Cannot connect to control panel

I dont know if this is the right place to post this but up until today I can no longer use a custom ip adress or anything like that and http://192.168.1.1 wont even connect for me anymore it just sais it has timed out. does anyone have any clue how I cant fix this?

oh, I understand now... I believe what you are referring to as a custom IP adress is a manually assigned one in your TCP/IP... but let me ask you, which of your computer is getting a problem.. the one you presented is very broad. Can we very specific to get to the exact problem. If only your wireless computer here in not getting online, you must make sure that the wireless settings of your wireless router is exactly the same settings on your adapter or the wireless monitor you have installed on that specific computer that has the wusb54gsc. Or you can use windows xp configuration utility. View the available network list, if your networking is showing on the list, connect to it. You don't need to set static IP adress on youir TCP/IP to get an IP adress. Once your computer is connected, your computer should automatically get an IP adress already.

• Cannot connect Excel 2010 PowerPivot to Oracle

I am unable to connect to an Oracle database in powerpivot from excel 2010.
I have a 32-bit machine, and my version of excel is 2010 (32-bit). In normal excel, I can connect to the oracle database and extract data no problem, however this is not working in powerpivot.
The steps I am taking in powerpivot are
click "Get External Data from Other sources", which takes me to Table Import Wizard
click option "Others (OLEDB/ODBC)". I then click Build which brings me to a Data Link Properties window and I select my data source name from drop down menu, and enter my username & password and als also tick check box for "Allow saving
password", and then when I click on Test Connection it comes back successful.
After clicking Ok, it brings me back to Table Import Wizard, and displays the connection sting as:-
Provider=MSDASQL;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=testuser;DSN=OF_UAT;Password=**********
However, when I now click Test Connection, I get below error and cannot proceed further:-
ERROR [IM006] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed
ERROR [28000] [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied
I'm not overly familiar with powerpivot, so would appreciate any help on this.

First you should to create ODBC Connection using Control panel\Administrative Tools:
DSName is a clue to check source in XL\Menu\Data\Other..\ODBC...
If you want to use ODBC in VA Code, here is a

• No control panel after downloading 7.0

after downloading 7.0 cannot get the control panel to come up.

I had the same issue. I have a Griffin Survival case, and I really have to squish my finger in the bottom edge of my phone to be able to access my control center. I won't give up the protective features of my case, I love it. I guess I'll just do without the cool control center, because I know there's NO WAY Apple is going to move the access point because some cases don't allow enough surface to touch that low on the screen. It's really funny too, of all the cases available for protective purposes, the Survivor was the only one that didn't inhibit the sensitivity of the touch screen.

• Windows explorer crashed when I try to open control panel

I have a Linx 10 tablet with windows 8.1 installed. my daughter downloaded a fake chrome installer and when she tried to install it nothing happened (apparently). I installed AVG 15 and it immediately detected a load of files infected with a
virus which it removed. Now I cannot open the control panel. The window opens but is empty and then it hangs and I can only close the window by using task manager. I tried to perform a system recovery (Full factory reset) using the recovery
utility but it just sits there preparing. I have tried to open a number of control panel utilities nut they either don't run or open a window the same as control panel and can only be closed by using task manager.
I suspect that some of the files infected were system files used by windows as some of them were dll files.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
Since this problem caused by virus infection, first of all, we need to use anti-virus software scan your system to make sure the virus were killed.
Secondly, to fix this problem, you can try to use SFC /scannow
command to fix system componments dll files lost or corrupt.
If no use, try to use DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
instead for test.

• Beats control panel and win 10

since i upgrade my envy 20 with win 10 i cannot open beats control panel sound any solution? thanks

Hi there , Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great site to get answers and ask questions. I have looked into the issue with not being able to open the Beats Control Panel. I just need your Model Number (How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?). Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues. Have you tried to uninstall the drivers? 1. Uninstall the sound driver in Device Manager2. Restart your Notebook3. Reinstall the driver? Have you tried to uninstall, restart and reinstall the program? If that does not work, try using the Recovery Manager to reinstall the software and drivers. Here is a document called Downloading or Updating Software and Drivers for HP Computers. You could also try to do Windows Updates and see if there are any available to help with the Software issue. Please follow these provided troubleshooting steps, re-post and let me know how everything went. Thank you! Have a great day!

• HELP! Control Panel missing and booting problems

For some reason I cannot access the control panel where all the icons for networking, hardware and so and so on normally are to be found.
It is not present as an icon on the dock and does not appear when in the "apple" menu I click the german translated name of it"Systemeinstellungen". Am I forced to install again the whole Leopard !!! or is it htere a way to get the panel back?
I have also general problems. Often I am forced to start twice the Mac since it remains the first time in the booting process with the multicolour round wheel spinning endlessly.
Thanks in advance ;-))

Given your collection of problems reinstalling seems a good idea:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

• Parental control control panel not working

• Excel-2007 cannot connect to Oracle ODBC data source, Control Panel can.

I cannot make an ODBC connection from Exce-2007 to Oracle work. I am an expert Excel and VBA user (since 1994) and I have frequently used Excel to access ODBC databases, including Oracle (I have done this with Excel-2003 both with worksheet queries and have written VBA ADO-connection routines). And even though in Excel-2007 a worksheet ODBC query is supposed to be easier to create than in previous version of Excel, my connection fails. Any suggestions and all help are welcome and much appreciated.
DETAILS

1) What is my system? I am using Excel-2007 on Windows Vista x64 and Oracle server v.11g on my computer (all this is on my computer, no network issues).
2) Why use Excel with Oracle at all? I use Excel-2007 to access Oracle rather than Access-2007 (or any other application like TOAD, etc.) because I do engineering calculations with the data stored in Oracle. These calculations are easier done in Excel (I suppose that one alternative to this could be to use some sql or Access to get the data from the database, then store it as plain vanilla CSV file, then open this file in Excel, then do the math (the math involves complex optimisation algorithms), then save the results as CSV, then use some sql or Access to put the data back into the database. Howwever this does not strike me as a quick or neat solution. And after all Excel has been designed to access ODBC databases, so why not use it?)
3) What do I do in Excel-2007 that won't work? I create an ODBC link to Oracle that does not work. In Excel-2007 this is straightforward:

define an ODBC connection (Data tab --> From other sources --> From data connection wizard);

define a query on the worksheet -- that's it, this is all!

I start with creating an ODBC connection:
a) I choose an ODBC data source type: ODBC DSN
b) Excel-2007 displays the list of the available ODBC data sources. I see in it my Oracle database name and I select it.
c) Excel-2007 displays the Data Link Properties:
- the "Provider" has a list of the OLE DB drivers with preselected "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers". I keep this default selection.
- the "Connection" tab has a connection string "DSN=<my database name>" which I keep, it also has fields for the user name and the password, which I fill with the correct credentials.
- Finally there is a button "Test Connection", which when I click produces the following error message:
"Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider.
Unespecified error"

4) Additional food for thought:
a) In the above walk-through the only data, which I type, are the user name and password, everything else is selected from lists offered by Excel-2007, hence any possibility of typos being the cause of the problem can safely be discarded.
b) I can test the ODBC driver in the Control Panel and it shows that it can connect to the Oracle database:
- in Control Panel --> Admin Tools --> Data Sources (ODBC) on the "User DSN" tab I can see the list of the available ODBC data sources (same list as in Excel-2007, point 3b above) with the name of my database in it;
- selecting the name of my database from the list of the sources and clicking "Configure" button opens a tab with Data Source Name (same as in Excel-2007), TNS Service Name and User ID. I enter <user name>/<password> and click "Test Connection" button. A message "Connection successful" appears (just for a test I enter incorrect user credentials and "Unable to connect" message appears)
BOTTOM LINE

The procedure for using an ODBC connection from Excel is very simple, in the past I have created and used such connections numerous times with Excel-2003 and earlier on Win-XP and earlier. But now on Excel-2007 and Vista-x64 I cannot make it work.
Also, testing an ODBC connection driver is really easy and simple to be done in the Control Panel. There testing the same ODBC connection, which fails in Excel-2007, results in success.
I am frustrated by the simplicity of the problem and yet the persistant error. I have lost now two full days in failed attempts to make the simple procedure work and in searching the internet for answers.
All help is highly appreciated ,

Did you find the solution to your problem?
If not, I think I may know.
Excel 2007 is a 32-bit application.
When installing 32-bit applications in a 64-bit environment, the "default" location is:
C:\Program files (x86)\...
Excel then launches from this location.
However, when it connects to Oracle and passes the name of the calling program, Oracle attempts to "interpret" the value of (x86) as if
the value within the parenthesis are being passed as a reference. Of course, iOracle doesn't find anything, so the result is (),
and then it cannot return the connection info back to the calling application.
I corrected it by installing Excel in C:\Program Files\, and once launched from that location, it works the same as on the 32-bit machines.
However, at my location, they are FORCING Excel to be installed in the(x86) location.
What I'm trying to discover now is:
Is it possible to flag Oracle to NOT process the embedded variables?
Or, is it possible to assign a variable in Oracle such that x86 = "(x86)", so that the end result is viable?
Have you had any luck with your installation?
thanks,
Paul
