Cannot add playlist to Ipod

Whenever I try to add my playlist from my computer to my ipod, the crossed out circle appears, and I cannot add it. I found that when I go to my Ipod, the bar that shows how much space is left has a lock next to it. Does this mean anything?

It is in Autosync.
Select the iPod in iTunes.
Click on the music tab.
Select the playlists you want to put onto the iPod.
When you wanto add/delete music from the iPod, just do it from these playlists and then sync the iPod.

  • Cannot add playlists to folders in iphone 5 / itunes for mac

Does anyone know why one cannot add playlists to folders in iphone 5. When I drag a playlist to a folder on my "Devices" on my iMac in itunes 10 it does not show up on my phone after it syncs. I should note that I currently have 3 folders with playlists which show up on my iphone but I believe these were generated when I first Automatically Synced Music before I switched to Manually Manage Music

Also can this be done for photos?

  • How to add playlist to ipod

how can I add playlist to ipod nano

    You can't.
You should create playlists in iTunes and then transfer them to the iPod.
If you need to change it, do it in iTunes and then transfer again to the iPod.
Do you mean an On-the-Go playlists?
They only transfer from the iPod to iTunes when in Auto-sync.

  • Cannot Drag Playlist to iPods

After moving to new computer with Vista, cannot drag playlists to iPods, as it freezes up every time as soon as the playlist moves over the ipod icon that you are dragging it to. We've installed all updates to Vista and iTunes, tried creating new playlists and dragging them instead, and restoring iPods to factory settings, as we thought we might have corrupted one by ejecting it incorrectly. We are able to drag small numbers of songs at a time from the library to the iPod though. This occurs whether we are using a nano or a 30 gb iPod.

I have this same problem with iTunes 9.0.2. Can't drag and drop anything. Sometimes rebooting helps, sometimes it doesn't. Of course you can work around it -- right click as someone mentioned, or if you're creating a playlist, File>Create New Playlist from Selection. But it's a pain, and I hate the fact that I'm not getting the functionality I paid for. Wish someone (Apple, where are you?) could solve this problem.

  • Cannot Burn Playlist off iPod to a DIsc

I recently transferred files from a Creative mp3 to my iPod using my old Dell, then got a new Mac. However, I never stored any music on my Dell, as it didn't have enough hard drive space.
Therefore I don't have any music on my Mac hard drive OR on my Dell Hard Drive - it's all on the iPod (65 GB at that!).
Here's the problem - I created a playlist on my iPod, but would like to burn it to a CD, but there is obviously no burn button or way to do it on the menus (the choice is greyed out).
Am I screwed and now have to re-burn all my physical CDs (1100+) to the iTunes library on my physical hard drive?
    Thanks!

You cannot burn from the iPod to a CD.
Am I screwed and now have to re-burn all my physical CDs (1100+) to the iTunes library on my physical hard drive?
Burning is creating a CD. RIPping is getting from CD into the computer.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

  • Add playlists to ipod shuffle

how do i add a playlist to my ipod shuffle

If this is the current 4th gen (or 3rd gen) shuffle, you can add a playlist or multiple playlists.  (Earlier shuffles basically acted as ONE playlist.)
There are two ways to add playlists to a 3rd or 4th gen shuffle.  Manually and using automatic syncing.  I'll describe automatic syncing...
NOTE:  When you set up automatic syncing, the iPod's existing content is replaced.  Any songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.  If this is a problem, please post back.  I can describe how to add playlists using the manual method.
First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  The iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES, when connected.
Select the iPod in the sidebar.  To the right, its Summary screen is shown.  Toward the top, where it says Summary, click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes what and how to sync (for songs).
Check the box for Sync Music.  This setting enables automatic syncing.  Choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Look under Playlists for the playlist or playlists (in your iTunes library) that you want on the shuffle, and select (checkmark) them.  You can also select other items on the other lists, as desired.
When you click Apply, the songs in your selections sync to the iPod (include the selected playlists).  Going forward, to update your iPod, you can update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  The iPod does not need to be connected.  The next time you connect the iPod (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes.

  • Cannot delete or add playlists to iPod using manual adjust option

    Hello!
First time I tried manual adjust it worked for me (I deleted 2 lists off my iPod, and added a new one).
But now, two days after I did that, adding or deleting playlists simply won't work.
When I connected my iPod to the computer, iTunes told me that my iPod couldn't sync because there was not enough space for that (1 MB).
Then, I try deleting 1 or 2 playlists from the iPod. Despite the deleting, the number of songs in the Music library is still the same. Which means, nothing has been deleted.
And when I try to add a new playlist as a substitute for the one I tried to delete, it only adds the playlist, without the songs in it, though.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance.
PS: managing my songs manually is important for me, because the number of songs I have in iTunes is higher than my iPod capacity. So, from time to time, I may want to put some songs in it, and take other songs out of it.

  • Cannot Add Playlists or Movies to New Nano-iTunes "Creates" a New Device

I just purchased a new Nano and I am trying to get it work with iTunes 7.4.1.2 properly. When I connected the Nano, it created a new playlist named after the name I gave the Nano. Everything that is added to this playlist syncs fine. However, when I try to add any other playlists through the Music tab for this device and then re-sync, I get two error messages - "The iPod cannot be synced. The required disc cannot be found" and "iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod."
When these error messages happen, I notice that there is a second Nano appearing under devices (I only own one). This second Nano only has a Summary tab but the serial number is the same as the primary Nano showing up under "Devices."
I have tried everything I can think of. I disconnected and reconnected. I restarted iTunes. I rebooted the computer. I tried Restoring the iPod as suggested. Nothing works and I keep ending up at this same point.
It will also not let me add any video content (Movies, TV) or podcasts, giving me the same error messages above. Photos does work when I set it up adding the folder I want when first connecting the Nano.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am running the latest version (7.4.1.2) on a Sony Vaio running Windows XP.

But will I lose all my contacts (the ones I've added recently) and apps.
If I go back to an older ID, I might lose all my recent stuff with the new ID?

  • Cannot delete playlists on iPod

Howdy. I have a list of 10 or so playlists within iTunes. When I sync with my iPod, it copies the 10 playlists that I have, PLUS about 8 or 9 other OLD playlists that I no longer have in iTunes. So, after a sync, I have 10 playlists on iTunes and 18 playlists on the iPod.
I have done a restore on the iPod, and on my first sync, once again, the old (previously deleted) playlists returned to the iPod.
The only way I have ever been able to remove these playlists from the iPod is to manually manage the iPod and then remove them. But, as soon as I set it to automatically sync, they return.
Since the iPod has been restored, and it still didn't fix it, I'm guessing there is a configuration file somewhere on my Mac that I don't know about which is being repeatedly written to the iPod.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I would recommend recreating your iTunes Library. Be sure to back up the playlists that you DO want to keep, however.

  • Cannot delete playlists from iPod Video

When I connect mu iPod Video to my PC or laptop using Windows XP, my iTunes opens, my iPod is recognized yet I can't see any playlists anywhere in my iPod when connected to the computers. When I disconnect, I have 6 different playlists that I've created over time. I want to delete these as needed. They seem to be created from my "On The Go" playlist when I create one. How can I delete? I've read and followed instructions on the Help site. The biggest problem is that there are no playlists shown when I select iPod from the source list once connected. I can't try to delete if I can't see it.

To clear the entire On-the-Go playlist, on your IPOD go to Music>Playlist>On-the-Go>Clear Playlist
To remove an individual song in a On-the-Go playlist, select the song in the playlist, press and hold the center button until the song flashes.
    Hope that helps you!

  • Cannot add files to iPod

    Hi,
I have an 80GB iPod Classic. I use Windows 7 and Windows XP.
When I try adding media to it through iTunes, it freezes, and I have to disconnect my iPod to make my PC work again. When I disconnect, it says "The iPod 'Shivangi's iPod' cannot be synced. The required folder cannot be found."
When I try to restore, my iPod appears empty in iTunes but when I disconnect it, it returns to its original state.
Many times, my PC doesn't recognize the iPod at all.
I visited an Apple dealership a few days ago, and they successfully added songs to my iPod (they did not use my iPod cable; they used another one) and said that there must be a problem with my computer. But I tested my iPod with two more computers (running Windows) and faced the same problem.
Could there be a problem with my data cable, or is there something wrong with my iPod hard disk?

    Shivangi:
This one is going to be tough. The OTHER category should only have album artwork and pertaining information. It should not have the actual audio files as yours seem to be going in.
I would recommend one more RESTORE however without formatting the iPod Classic separately like we did the last time. Just a straight RESTORE while connected to iTunes. Resync and move your music. If it presents the same issues again then there is a good chance that your HD may be failing.
There is a way to to a diagnosis on the hard drive. If the above does not work then perform the [*_Hard Drive Diagnosis as indicated in this discussion thread_*|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11542633&#11542633] . Please pay particular attention to the post made by TuringTest2 where he explains with detail of what one should be looking for. The Reallocation of the Hard Disk Space is the key. The greater the number the higher the indication that the Hard Drive is failing.

  • Cannot add music to iPod Classic...I've tried everything

A couple weeks ago my ipod started acting up so I restored it based on a suggestion from someone. After I restored the ipod to "factory" conditions I went to add my library back to my ipod and I started running into some issues.
When I would connect my ipod the first thing that popped up was an error checking message from windows asking if I wanted to "scan the disk and fix issues." I would go through the scan and then I would open up itunes again and the ipod would start to sync. itunes would start adding songs but eventually an error message popped up "attempting to copy to the disk failed an unknown error occured" and then when I would dissconnect there would be no music on my ipod and in the settings it would say I have 0 memory. Sometimes I would just add a few songs at a time and it would add the songs to my ipod but eventually an error message would pop up and the ipod would be wiped clean again.
I have tried everything I can think of...I have restored the ipod multiple times, I have reformatted it, and I have looked all over the forums for oter suggestions and nothing has worked.
Wondering if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions?

okay for 1 you have to upload the songs to your itunes then drag them to your ipod and that goes for your itunes songs.

  • ITune won't add playlist to iPod Touch and it automatically syncs

    Hi,
I did a search but couldn't find exactly the answers to my questions.
Okay #1 I plug in my iPod Touch and manually open iTunes. Even though I have clicked manual syncs iTunes ends up syncing automatically.
#2 I have a playlist in iTunes and I can't get it into my iPod Touch.
Murphys Law states that it's all probably an easy fix but for the life of me I can't figure it out... My iPod video is easier to use iTunes but noooo I had to upgrade to the Touch
    Thanks,

Sweet!! That problem is now fixed... I forgot all about clicking the sync in preferences I had it clicked only in the device when the ipod was plugged in.

  • Add playlist to ipod

I just upgraded to the latest iTunes for Windows and am working my way through it.  I figured out how to make a playlist in iTunes, can I drag that onto my ipod as a play list or must I make an on the go playlist?  My wife thought you could create a playlist in iTunes and transfer it over to the ipod.  Help?

I figured this out by looking through some other responses to the new iTunes update.
    Sorry for the wasted post.
While in iTunes I went to the VIEW menu and selected 'Show Column Bar' and now the format looks similar to the older version.  This time the drag and drop worked in the side column.
