Can you provide some real time example of Fit Gap analysis .

Hi all,
Can you provide some real time example of Fit Gap analysis related to Functional.
Regards
Reddy

hi,
In my opinion and experience both functional and technical staff playkey roles in the fit-gap meetings and in the subsequent review of thefit-gap deliverable (which lists business requirements, fits, gaps, andalternatives to fill the gaps). Ideally the technical staff possessessignificant functional / business experience at least with that moduleso that he/she can help determine the cost/effort/technical scope if acustomization or interface is the preferred way to fill a particulargap. The fit-gap goes a long way in determining the overall scope ofthe implementation or upgrade project and is a critical success factor. It also needs to be completed very early in the project so thatresulting customizations and interfaces can be designed, created, andunit tested before the system test phase.
Thx,
waseem

    hi guru
can somebody give some real time questions for alv report.

    subhasis.

    hi,
The ALV is a set of function modules and classes and their methods which are added to program code. Developers can use the functionality of the ALV in creating new reports,  saving time which might otherwise have been spent on report enhancement
The common features of report are column    alignment, sorting, filtering, subtotals, totals etc. <b>To implement these, a lot of coding and logic is to be put. To avoid that we can use a concept called ABAP List Viewer (ALV).</b>
Using ALV, we can have three types of reports:
       1. Simple Report
       2. Block Report
       3. Hierarchical Sequential Report
    <b>Reward useful points</b>

  • Can you give some real-life use of tables in BW?

    Hi,
In reading links and notes from here, I took a leap to try and understand how tables are used in the BW environment, by following:
    se16
    RSZ* then  F4
    then I Double click on:
    i.
RSZRANGE        Selection specification for an element
If execute, I get a table with a several fields with values.
What is this table suppose to tell me and can you give me a real-life scenario where you made use of such a research to solve a problem?
    ii.
    RSZOPRATOR       Formula Operators
similarly, here I found fields with operators and mostly numbers.
What is this table suppose to tell me and can you give me a real-life scenario where you made use of such a research to solve a problem?
iii. Later I tried RSU* then
    RSUPDDAT        Update rules key figures
Nothing recognizable here about the update rules.
What is this table suppose to tell me and can you give me a real-life scenario where you made use of such a research to solve a problem?
    iv.
Also, sometimes here conversations like, research on which tables have the fields you need and let’s generate reports against them. I though tin BW, reports are always generated against data targets (ODS, Cubes, etc). I didn’t know of tables.
Can you give a real-life scenario where you had to combine fields in 2 or 3 tables and use them in project?
    Thanks

    Amanda,
There are many scenarios where you can use the tables behind the screen. But most of the times the scenarios are sophisticated requirement. Suppose your installation has many data targets and all are getting loaded nightly, weekly or even monthly intervals. Usually in most places the person on call will go and look at all the targets in the morning whether all the loads are successful (they would have beeped if something faild during loading at nights). Instead of going thru this manual process you can write an ABAP program which will look at the infocubes and ODS and see how many records were added, transferred, updated success or failure all kinds of information.
RSA1 is just a front end and all the information you see are all coming from tables which are stored here. go to SE80 or SE11 and search for the tables behind the screens. Every bit of detail that you see is coming from tables or available in tables. There are many tables and they are all relational. So you can pretty much do anything you like in accessing them. Please just read (SELECT) from them. Don't try to delete, insert anything unless you know what you are doing absolutely.
    Hope this helps.
    Good luck with your learning.
    Alex.

  • Please send me some real time quetions in REPORTS/ ALV  REPORTS

please anybody can send me some real time issues and quetions from REPORTS,
    ALV REPORTS

    Hi,
Report is basically a program which extracts the data from the database tables based on some inputs and gives the output as a list.
Report are classified as Classical Reports, Interactive Reports and ALV Report.
Classical Report is a normal report which just displays the output.User cannot interact with that report.
Interactive Report is nothing but, a user can interacte with the report. After a basic list is displayed, user can click on some field on the list which generates a secondary list giving the necessary information relevant to that field.
ALV Report is to provide users with a consistent, user friendly and functional method of manipulating the data, which appears on report lists. ALV provides more advantages than the normal report

  • Share small real-time example using Narrowing Cast & Widening Cast

    Hi Guys,
I am trying to understand the concept of Narrowing Cast and Widening Cast and getting confused why we are using these Casts. When we can always access the method of Subclass using its ref object in Narrowing ) and use the Super class with its ref object (in Widening).
I understand the concept but could not understand under what situation cast is preferred. There are articles all over the web to explain the concept, but non told us why and when we are forced to us these CASTS.
I will appreciate if somebody can share a small real-time example where use of Narrowing and Widening Cast is advisable.
    Thanks,

It looks like this topic has lost steam.
I'm surprised this isn't a more intense conversation. There are many applications that need to share data.
In my application I have many hundreds (in some few cases in the thousands) of different types of data streams including DIO, Analog, and many different types of Serial buses.
My application is already controlling the hardware and data streams, but others want to peak into my I/O including what is happening on the serial buses.
To create a 'get' function for each I/O in a web page would seem farily intense (although I could probably create a VI script to help build it).
I was looking for solutions along the lines of maybe coping the data into a VISA service (if that is possible), or publishing to a datasocket server, or creating a network published variable.
I need to be considerate of the possibility of hundreds of serial buses banging a service and the possible bandwidth impacts. So I'm searching for a solution that is both easy to implement and low on resources.
For now I'm leaning towards datasockets. Does anybody have an opinions on this?

I am trying to convert an Illustrator cs6 file to a PDF and every time I do it, I lose all text and images. Can someone provide some assistance? Thank you!

It's always a good idea to supply platform and AI version info.
How are you "converting" the file? Are you choosing "Save As" and selecting PDF from the file format options? This will bring up additional save options. I would suggest "Illustrator Default" setting unless you have specific needs.

    Create The Extension Segment
    Transaction: WE31
The first step in extending an IDoc is to create the new segments that will go into that IDoc. There are some rules that you need to follow when creating the segments:
    - The name of each segment type must start with ‘Z1’
    - For each field in the segment you need to define a field name and a
    data element.
    - The data element for the segment structure must be of data type ‘CHAR’.
    How to create new segments:
Run the segment maintenance transaction WE31.
Type your new segment name, and click on Create.
Define the fields of your segment:
    Field name
Data Element for the field (from the ABAP dictionary).
Do not change the Export length!
    Save the segment
Run Segment -->Check to check the segment for consistency.
Release the segment for transport. Select Edit -->Set Release. Note that the “Release’ column now has a check mark.
    Create the Extension IDoc Type
    Transaction: WE30
After you create the segments to be added to the extension type, you can create the extension type itself. Execute transaction WE30, enter the extension name, select Extension type, and click Create. You now have three options:
Create new type: Does not refer to other extension types
Create copy: Copies info from an extension type that already exists
Create successor: Extends an extension type from a previous release
of R/3. You can only have one version of an extension type for
    each release.
Enter the Basic IDoc type that this extension type will extend.
The screen now shows the structure of the IDoc type you used as
    a reference.
Position the cursor on one of the segments and click Create. This will insert an extension segment as a child of the selected segment.
NOTE: A segment cannot appear more than once in an IDoc type! You must control the use of duplicate segments with the segment attributes (the next screen).
The segment attribute screen appears. Enter the information and save.
Extension segments should not be mandatory (for future upgrades), and will need to have minimum and maximum number of instances defined. This answers the question, “for each instance of the parent segment, how many instances of the child segment may we have?”
You can press the Segment Editor pushbutton to view or change the segment definition.
    Create the new Message Type
You can only use an extension IDoc type by assigning it to a message type. You can create a new message type for this.
First the message type itself needs to be created.
    Transaction: WE81
Create a new entry and save. Use SAP established customer naming conventions (good form is to start with a Z and retain the rest of the related SAP message type, so, for example, MATMAS becomes ZMATMAS).
After creating the message type, associate it with the corresponding Basic IDoc Type and Extension Type. This relationship is used when IDocs are sent to or received from a partner to determine what segments are valid and what the hierarchy for those segments is.
    Transaction: WE82
Create a new entry and enter the Message type, Basic IDoc type, Extension type, and Release, and save your data. Note: the release assignment is not valid for prior SAP releases.
One message type can be associated with many basic IDoc types; however, you need a one-to-one relationship for distribution via ALE.

    srinivas

  • How can I generate a real-time highchart from my database data?

I have looked several links; however, I couldn't find a working demo showing how to implement a highchart using data from a database.
Objective: I want to generate a real time highchart line graph getting data from my database. What I want is very similar to the
HighChart Demo which provides a real-time highchart with randomly generated values. It is also similar by X-axis and Y-axis, for I want my x-axis to be "Time" (I have a DateTime column in my database) and y-axis to be an integer (I have
a variable for that as well in my database).
Please I need help in sending the model data to my razor view.
Note that I am already using SignalR to display a realtime table. I also want to know if it can be used to automatically update the highchart as well.
Below is the code snippet of my script in the view. I have used the code provided in
HighChart Demo link for generating the highchart. Please tell me where should I apply the changes on my code.

    notifications.client.updateMessages = function () {

    Hi Sihem,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.  Using the LabVIEW Real-Time module, you can do development without actually having a target.  While viewing the project explorer window, you can do the following steps:
    Right click on the project
Select New >> Targets and Devices
Select the "New Target or Device" radio button
Select the target you would like to develop on.Information about the LabVIEW Real-Time Module can be found here.

  • Hello some real time questions

    Hello guys,
Can any one help with this question.
    1) Difference between Interactive & Drill down
repot? What specific statements do you use, when
    writing a drill down report?
(is both are same or any difference is there)
    2) What transaction do you use for Data Analysis?
    3) When a program is created and need to be
transported to Production, does selection texts
always go with it? if not how do you make sure?
    4) Can you make the CTS entries? How do you do it?
    5) What are change header / detail tables? Have
you used them? ( i dont know what exactly is this?
    and from which topic?)
    6) What is currency factoring technique?
    7) Is it possible to run host command from SAP
    environment? How do you run?
    8) What is the difference in using COMMIT WORK
within a called transaction & within a called dialog
    module in an existing module?
    9) What is the difference between the report
    status & screen status?
    10) what is the main diff between LSMW & session?
    11) How to introduce authorization objects in
reports? How can you give authorization?
    12) Diff between BAPI & RFC?
    13) How field properties are set with * for
    password?
    14) How to create our own parameter ID in SE11?
    15) What is a Ztable? How to create it?
(i think it is user defined table
and using Domain, Data Element & Table fields we
can create, if so, why it is to be called as only
'z' table, when we can careat with 'y')
    <b>SOME REAL TIME QUESTIONS:</b>
    1) How many SAP instances are there in your
    organization?
    2) What SAP version is in use for each instance?
3)What is the Hot package level for each instance?
4)What OS is employed per instance?
5)From where you get the request no?
Any one Answer this question it will be useful for all.
    Thanks in advance.

Here are answers to some of your questions. Hopefully this will help you.
    1) Difference between Interactive & Drill down
repot? What specific statements do you use, when
    writing a drill down report?
(is both are same or any difference is there)
--> It's the same. You have events AT PF-STATUS, AT LINE-SELECTION, AT USER-COMMAND which are used to code for Interactive reports. Check this link for more details
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/d3/2e974d35c511d1829f0000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
    2) What transaction do you use for Data Analysis?
--> What do you exactly mean by data analysis?
    3) When a program is created and need to be
transported to Production, does selection texts
always go with it? if not how do you make sure?
--> Yes, it goes with it.
    5) What are change header / detail tables? Have
you used them? ( i dont know what exactly is this?
    and from which topic?)
--> All changes in SAP data are logged in Change Header and Item table. CDHDR and CDPOS are change header and item tables respectively.
    8) What is the difference in using COMMIT WORK
within a called transaction & within a called dialog
    module in an existing module?
--> Commit work commits all database changes which occurs before commit statement.
    10) what is the main diff between LSMW & session?
--> LSMW and session are 2 different ways to update data in SAP database.
    Check this out -
    Session Method
    LSMW
    11) How to introduce authorization objects in
reports? How can you give authorization?
Need to add code for the same using Authority check command. Check this thread
    ABAP Development
    13) How field properties are set with * for
    password?
--> You can modify field properties which displaying data. In this way you can set data to encrypt with 'X'.
    14) How to create our own parameter ID in SE11?
    -> Check out this thread
    ABAP Development
    15) What is a Ztable? How to create it?
(i think it is user defined table
and using Domain, Data Element & Table fields we
can create, if so, why it is to be called as only
'z' table, when we can careat with 'y')
--> using transaction code SE11. All custom objects in SAP can start either with Y or with Z.
