  • Can't find my data file to back up, so I can uninstall and reinstall the software. (Windows, Vista & Palm version 6.0.1)

I can't find my data file, in order to back it up.  After going to Documents - Palm One, the only thing that looks like a user name is a file with no data.  Somewhere there has to be another file with all my data, since data is available when I open the Palm One software on my computer.  After backing it up, I want to uninstall and reinstall the Palm One software.  I'm hoping this resolves my inabilty hot sync.  Thanks!  Lauraflavin.

  • None of my "paid" books will open in iBooks.  They show they are there, but when I open them all I get is a blank page.  I have checked all the newbie mistakes.  Mavericks will not let me uninstall and reinstall iBooks.

All the books I paid money for will not open in iBooks on my MAC.  Mavericks will not let me uninstall iBooks, so I cannot uninstall and reinstall it on my Pro.  I have deleted and re-loaded the books and they show in my library (as they always did), but when I open them, all I get is a blank page with three dots at the bottom, flashing in sequence.  This does not affect the free books from the book store nor does it affect the PDF I have loaded myself.  (I had this problem on my iPad when the latest big software came out about a year or two ago, but I was able to re-initalize the complete iPad from my Pro Book.)  I have tried just about everything I can think of, but all to no avail.  To save time, I have reset my iTunes password and performed all the other "Apple Tips" in the support section, but after 5 hours I am giving up.  Surely someone else must be having the same issue??

Yup, same issue since installing Mavericks.  iBooks works fine on my wife's Macbook Pro, but on my Mac Pro none of my purchased (protected) books will open - only the free/unprotected ones.
I'm asked for my AppleID password, but nothing happens when I try to open a purchased and downloaded book.   I deauthorized, reauthorized, etc ... nothing.  Each purchased book that I double-click gives me a dialog asking for my Apple ID password.  Nothing else.
I was already buying more books via Kindle than iTunes and this just seals the deal for me.  At least I can read my already-purchased iBooks books on my iPad still...

  • Cannot open .acsm files in Digital Editions 1.7.1.1085

i have downloaded an ebook in .acsm file but cannot open it in the latest version of Digital Editions.
.acsm files are correctly associated with Digital Editions on my system (i'm running Visa)
when i try to add items to the library, the only allowed extensions are .pdf and .epub.
    hope someone can help

Thank you for your answer, but I forgot to say that yesterday I also tried to download a file from your free library. Actually, I needed to be sure the problem didn't come
from my pc or from the ebookstore I bought the epub files from, anyway, when trying to open files I got the same window with the same message. I don't think
files on your library are expired ones too.
I selected France as region and  French as language, but I live in a french territory in the South Pacific, may this fact be a problem for reading epub files?
Is there any legal way to convert these urlinkascm files into pdf ones?
    Thanks

  • CC does not work after Uninstall and reinstall

Adobe 24/7 help online does not solve the problem. They come up and said to uninstall all, and as the result, I can not access ALL my software. Please help. Error message screen shot attached below.
This is on Home PC, OS: Windows7, 64bit, Core i5, 3.1GHz, 8GB RAM, was working properly more than a year or two. Now, I can not see ALL apps and the only see the "spinning wheel" for 10 minutes and shut down.

The Online chat support team ask me to do these stepts:
    1) End all the Adobe related processes from the Task manager like Adobe CEP Helper,AAMupdater, AAMupdater notifier, Adobe Crash demon process, Coresync ,Creative Cloud.
    2) Deleting the folders in various locations
    3) Install the Creative Cloud Cleaner (.exe file) and run, clean ALL CC things
    4) they give me a link to download and reinstall the CC
    5) at the end, all the same problem. giving the same message as before "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Fi... "This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team...."
Also, the support guy ask me to uninstall ALL CC Apps and I did it. NOW I have nothing left on my computer and I can not work. HELP

  • Itunes says it is installed, but when i try to connect, i get Apple Application not found. have uninstalled and reinstalled many times and always the same

Apple Application Support not in my programs, cause one advice said uninstall everything associated with itunes, so i did and now the it does not get redownloaded. what can i do.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

My ipod touch has lost touch with my itunes account.  I appear to have lost all my audiobooks from itunes and a nook I downloaded from audible.com last week is on my itunes but I cannot syn it to my ipod.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes but this did not work and I now have a different screen with itunes which I am not familiar with.  I need my ipod for audiobooks and podcasts because I have a visual impairment.

iTunes 11 does some thinks differently. See:

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

  • Using digital editions 2.0, I cannot transfer books downloaded to digital editions from library to my nook.  Error message: failed to write destination file.

Using digital editions 2.0, I cannot transfer books downloaded to digital editions from the library to my nook.  I get an error message: failed to write destination file. At first, this happened once in a while but now every time. Help!!!

Modern kobo books should just use regular Adobe DRM and be readable on compatible ereaders that are authorized to the correct Adobe ID.
I understand older kobo book had different DRM: but I wouldn't expect those to
When Adobe DRM book information say 'no copying', that generally means no copying outside those Adobe DRM limitations.
You should be able to copy within the restrictions.  You can double-check that with the sellers (Kobo).
    Just double-checking
the pocket book is Adobe DRM compatible?
that you have authorized your pocket book with your current Adobe ID?
menu/Help/Authorize Device when plugged into ADE:  Library/Authorize Device if using the older more reliable ADE 1.7.2
If the pocket book is already authorized but to a different ID, you will need to deauthorize it first, ctrl-shift-E to ADE with device plugged in (or cmd-shift-E on Mac).
Be aware that will lose the ability to read DRM books authorized with the previous ID.

  • Cs3, 'Digital Editions' NOT highlighted, what happened?

Hello friends, in CS3 indd, 'Digital Editions' NOT highlighted, what happened? Also, I am making a ebook using CS3 indd, how do I put 2 indd files into 1? If anyone can share links using CS3 indd to create epub/ebook for ipad, it would wonderful. I scanned and searched the sea of the internet for articles 'cs3 to create epub/ebook for ipad', i came up empty. I felt it was as if no one would use cs3 to create ebook for ipad. Thank you.

Hi Bob, you are saying I cannot upgrade just the indd from cs3 to cs5 from the Master Collection
That's exactly what I'm saying. You do have some choices though. You can upgrade to Design Premium or even Design Standard which would save you some money.
    Design Premium from CS3: http://amzn.to/kZOsu7
    Design Standard from CS3: http://amzn.to/ir5i7j
Or you could just buy a standalone InDesign license but that makes very little sense to me.
Sorry, but if you're getting into EPUB CS3 just isn't going to cut it.
I saw nothing in Peter's post that made it look like you upgrade just a single app in the suite.

I have an older version of Adobe Digital Editions (around 3 years old) and was very happy with it.
Then I had problems with my Kobo Reader and asked a friend who works in IT to assist. She could not fix the Kobo but she messed up my Addobe. She downloaded version three and I have an account and a password - was not able to transfer my books from my reader to version three (and I don't like the lay-out - I would prefer to stay with the old version as I also loose all my download date info..)
But all the books I have bought over the last three years are in the old Adobe Digital and I cannot access them any more. When I use it I get the message "that the document is licensed to a different account. I can't even open the books on my computer.
When I go to my Kobo library, I cannot also not open my books and get the message "this doc is protected by adobe digital rights management and is not currently authorized for use with your adobe. please sign in with your authorized adobe id and try again"
I believe the problem is that I do not seem to have a digital id for my old adobe or that the Kobo is not in sync with it anymore.
can you please help me - going on vacation in three days and cannot go without books.

Please authorize ADE 3 with same credentials that you used with older version of ADE

  • The file '/foo.aspx' has not been pre-compiled, and cannot be requested

    Hi All
I am using odp .net to access oracle data. I have also added oracle.dataaccess in my asp .net references. Everything works fine in my development and when I run the code through debugger. However, when I deploy the project in IIS, it gave me following error...
"The file '/foo.aspx' has not been pre-compiled, and cannot be requested
This is pretty generic error and I found out this is related to .Net assemblies.
By further investigation, I found that oracle.dataacess.dll is not present in the bin directory of a deployed web site. I am not sure why .net is dropping that dll in the deployment wizard.
Did anyone encounter this problem before?
I got a workaround for now that manually copting dll into the bin directory of deplyed web site. However, I am looking for more robust and technical answer..
The strange thing is I have been deploying the web site the same way for last 8 months and never encountered this problem.
    thanks a lot..

If you add a reference to Oracle.DataAccess at design time it will be added as an assembly definition to web.config. Then you don't need a copy in your bin dir and it will be found in the GAC.

  • Mac Digital Editions not Downloading eBooks through Safari

I recently had problem with Adobe Digital Editions not downloading files from the MyMediaMall library website. It had worked initially, but developed a fault probably to do with Safari. I could download limited titles from the Adobe sample book web page but nothing from the library's site. To fix the problem it was necessary to remove Digital Editions from my computer and reinstall it. To remove digital Editions completely it is necessary to do the following.
To completely delete Adobe Digital Editions from an iMac with Snow Leopard OS 10 locate delete the following folders and files:
    1. Under, /Documents/Digital Editions, drag the Digital Editions folder to the trash
    2. Locate, /Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/digitaleditions. Drag the digitaleditions1x5 folder to the Trash. Empty the Trash.
    3. Open the "Keychain" utility located in Applications/Utilities. In the left hand column under category click Passwords. Locate and click "Digital Editions" in the main window. Right click this file and click delete.
    4. With these files and folders deleted download and reinstall the Adobe Digital Editions software. It will be necessary to go through the authorization process again.
I hope this will save another Mac/Safari user some trouble in the future.

  • TS1717 My itunes won't open and I get message that says "The file iTunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes." I am unsure what this means, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled the itunes, and it still will not

I receive the message: The file "iTunes library.itl"cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes. I do not know exactly what this means.  I have Windows 7 on my computer and was able access itunes until just recently.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes multiple times and that does not work.  Sometimes I can get in when immediately after installing, but then if I close it, i cannot get back in. Now, i can't get in at all.

That message is usually a sign that you tried to roll back to an earlier build of iTunes, but occasionally I've seen it connected to a new upgrade. This technique should fix things.
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
