billed as: D90 sample movie 1 • original .AVI format • 21 seconds, 35.7 MB
    and: D90 sample movie 3 • original .AVI format • 9 seconds, 24.5 MB
So I downloaded them, imported them into Final Cut, and they showed up with settings in the browser of: 1280X720 and 24 fps (so far so good) but then a compressor setting of "Apple OpenDML JPEG" rather than what I was expecting, Motion JPEG, which is what the D90 spec is. If the clip was truly "original .AVI format," I would have expected the compressor setting to be Motion JPEG.
Then, when I tried to change the sequence settings to Apple OpenDML JPEG, I found that there is no such setting. My thought was if the size, 1280X720, the frame rate, 24, and the compressor settings all matched, you could edit natively. And when I dragged the clip into the timeline, it did not give me a dialogue box asking if I would like the sequence settings to match the clip, the way it does with some footage.
Yes, you can render the clip and then edit it, but it would be great to avoid that step. Anyway, I got the red bar in the timeline with every combination of sequence compressor settings I tried, maybe 10 of them.
So maybe the answer is some time is needed for Final Cut to support the D90's Motion JPEG files natively, though I believe that is an older codec. Too bad the D90 does not record in something like DVCPRO HD. For a $1000 camera, the image quality looks pretty good, and the shallow depth of field really turned my head. I was thinking it might be a cheap Red Rock or Letus killer.
    Thanks for the input,
    Jim

  • Can you edit Muse website without Muse?

I'm creating a website for a community group.  I'd like them to be able to update their annoucements and events without my help if they need to.  For events, we can use a Google calendar but if they want to update the front page with an announcement or something, I'd like them to able to do so.  Some of the people are ok with code but do not have access to Muse software.
Can you edit Muse website without have Muse?
Should I create the website in a different way like Weebly, etc?
    Thanks

Yes, I've got the Creative Cloud thing so I was going to host it there.  It's a community garden that's just getting started and I'll be traveling for a few weeks this summer and I'm afraid that they may need to update things while I'm gone.  Plus I don't want to be the sole person who can keep it going.

    Hi,
Are you talking about photoshop elements 11 or photoshop cs4?
You can edit camera raw files with both of the above, but it might depend on the camera the raw files came from.
What operating system are you using?
Which camera are the raw files from?
