Cannot create AR Invoice negative amount with WithHolding Tax negative amount via DI API

Hi All,
I tried to create AR Invoice Document via DI API, but with negative amount and negative withholding tax amount.
Document added successfully, but when i open the document in SAP, and i open WTax Table information, withholding tax amount become zero,
Please see image below.
But when i add the same document through SAP Screen, i can fill WTax Amount with negative amount.
SAP Version 9.0 PL 5

Hello.
If this is different to the behavior of the B1 application it should be considered a bug - like any such difference between DI API and app.

    Hi Friends,
    Need your help again.
    Using T. Code FB09, i can change WHT base as long as the invoice is not cleared. However, how to change WHT base where a particular invoice has been cleared?
    I have actually made some cchanges to configuration where by i have removed tick for 'line item not cleared'. Ideally with this setting it should allow me to change to WHT base. But the same is not happening.
    Can any one help me out with  any other steps that are involved.

    Please review note 363650 here you will see the following
    information;
    C) Change Rules for classical and extended withholding tax
          If the withholding tax base amount should be changed after a
          docment has been paid already, the following steps are required:
          For Classical Withholding Tax and only if the withholding tax
         amount is zero.
         Change of withholding tax base amount or withholding tax code of a
         cleared invoice.
         If the withholding tax base amount and/or the withholding tax code
         needs to be changed after an invoice has been cleared please follow
         steps;
    As you see from the above information the following quotation "only if
    the withholding tax amount is zero".
    If a withholding tax amount other than zero has been posted, you cannot
    change the values via transaction FB02.
    Please also review the IMG documentation for transaction OB32 via
    spro -> Financial accounting -> Financial accounting global settings
    -> Document -> Line item -> Document change rules, line item.

    In this activity, you determine under which circumstances fields within
    posted documents can be changed.
    Note
    For a number of fields, the system itself determines that they can no
    longer be changed after posting. This includes all fields which are

    The system also prevents the update objects from being changed in
    documents which have already been posted, independent of the document
    change rules
    Thus as you can see from the above description if an amount has been
    posted to the account you cannot change the fields despite entering in
    the field in OB32 as changable.

  • Post document with BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST with withholding taxes

    Hi everyone!
    I have to post some documents that I got from an Excel file. At first, they were G/L documents, so I only filled the table parameter ACCOUNTL of BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST to set the "account data" (without using ACCOUNTRECEIVABLE, ACCOUNTPAYABLE, ACCOUNTTAX or ACCOUNTWT).
    After a few, another Posting Keys were allowed in the lines of the documents obtained from the excel file, so the documents can be G/L documents, receipts, etc.But, I still put every account data in ACCOUNTGL, and the created documents were right (at least nobody complained about them :P ).
    No, 3 fields have been added in the excel file:
    - QSSHB: Withholding Tax Base Amount
    - QSFBT: Withholding Tax-Exempt Amount (in Document Currency)
    - QSSKZ: Withholding Tax Code
    As I understood, this BAPI is ready to allow withholding taxes, and I suppose I should have to fill this fields that I receive into some tables that are used as parameters in the BAPI. For example,
    ACCOUNTWT-WT_CODE = Withholding Tax Code
    ACCOUNTWT-BAS_AMT_LC = Withholding Tax Base Amount (Local Currency)
    I think I should use this table (I don't know where I could "put" the other one). My question is, can I do that without using tables ACCOUNTRECEIVABLE and ACCOUNTPAYABLE? My feeling is that is not completely right not to use these tables if the documents are vendor or customer documents... If that's possible.. is it right to put the 2 fields that I have used in the last example (*) to fill that? Where I should put the third field??

    Dear Sreeraj,
    The situations would be multiple, but to be precise I'll provide you one scenario where this BAPI would be failing to do the posting. The scenario is like this:
    1. If you consider GL posting using F-02 by changing any of the reference fields XREF1, or XREF2, the BAPI has to consider the varying screens of each of the line items which internally depends on Transaction Variants of different screens of the Document, which the BAPI will fail to do so.
    2. Also, if there is a Taxation to be done for each Item, still it should consider the above scenario and fill the WITH tables accordingly.

    When I try to upload FI docs by program RFBIBL00 in LSMW, the field BWITH-WT_QSSHH(withholding tax base amount in local currency) cannot be updated.
    (1) The LSMW structure is defined as bellow:

    How can I change the field WT_QSSHH into editable and update this field in LSMW RFBIBL00.

    I tried posting an invoice in currency other then co. code currency, but the WT amount is getting calculated perfectly.
    also checked vendor with foreign curr recon account. the WT is working for that also
    Can you please share the screen shot of the transaction where after changing currency you are not getting the values picked up for WT

  • F110: how to pay an invoice with Withholding Tax and a credit memo?

    Hi All,
    in my SAP I've defined a Withholding Tax type for Payment Posting.
    I've posted a vendor invoice with with Withholding Tax.
    Later I've posted a credit memo with Withholding Tax which must compensate the prevuois invoice.
    When I launch t.code F110, SAP, in the right manner,  proposes to pay the invoice less the amount of the credit memo. 
    But the calculation of the Withholding Tax (that it should post al the payment time) is wrong: SAP proposes to post the amount of the Withholding Tax recorded in the table WITH_ITEM at the moment of the posting of the invoice. Instead, from it, SAP should detract the amount of the Withholding Tax recorded in the table WITH_ITEM at the moment of the posting of the credit memo.
    Why does SAP doesn't consider the amount of the Withholding Tax of the credit memo?
    Could anyone help me?

    Dear Rossi,
    if You defined the WT TYPE at the payment time this means that the WT amount will be calculated at posted during the F110 run as per the invoice as per the credit memo.
    If they are the same amounts and refer to the same wt type and code, when You run F110, they should match even for the WT calculation. It is clear that if You inserted manually the WT base amount or the WT amount into the invoice, the system will not do any automatic calculation but it will use these amounts that can be different from the one auto matically calculated by the system for the credit memo.

  • Withholding tax base amount is wrong for sales invoice

    Dear Gurus,
    we had generated invoice for cop (colombia paiso) 1377350 as follows
    sales a/c cr         1080000
    sales a/c cr             90000
    sales a/c cr           114400
    sales a/c cr            92950
    vat     a/c cr            33176
    w/h   a/c dr            36911(withholding tax account)
    customer a/c dr  1373615
    The wiholding tax rate is 3.5%. it is applicble only for first line for cop 1080000. we had applied withholding condition to that line only. The vat amount cop 33176 is 16% on cop(92950+114400). There is no withholding tax or vat on line for cop 90000. when we post the invoice, the withholdng tax base amount change from 1080000 to 1054598 and system post the wihholdng tax for cop 36911 instead of 37800. In sales invoice there is no possibility to change the base amount mannually in condition. it is grey area.
    we had check the configuration part about maxmimum amount,minimum amount,withholding tax base amount,calculation procedure.withholding tax type,withholding tax code. Nothing is found wrong.

    Cheque Go to Menubar of  which document you have to  post for getting the WHT value  Menubar Settings - editing options -  remove the tick calculate tax on net amount.

  • Withholding tax base amount problem

    Hi experts,
    I have WT configured like this:
    Base amount: Gross
    No accumulation
    Minimum/maximum: Type level (both)
    Central inv. prop. + Check min. base amnt at pmnt doc level
    In minimum/maximum per Withholding tax type: Minimum base amount "$500"
    The problem occurs when i try to pay an $250 invoice , the system calculates withholding tax for this case but it shouldnu2019t (because the invoice amount is less than $500).  This vendor has only one invoice to pay.
    The weird thing is this problem happen only for a few vendors, i´ve created a  test vendor, exact the same as the "problem vendor" and for the new one, the system is not calculating the withholding tax (its working fine)... I donu2019t know what else should i see...

    My problem is when i try to pay an invoice smaller than the minimum base amount, the system calculates the WHT. This problem is only with a few vendors, but others, with same master data are working fine. I never did changes in those vendor master data, so the program its no necesary in this case.

  • With holding tax base amount not picked correctly.

    While calculating WHT  we have 2 problems.
    1) The wht base amount is updated 4 times in all tax type i.e Basic ,Surcharge, cess and se-cess. (upto Sep 09 postings)
    Example My vendor inv for Rs.540279 i have to deduct 2.266% WHT
    Display withholding tax information screen is updated with following setup
    W/Type  W/base     W/tax
    1            552806      11056      Basic
    2            552806        1106      Sc
    3            552806          243      Cs
    4            552806          122      SEcs
    2) In vendor line item layout we include WHT/base amt- wht tax amt column.  Some cases W/base & W/tax it is displayed.  But in few cases it is not displayed. How to display this in all cases.
    Please guid me how to change this display to show the correct W/base amount. What settings i need to maintain in Img.

    Please Check the  in vendor master records wether you have ticked the  Liable check box or not for invoice at the same time you have to uncheck Liable for payment
    Defore that you ahve to create
    1. Define Min/Max Amounts for Withholding Tax Types for invoice
    2. Define Min/Max Amounts for Withholding Tax Codes for invoice
    after that you have to enter in the vendor master like
    Enter Withholding Tax Types
    Enter Withholding Tax code and Select liable for inovice
    Enter Type of recipient

  • BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST for debtor with withholding tax

    Hello,
    I'm using the BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST to generate debtor invoices applying withholding tax.
    In order to obtain the withholding tax information, I'm using structure ACCOUNTWT, but when the document FI is generated, it has not line item for withholding tax, and table WITH_ITEM has no values for basis amount and withholding tax import, though the withholding indicator is there.
    With help of a colleague from basis team, I've been debugging the process and all the parameters seem to be OK. So I guess there's something missing that is doing table WITH_ITEM is being informed incorrectly.
    Another point is that I'm not sure if it's necesary to inform component SECTIONCODE (Withholding tax section) in structure BAPIACAR09 (Debtor position), and in this case, which value it expects to be passed.
    Could you, please, help me with this issue? Any idea will be welcome.

  • Issues with Withholding tax on advance paid

    Dear Experts
    Our client deducts TDS on the Advance amount paid and on posting of Invoices from the Vendors. The documents are posted with withholding Tax types configured for this purpose in F-48 and FB60 respectively. Document splitting has been activated in the system with all required configuration.
    The problem arises when we try to clear the advance amount against the Invoice along with the balance payment in F-53 if the invoice has more than one expense line posted to different Cost Centers in FB60. The system gives an error message " Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 004 not filled ". Please follow the example given below for better understanding.
    Advance posting:
    vendor a/c....dr (Profit center 3)
    To bank Clearing (Profit center 3)
    To TDS on payment
    Invoice:
    Expense ....dr (Cost Center1 / profit Center 1)
    Expense ....dr (Cost Center 2 / Profit Center 2)
    To vendor a/c
    To TDS on Invoice
    Up to here the document splitting works fine with Profit Centers and segments getting displayed in all line items in GL view. The issue comes when we select both the documents in F-53 and try to pay out the balance amount.
    Please note the issue does not crop up if we do not populate the withholding tax code while posting the advance entry. The system automatically posts to the relevant profit centers and segments in F-53. But this is not the business scenario.
    It would be really helpful if somebody can throw some light on the above issue.

  • Extended Withholding Tax - Minimum Amount

    Dear SAP Expert,
    In our setup we have extended withholding tax incoming payment for outgoing invoices.
    The scenario is if invoice base amount is less than 300 EGP (local curreny) then withholding tax information should not capture invoice document.
    I setup minimum based amount on withholding tax type and withholding tax codes level but still when user post outgoing invoices WHT information is captured in FI document.
    Because of above issue automatic clearing (F.13) is not happening and we are getting error message like "Items with withholding tax code for customer subject to withholding tax"
    looking for expert assistance.

  • How to clear line items with withholding tax manually

    hi Experts,
    i posted a vendor invoice with withholding tax and i made payment as well but not through f-58.
    now i wanted to clear these two through f-44 but it gives the message withholding tax information ignored and didnt display the invoice as open item.
    how do i clear both the trasactions

    i have a second opinion on your statement that no matter whatever tcode you use for payment it will clear the open item. Even in F-58, if u make partial payment it will not clear you open item. But i didnt use f-58 as i said earlier.
    i used FBV1 for parking the document through which i entered the payment details...ofcourse it doesnt have the option for clearing the open items, cheque printing and it will not update your cheque register. i posted the parked document through FBV0. for all practical purposes, this is my payment document but it didnt clear my open item, in order to clear it i now used f-44.

  • Withholding tax line amount exceeds message no.7Q320

    Dear all,
    Withholding tax type we are defined as a accumulated type. untill and unless it exceeds the minimum amount system will not calculate the withholding tax once it crosses the minimum amount system will calculate tds from one rupee on words. but now at the time of posting advance payment to vendor the system generates a error namely withholding tax line amount exceeds.
    As per my knowledge i convert the error message into warning even i know this not the good practice but according to situation what i did is correct. at the making those changes the system asks the request (workbench). i save under one new request when i transported to another client the system is generating warnings.
    when i transport the same from develpoment to quality the system generating error. i come to know this is through request status.
    What is the solution for this

    spro->img->Fin acct-> Fin acct Global settings->withholding tax->extended withholding tax->calculation->withholding tax types->defien withholding tax type for payment posting
    give ur country key
    double click on your W.T type
    under central invoice option----you have to select radio button for central invoice & 1st p. pmt
    this might solve porblem

  • With holding tax base amount for 1099 vendors with discounted payment term

    Hi Friends,
    We have a below situation for 1099 vendors,
    Some of the 1099 vendors are set-up in the system with payment term with discounts i.e. 2% if paid within 10 days
    As per config, system posts with holding tax base amount at the time of posting payment.
    With holding tax rate is 0%,
    Based on modified net amount calculation
    and
    Cash discount calculation before w/tax calculation
    When we have vendor with input tax, system excludes tax amount at the time of payment but for the with holding tax base calculation amount system does not exclude input tax type.
    Which causes difference in 1099 – misc vendors
    Below is the example of how system calculates the amount.
    Invoice $ 1000, payment term 2% if paid within 10 days. Input tax 7.25%
    Payment going out=
    $1000- $ 72.5(tax 7.25%) = $ 927.5 – 18.55 [2% discount] = $ 908.95 (payment amount)
    With holding base calculation =
    $ 1000 – 100 (2% discount) = $ 900
    Difference between payment going out and with holding tax base = 908.98 – 900 = 8.98
    Can some one please tell me how to get rid off this difference?
    Moreover, please tell me if it’s normal to have 1099 vendors with discounted payment term.
    Any thoughts on above situation will be helpful

    Net invoice Value   = $ 100,000
    Input Tax @ 15%   = $  15,000
    Total Invoice Value = $ 115,000
    Cash Discount = 20% with in 20 days
    On payment the system behavior should be
    Debit  Vendor invoice Value   = $ 115,000
    Debit  Cash Discount @ 20%    = $   20,000   ( 20% of the Net Invoice Value that is 20% of $ 100,000)
    Credit  W/H Tax deduction @ 3.5% = $ 3,325  ( 3.5% of 95,000 the Inv Value - Cash Discount that is $ 115,000 - $20,000)
    Credit Bank Account  = $ 91,675 ( Inv value - Cash Dic - W/H tax that is $ 115,000 - 20,000 - 3325 = 91,675)
    However at the time of payment system is calculating tax as follows
    Debit  Vendor invoice Value   = $ 115,000
    Debit  Cash Discount @ 20%    = $   20,000   ( 20% of the Net Invoice Value that is 20% of $ 100,000)
    Credit  W/H Tax deduction @ 3.5% = $ 3,220  ( 3.5% of 92,000 the Inv Value - Cash Discount that is $ 115,000 - $23,000. This $ 23,000 is only calculated for W/H tax calculation that is 20% of $ 115,000 )
    Credit Bank Account  = $ 91,780 ( Inv value - Cash Dis - W/H tax that is $ 115,000 - 20,000 - 3220 = 91,780)
    this is not the common practice when using the net base value in the system.
    Can any one help me in this regard. I really have been stucked in this problem for many days
