Cannot collectto BT cloud

I cannot connect to BT cloud.
A fully up to date windows 8.1 machine working off a home network with a gigabit switch. BT cloud installs but fails to connect giving the same  error message.
"Cannot connect to service check your network connection."
I have tried re installing and also followed the link from a previous thread with what appears to be the same problem and updated the security certificate. no help. I have checked the Firewall and it should let BTCloud through.
No problem with any other internet services.
Seems to be a problem for a few people. Any suggestions?

PS Does the  fact Windows 8.1 forces an install of Microsoft cloud have anything to do with this ?

    We don't know what Apple plans on doing to change this (and it may not be just Apple but more likely the publishers, since Apple would, of course, do whatever it could to maximize sales/profits).  Right now you can only read Apple books on mobile devices. Sure, buy them from Amazon if you want to read them on the computer. We don't work for Apple so we're pretty impartial on this kind of advice.
    You might also see what your library can offer.  My wife can browse the county library from her iPhone, borrow e-versions, and read books on it too.  Free!

    This may be due to iPhoto or Aperture not having been reinstalled on your system.
    What do I need to use My Photo Stream?
    To use My Photo Stream you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:

    in addition to John's hint you should have a look there to "correct answer" in https://forums.adobe.com/message/5441322#5441322 "Creative Cloud client will not download". There Sumit Singh talks about "I am suspecting the AAM URI handler is not working." and gives stepwise advices.

    Should be in System Preferences as iCloud. Perhaps you need to try a reinstall. iPhoto is not part of OS X. Upgrades or  purchases of iPhoto take place on the App Store.

    Try these in order:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
         Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
         COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
         after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
         Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

    There is no iCloud icon to tap on and launch it like it is an app. Furthermore, you do not need to access your iCloud.com account from the iPad either since everything that would be in iCloud.com is already on your iPad.

    If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
    1. Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
    2. Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
    3. Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    4. Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.
