Can you transfer data from one IPad to another?

I want to get a new IPad and I would like to transfer what I have on my old IPad to the new one, is this possible without a computer?

You can use iCloud to sync your books and music bought in the iTunes Store, but for anything that you didn't purchased in iTunes Store you must use iTunes

The geniusbar told me what to do, I understood but there is still a problem for me >:/ It's not showing up though. Like "device."  Nothing is happening, and I tried as soon as I got home. Then after half an hour, then an hour, then 3 hours. My problem is that it's not showing up! It's stuck in recovery mode! There's still like 25% battery. So I have no idea why.

  • How do you transfer data from one iPad to another after manual setup of new device?

Okay so, i just got a new iPad air, to replace with my old ipad 2. I have already set up the new ipad, and backed up the old one. I went into the settings of the new iPad, and hit 'Restore from backup'. When i did this, it restored the ipad to the backup, but it only managed to get all of my photos, and three of my apps. None of my music was transferred, and neither was the rest of the backup. Now i cannot figure out how to transfer the rest of the data to the new ipad. How do i do this??

If you only backup with iCloud and have never used iTunes, then there is nothing more for you to do. But you have the iPad original so I'm guessing that you must have used iTunes at some point. This is what I would do - if you still use iTunes.
Backup the iPad, transfer purchases into iTunes, and sync one last time. If you have any other important files, you may want to transfer them to your computer as well, prior to the update.
    Transfer purchases.

After you have all content saved in iTunes and iCloud go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings to wipe the old iPad.
When you get the new iPad, restore from your backup and then sync with iTunes. You will have the option of restoring from iCloud or iTunes when you set the iPad up. I used iTunes because I still use iTunes as my main backup and iCloud as my "backup" backup.
At some point, remove the old iPad as an associated device in iTunes. Do this after you erase the iPad,

  • How do you transfer data from one iPad to another when upgrading models?

    Hello.
I am about to sell my iPad 1 and buy a new iPad.
How do I save my old setup and keep my purchased Apps (music, etc)?... I already made a backup in iCloud, but don't see any menu to allow for restoring any or all my information...
Should I deregister my old iPad before or after I reset it to factory setup?
Is there anything else I should I do before selling the device?
    Thanks,
    Jacques

  • How can I transfer information from one ipad to another?

how can I transfer information from one ipad to another ?

What kind of information? You can sync things like Contacts and Calendars by using iCloud. You can backup one iPad to iTunes on a computer and then sync the backup to the other iPad. You can configure your iTunes content and sync the same content to both iPads.
It is based on what you want to do. Or are you looking for a way to send files from one iPad to another wirelessly? There are apps to do things like that, as well as cloud services, such as DropBox.

  • Can i transfer everything from one ipad to another so both have exactly the same things

Can i transfer everything from one ipad to another so both have exactly the same things?

Yes. Copy your apps and other iTunes purchases/downloads to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases if you have iTunes 11 on your computer), then backup up the first iPad and restore that backup onto the second iPad.
    Backups and restores : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4079
Things that aren't included in a backup include the contents of the Music and Videos apps (but they should be on your computer's iTunes) and photos that were synced from a computer. Also you will need to enter your passwords (email, wifi, website) on the second iPad - they won't be restored onto a different device, only back onto the device that the backup came from.

  • Can you transfer data from one numbers spreadsheet to another using conditional formatting?

I have a tracker document set up for client payments and when I indicate payment received, it  flags green using conditional formatting. However I would like these to automatically transfer to another sheet - without having to cut and paste the associated data to the other sheet. Can I set up conditional formatting to do this? If not how could I get and automatic transfer?
    thanks forum.

    Hi Kangers,
There are a number of ways to transfer data from one table to the next. It should not be hard to set up.
Conditional formatting would not be involved it moving the data but you could set it up to flag the data in the new table.
Without knowing what your tables and data look like it is hard to propose a solution.

  • How can you transfer photos from one phone to another

How can you transfer photos from phone to phone

If you are trying to get all the photos from an old phone to your new phone, you could sync the old phone which would create a backup containing your Camera Roll. Then connect the new phone and follow the prompts to register and name your new phone. You will then be given the choice of restoring data to your new phone from a backup of the old phone. This will replace any existing data on the new phone with the data from the backup so it's really the best option if the other phone is new.
Another option would be to connect the phone to your computer and import your photos to iPhoto or the My Pictures folder. Then you could sync the other phone and under the Photos tab in iTunes you could choose the folders/albums of pictures you want on the phone. They will not be in the Camera Roll, but they will be on the phone.
    I hope this helps.

  • Can you send iMessages from one iPad to another? If so how can I do this? Thanks

I have just got a new iPad and I'm wondering if you can send iMessages from one iPad to another? We are currently trying this out and can only send iMessages from an iPad to an iPhone is this correct? Thanks

You can use the Messages app to send messages to any iOS device or to a Mac running Mountain Lion. So yes you can send a message to another iPad.
Both iPads have to have Messages set up and you need to contact the other iPad using an email addresses as the "you can be reached at" email address.
Do you have it set up correctly on both iPads?

Any reason you created a new AppleID?
iTunes purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID used to purchase. This cannot be changed.
What do you mean by "restore the original id"?
You can easily merge content from different AppleIDs into one iTunes library.
