Cannot connect extender to network - possible problems??

I've tried placing it diff paces around the house and installing. Have tried installing with the CD and manually. What could possibly the problem? I can connect to signal but there's not internet cause it won't connect to the router. Does my router have to be linksys too?

Try to use the RE1000 as a wireless adapter. Connect your computer to the RE1000 and then access the RE1000's ui. Under wireless>> site survey tab, try to look for the available wireless network and check if the RE1000 will be able to detect the router.

  • Iphone 3GS "cannot connect to data network"

Ever since I updated to the new operating system, my phone (3GS) hasn't worked properly. Sometimes with 3 or even 4 bars of 3G I cannot make phone calls or send text messages or use the browser. I feel like I've tried everything; I have: restored it, restarted it, reset network settings. I receive the "cannot connect to data network" very often, extremely frustrating. If anyone has any fixing advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If no change after restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, there may be a problem with the SIM card. Contact your carrier which should be Rogers with a 3GS, and request a new SIM card.

  • TS1398 I did everything you are recommend to do and still cannot connect to the network. "Unable to join network" shows up even that is a university network working for other users - students and staff. I am very unhappy with my new iphone 5 :(

I did everything recommended on apple store support site and still cannot connect to the network with my new iphone 5 but my co-workers and students (I work for the university) can keep connectivity all the time. I am very unhappy with my new phone

Be patient, Apple is coming out with a update soon, its been reported that they have sent the update to the carriers to test, which means it will be soon. And is suppose to address this issue.

  • [SOLVED] Cannot connect to wireless networks any more after update

    Hello,
I updated my system some days ago and, after that, I can't connect to wireless networks any more.
My network card is ath9k and I'm currently using wicd.
When I try to connect to my wireless network, I get "Veryfing AP association" message, then it fails to connect.

This particular line caught my attention: " wlan0: de-authenticating from 00:1c:10:57:47:17 by local choice (reason=3)". So I searched for it (without the MAC address) on the internet and found several solutions for it, involving wpa_supplicant, dhcpcd, IPv6 (disable it on /etc/sysctl.d/40-ipv6.conf) and card power management (operation not supported, don't have option on BIOS), but none of them worked for me.

Then. please post the output of lspci -nn and of ip link
Then, take a look at the output of sudo iw wlan0 scan
and see if you can see your AP.  Also, verify that your wireless is called wlan0 by checking the ouput of ip link

  • IPod Touch cannot connect to wireless network

I have a 1 TB, dual-band time capsule with a wireless network created to share our broadband internet connection for our main computer (the iMac), a windows PC, an iPhone 3G, and a 2nd gen iPod touch to connect to the internet. Wireless security for this network is WPA/WPA2 Personal. The windows box and the iPhone 3G connect without problem, but the iPod touch does not seem to connect correctly. The device sees the network, prompts for the password, and seems to be connected (wi-fi symbol visible in top left corner of device), but when trying to view a website using the Safari app, the screen dims and an endless "Connecting..." message is visible. Furthermore, when trying to update e-mail, I get a message that the connection to the server failed.
It is worth noting that the iPod did not always have this problem. It was able to connect to the wi-fi network until a few weeks ago. This may have been due to the upgrade to Snow Leopard, or perhaps due to an incident where the windows PC lost its connection to the network. When this occurred, I had to disable all security on the network, connect the PC to the network, then re-enable security (as I had to do when first installing the Time Capsule; for whatever reason, the windows box had a hard time joining the network with security enabled). Anyway, one of these two events is the likely cause of the iPod suddenly being unable to connect; I'm sorry to say that I'm uncertain as to which one, because my wife uses the device sporadically, so we cannot pinpoint exactly when this difficulty started.
As for attempted solutions, I tried resetting the iPod back to factory settings, only to have the same connection issues. I also changed the network security settings to None, and attempted to connect the iPod to the network (even though it should have no problem connecting to a secure network), but still no go. I am short on ideas for a fix, and would gladly welcome any advice the community has to offer. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. My new Touch connects fine to my work wireless network (WEP64) - still does. But my home wireless network is SOL. I can join the router, wireless icon is in upper left corner (although gray, not green). I can even see the Touch from my router (Verizon FIOS). All other laptops in the house including wireless TiVo work flawlessly. I have not undone my security on my router yet - looks like it won't help. I have tried using static IP and I can still see iPod from router. But I cannot browse, go to AppStore, check email (which works great from work network), and have exact same error messages as above post. It has to be a security thing somewhere, I just didn't want to mess with router if I didn't have to. If I figure it out, I will post here........

  • Domain users cannot connect to the network folders when logged in via rds remote apps

    Hi,
recently I setup an RDS farm for remote apps on server 2012 r2.
all users can connect to the apps published. no problems there.
but when users connect via rds they cannot connect to the networkfolders and cannot store the resultance of there work (docx and xlsx files)
all users are normally connected to the networkfolders using a small login batch file handing down the unc path needed. when I log in as domain admin, also using a login batch, connections are setup correctly. It seems to me to be an security issue on the
    rds session host.
    how to alter this?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
We use WMI to communicate with the RDSH server. Various issues can cause WMI to deny access or return error codes. Here's a few things you can try:
    1.  Check if the "TS Web Access Computers" security group on the RDSH server has incorrect permissions in DCOM and/or WMI:
       For checking DCOM security settings:
       1. Start the Component Services MMC snapin
       2. Navigate to Component Services -> Computers -> My Computer
       3. Right-click on My Computer and select properties
       4. Go to the COM Security tab
       5. Under Access Permissions, click the Edit Limits button
       6. Ensure that TS Web Access Computers is in the list, with all of the permissions set to “allow”.
       7. Under Launch and Activation Permissions, click the Edit Limits button
       8. Ensure that TS Web Access Computers is in the list, with all of the permissions set to “allow”.
       For checking WMI security settings:
       1. Start the WMI Control MMC snapin
       2. Right-click the WMI Control node and select properties
       3. Go to the Security tab
       4. Navigate to Root->CIMV2->TerminalServices
       5. With TerminalServices selected, click the Security button
       6. Ensure that TS Web Access Computers is in the list with Execute Methods, Enable Account, and Remote Enable set to "allow"
    2.  Verify the RD Session Host server's firewall allows WMI calls.
    3. Verify that the RD Connection Broker hasn't lost its trust relationship with the domain.
    4. See if non-RDS related WMI calls can be successfully made to the RDSH server. This can help differentiate between a general WMI issue and an issue calling the RDS WMI provider.

  • ITunes 8 - Cannot connect to iStore - "network connection time out"

I've been running V7 with no problems. Updated to 8 (due wanting to use ipod Touch). Cannot connect to the iStore (everything else works fine). Receive the following message "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection timed out."
I've read other posts and tried the various suggestions i.e. switching off Norton, flushing the DNS etc. but still have the problem. Just de-installed iTunes and re-installed but still the same problem.
Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong ?
    Any help much appreciated.

  • IPad mini Cannot Connect to ANY network, best course of action?

iPad mini was working until around 6 PM, where it just stopped connecting to wifi and internet just stopped.
Tried all methods that was discussed in the past post, which included resetting network setting in Settings section, hard reset, putting the iPad in airplane mode and out, etc.
One method I haven't tried is to do is reset network. Problem is, the device is tied with Find my iPad, and in order to wipe everything, I need to sign in to iCloud, which I cannot, since the internet would not connect at all.
The connection is not limited to just my home wifi network, but it would not connect to my local Starbucks, school wifi, or even my friend's house.
What would be the best course of action? The iPad mini is out of warranty, and it was purchased immedietley after it came out, and the nearest Apple store is 70 miles up north in Portland, OR.

Tried it via DFU mode, still giving me "Unable to join the network" error.
The Apple Store is 70 miles away up north, but the weather condition is making it difficult to travel. And I kind of need the iPad within next couple of days......
How much would the repair estimate be if the wifi chip needs to be replaced?

  • TS1398 i have a good signal on my ipad wi fi but cannot connect to the network

I have a good wi fi connection on my ipad but cannot connect to the network

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Two Issues: Cannot connect to wireless networks; Cannot load certain sites

    Hey everybody,
    I have a MacBook Pro 15".
In just the past week, I've stumbled upon two sudden problems with my network/internet connectivity.
First, I can no longer connect to wireless networks, be it an infrastructure point or computer-to-computer ad-hoc networks. I'm not really sure why. I installed the latest AirPort Update (4.2.3, according to System Profiler). I also recently installed both iStumbler and KisMac v.21. When I started having issues, I thought that maybe one of these two programs might be the culprit, so I uninstalled both of them but I still have the same problem.
Second, I've had issues with not being able to connect to certain websites. I use both Safari and BonEcho as my browsers. The specific sites seem random:
    www.weffriddles.com
    www.macrumors.com
    images.google.com
    sports.yahoo.com
    finance.yahoo.com
    to list a few.
If you need any diagnostic information, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any advice/help you can provide!

If you are trying to connect to a third-party router using WPA or WEP, there is a good chance that your Airport card was broken by Apple's 2007-02 Airport Update. There is no fix, and for many of us, our Macbooks and Macbook Pros are useless for wireless connections until Apple fixes the issue. At this point, Apple seems to be denying that there even is an issue, so we may all be in for a long wait indeed.

  • HP Laserjet P1102w cannot connect to my network..

I posted a week ago on this and am asking again. I have recently installed a new dlink dir835 router. Prior to the new router I used a dlink 615 and my P1102w printer connected to the network just fine. The printer will not connect to my new router which is set up with WPA security. On a previous post I was told that this printer doesn't work with WPA routers. Can someone confirm that to me, I find nothing in the manual that says that. If it is not compatible with WPA security, is there a patch or update somewhere that I can use so that I don't have to buy a new printer? I am not sure if my new router can be changed to WEP security. Do I want to downgrade its security to WEP?

Why don't you see if it can connect at all first.  Disable all security on the router and connect and install with NO security.  If successful, go back and add WPA2-AES and your new password and check.

  • Cannot connect to wireless network from a new HP Officejet Pro 6830

Just purchased a HP Officejet Pro 6830 wireless printer.
Set it up connecting my Dell PC and it initially worked.
    THEN something happened.
ICON on screen on printer indicates "NO WIRELESS NETWORK FOUND"
Tried rebooting the Cable modem, then the router, then the printer and then the PC.
    Still did not work.
    What should I do?
    Thank you for any help.

  • Cannot connect to wifi network

I've seen other folks discussing issues with Wifi connectivity in Mavericks, but can't find a specific answer to my problem - hopefully somebody can chime in.
I recently purchased a (refurbished) 15" retina Macbook Pro, Mid-2012 model.  It came with Mountain Lion installed, but I immediately updated to Mavericks. My home wifi is secured with WPA2 - Personal, and I was initially able to connect even after the Mavericks update.  However, my wifi speeds were terribly slow, so I went and changed the router settings in the hopes of speeding things up (using a separate computer connected directly to the router).
As soon as I made the changes, my Macbook was unable to connect to the network.  The name of my network still appeared in the list of available networks, but as soon as I selected it I recieved a message saying "Wifi network "(network name)" could not be joined." It would not even give me a prompt to enter my password, just an option to run diagnostics, which provided no help whatsoever.
I tried reverting the router to the previous settings, but the issue persists. I am able to connect to other nearby WPA2 secured networks (or at least get a prompt to enter a password), but not the one I was using previously. I am able to connect to my network if I disable the security, but as I live in a fairly large apartment building, that's not a permanent solution. Anybody have any insight into what might be causing this issue?

I have an android phone as well and i found an app called "wifi tether" version 3.1-beta. They listed as web address in the about section on the app http://android-wifi-tether.googlecode.com i am not sure if the address is good but it might give you some insight. The app works for me on my k1. But you are right ad-hoc support would be great.
