Cannot attach files to Yahoo email account since new Safari installed

Hello. I don’t know why, but since I installed the new Safari update, I’ve been having trouble attaching files to my Yahoo email account. The entire Safari just sort of freezes. I can’t even click on anything.
Another minor but irritating problem since the installment: sometime video clips cannot be played (like on Youtube). I would have to quit and reopen to get to usual condition.
Anyone know how to solve these problems? Thanks!

HI,
The problem is BrowserPlus. It's not compatible with Safari 5.
Instructions for uninstalling BrowserPlus here. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/browserplus/uninstall.html
If you don't want to do that, you revert to the previous version of Safari, instructions here.
http://appletoolbox.com/2010/06/downgrade-from-safari-5-0-to-safari-4-0-5/
Then update to Safari 5 at a later date.

  • Can't attach files in yahoo email with Lion

After installing Lion, I'm unable to attach files from my Yahoo email account.!x?
Also, I am unable to print from my Epson NX 400 printer as Epson has provided an update for Mac OS X v10.7+
Anyone have recommendations to correct issues, other than deleting Lion and reistalling Snow Leopard?

antivirus was not a problem since there was not one installed. Firewall settings are fine. I did just finally resolve this issue. Spyhunter was able to detect a couple of hijackers that the other programs did not and this fixed the problem. As I stated in the original post I did suspect this was the issue. The lesson learned is to run multiple malware programs until you find one that eliminates the problem if you suspect malware as the problem.

  • Can not attach photos using Yahoo email account

I am new to the Mac OPS and maybe it is just something that I do not know, but why can't I attach photos to an email using my Yahoo email account? I have read the way to change the preference of email providers, ie: entourage or mac mail. But I have neither accounts. I was just wondering if there was a way to do this, or if the program could be updated so that it could be possible.

Yahoo email is a service not an application. If you have the Pro version of this service then you can set it to work with one of the applications in the iPhoto preferences. Otherwise you'll need to use one of these:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
    Regards

  • Unable to Attach Files in Yahoo! Mail Since Upgrading to Safari 5

  • Suddenly I am unable to attach files in yahoo email while using firefox, but when I use IE, there is no problem in attaching files. The problem is existing for last 5 days.

Even files of small size are not getting attached in yahoo mail when I use firefox. However there is no problem when I use IE.

Thank you jscher2000. Yes my PDFs do contain the .pdf extension. I tried your excellent idea to utilize the drag and drop method, but I still get the same error message with PDFs. I have no problem attaching photos or Word documents with either method; just PDFs.
For further diagnostics, I started composing my email in Safari, attached all my pdfs and saved my email as a Draft.  I then went to Firefox, opened the draft to continue working on it, and voila!  There are all the pdfs I attached previously while in Safari.  I was able to send the email with attachments through Firefox with no issues. The attachments went through and were able to be opened.
I am mystified, as Firefox has been trouble-free with my email account, and I have never had this particular issue till today. I made no changes to anything else on my computer, but I did notice very late last night that Outlook had one of those typical messages at the top of my Inbox to refresh my browser since Outlook had been updated. I refreshed and shut down for the night, and when I rebooted this morning that is when I discovered this brand new glitch with attachments. I'm assuming this has something to do their last update.

  • Why can't I attach files using Yahoo email? I've clicked on 'Attach files more easily' and nothing happens. With all other browsers, I have no issues attaching files.

I want to attach Word files to some of my yahoo emails. Instead of the word 'attach' like on all other browsers, Fierfox wants me to click on 'Attach files more easily' and download this. Nothing happens leaving me unable to use Firefox if I wish to use my yahoo email and send attachments, files or pics.

The only way I can open a PDF is to launch the Reader X software and click "open files" from there.  Obviously, this doesn't help me since I need to email PDFs to clients, and printing 'n faxing isn't an option.
You don't need Adobe Reader to email PDFs to clients.

Walter2323,  Sorry to learn that you are having this issue and welcome to the HP forums,
Have try using this tool to install the printer GO HERE  give it a try please let me know if you encounter any errors.
Another Step that I will take is to disable all securtiy applications before installing the printer this will ensure that one of this application is not blocking a critical process needed to properly install the printer.
Are able to print from the computer via usb and/or wireless?
    Hope this helps and let me know if I can assist you any further;

  • Cannot send mail from yahoo email account.

I recently developed a problem with sending messages through the ipad mail app. The primary server is Yahoo! SMTP Server with the SSL use on and port 465 open. However the hostname isn't specific. Just says "Yahoo! SMTP Server". I can't access it to change it so I made a second one below it as outbound.att.net because on AT&T website they changed the smtp settings. The outgoing mail port # is still the same...465 and I read online to change to 25 if the account is a business yahoo email but mine isn't and the ipad froze on me while attempt to verify. Can someone help me sort this out? I only have this issue when I'm on the actual data plan and I'm on the go.

Not sure about yahoo, but for gmail, I done the following:
Set up using Exchange on iPhone, it'll keep prompting for password.  On PC use captcha option, log in to gmail account from PC after completingg captcha option, enter password on iPhone.
See how that goes for gmail, let us know.
Hopefully someone will have fix for yahoo.

  • Lion running Safari 5.1 cannot attach files in Yahoo Mail

I've seen a bunch of various threads on this over years, but none have answered it for my situation.
In this case clicking the "Attach" button in Yahoo Mail does absolutely nothing.  No freezes or crashes - it just will not invoke a file tree to pick the attachment from.
I just migrated over frrom a 2009 Mini to a 2011 Mini.  The exact same browser version running in Snow on the old Mini was working perfectly 2 days ago.
    Thoughts?

Thanks Carolyn - Done as per your suggestion!
I'm pretty sure this is something I couldn't do in Snow?  (I''ve only been using Lion for a few days now). - And/or this is something Yahoo only started to allow recently - before, in the old days POP Mail was an add on Pay feature.  IMAP is new(ish) for them.  Maybe this is something I never looked for either (old dog/new tricks)
Speaking of Lion - looking to make sure the Yahoo messages were copying off of the Yahoo servers I looked for them in -  Home/Library/Mail - but that's hidden in Lion now.  Go-> ~/Library reveals that it's all downloading fine.
FWIW - The "ATTACH" button started working again for me this morning without doing a single thing.  No restart, didn't quit anything - left the Mac to sleep for 5 hours and tried again and it's working!  Strange.

  • URLs are not "live" in my Yahoo email account since I switched to Firefox. How can I make the URL in my signature line live?

I put an automatic signature beneath each outgoing email, and that signature includes a URL. I've sent emails to myself in both my Yahoo and Hotmail accounts, and the URL does not come through as live. That is, I can't just click on it and go. I have to copy/paste it into a browser window, and most people won't do that. It's a full URL:

  • Can no longer attach files to yahoo email

Everything was fine until yesterday. Now when I try to attach a file it indicates that it is doing so but never actually finishes. I have waited for over 10 minutes for a small WORD document that previously had attached in a few seconds. I'm using yahoo and when I get there via MSN explorer 8 it does work, but not with firefox.

Please create a screenshot of the problem you're seeing by following the guide mentioned at [[How do I create a screenshot of my problem?]].
Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the '''Browse...''' button below the ''Post your reply'' box. This will help us to visualize the problem.
'''Try the Firefox Safe Mode''' to see how it works there. The Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.''
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4.0+ Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Don't select anything right now, just use "'Start in Safe Mode"''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shift key) to open it again.''

  • I cannot attache files using Firefox for Hotmail or Yahoo - IE works - help!

Wed night 3/2 and this am 3/4 cannot attach any files pdf or doc while using Firefox in my Hotmail or yahoo email accounts. I did a virus speep and none was found. I opened internet explorer on the same home computer and was able to attach the files via my email accounts. Any help?

You have a lot of changes to your setting in the network.http section. These are listed in the More System Details list to the right of your question under "Question Details". Do you recall making those changes, or did you use some kind of browser speedup or tuning software that could have done it?
To test how Firefox runs "uncustomized" on your system, could you do a two-minute experiment?
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
You'll click the Create Profile button. I recommend using the default location suggested (don't click the button to choose a different folder). Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
    Do sites work more normally?
When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.
