Cannot drop table (error ORA-00054)

I am trying to drop a table but get an "ORA-00054 Resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified". Previously I had created this table and run a join which I cancelled because it was taking too long and obviously not doing what I wanted. Now I can't get rid of the table, even with sysdba privileges and re-starting the machine running the database.
Can anyone help?

It looks like your table got locked. Do you see any locks in your database on this table? I also, suggest you to close or kill the session which was cancled due to long running join condition, as you said in your question.

ORA-20123 is a localized/customized error code & message; therefore any solution depends upon what is unique inside your DB now.
I suspect that some sort of TRIGGER exists, which throws posted error, but this is just idle speculation on my part.

Errors: ORA-00054 & ORA-01452 while running DAC Full Load

Previously, I ran full load...it went well. And, I did some sample reports also in BI APPS 7.9.6.2
Now, I modified few parameters as per the Business and I try to run Full Load again...But I struck with few similar errors. I cleared couple of DB Errors.
Please, help me out to solve the below errors.

--I checked W_SALES_BOOKING_LINE_F, it contain s data.
Just restart the load, It seems like your DB processes are busy and the table still has a lock on it which means something is not yet Commited/Rolled Back.
If this issue repeats you can mail your DBA and ask him to look in to the issue

please execute this sql and get the duplicate values. If the count is less you can delete the records based on ROW_WID
How many duplicates do you have in total?

Can't drop text index (ORA-00054: resource busy) - causes?

Thanks, you were right! It works now, but I have another issue. I only added about 75 MB of PDFs (20 files) into my table, and indexed it. Indexing took about 4 minutes. But now, whenever I try to drop the index, I get this error:
ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified
I tried waiting an hour, and it still gives me the error - it really shouldn't be doing anything. Would a memory or storage space issue cause this? I'd appreciate any help you could give. Thanks.

Solution Description
해당 error 는 per_all_people_f table 의 global_name 이 null 이기 때문에 발생하는 error 로 가장 간단하게는 아래와 같이 처리 하면 된다.
update per_all_people_f
set global_name = full_name
where global_name is null;
commit;
위의 작업 후 다시 Synchronize WF LOCAL tables process 를 수행 한다.
해당 issue 에 대한 원인은 note. 397219.1 - Why Are There NULL Values For global_name In 를 참조 하도록 한다.

drop table BP;
ORA-02449: unique/primary keys in table referenced by foreign keys
ALTER TABLE BP DISABLE CONSTRAINT BP_PK;
ORA-02297: cannot disable constraint (BP_PK) - dependencies exist
I tried disable all constraints with:

but when I try drop table BP;

also truncate table BP:

How can I drop table BP and disable all referenced by enabled foreign keys on table BP?

Or you could disable the foreign key constraint refering to primary key on the table and then drop the PK and then drop the table

I'm following the CBT Nuggets SQL Fundementals training (video #11) and cannot drop a table I have just created. The command executed and error are:
drop table newprods;
Error starting at line : 1 in command -

As the HR user I created two tables and created a FK constraint between them. After truncating the table with this FK, I am unable to drop it. Even if I remove the FK, the error is the same. Issing the command in SQL*Plus gives the same error.
This is the first time I have created any tables since installing Oracle on this machine and is my first attempt at dropping a table. I have not created any sequences, triggers or views based on these newly created tables.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Dbms_sql in a different schema from query table-error ** ORA-00942

I think I am having problems with using DBMS_SQL in which the function was created in one schema and the query table was created in a different schema.
We have 2 schemas: S1, S2
We have 2 tables:
T1 in Schema S1
T2 in Schema S2
We have a function F1 created by DBA in schema S1 that uses the dbms_sql as:

I am using jdeveloper 11G. We have an Oracle DB 11g.
We have a java program which uses jdbc to talk to our Oracle DB.
Basically, in my java program, I call function F1 to check if the query is valid.
If it is, it returns 0. Otherwise, returns 1:

Since the table that I run the query is T2, created in different schema than F1 was created in, I have the error:
** ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
So my questions are these:
- I am using Oracle DB 11g, if I run the query on a table that created in a different schema from the one that the function (which uses dbms_sql) was created in, I would get the error ORA-00942?
- If I runs the query on table T1 in the same schema as the function F1, would I have the same problem(The reason I ask is I cannot create any table in schema S1 because the DBA has to do it; I am not a DBA)
- This is not a problem, but a security feature because of SQL injection?
- How to resolve this issue other than creating the table in the same schema as the function that utilizes DBMS_SQL?

Definer rights (default) stored objects run under owner's security domain and ignore role based privileges. So regardless what user you are logged in as, function S1.F1 always executes as user S1 and ignores user S1 roles. Therefore exeuting statement within S1.F1:
Select * from S2.T2requires user S1 to have SELECT privilege on S2.T2 granted to S1 directly, not via role.

Cannot Drop Table that Shows in dba_tables

In my IDE I see two tables that I no longer need. I created them as a test to see the difference between LOGGING vs NOLOGGING. Now I want to drop the tables.
I issue the command drop table customers_no_logging.
The system responds with ORA-00942: table or view does not exist.
However, select table_name from dba_tables returns the table names in question.
Even in sqlplus I get the same result:
SQL> select table_name from dba_tables where owner = 'RUB';
TABLE_NAME
CUSTOMERS
INV_ITEM_MASTER
INV_SITE
CUSTOMERS_w_log
CUSTOMERS_no_log
5 rows selected.
SQL> drop table CUSTOMERS_no_log;
drop table CUSTOMERS_no_log
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
How can I drop these tables?

I was connected as RUB in my IDE and SYS in SQLPlus.
I have connected as RUB in SQLPlus and tried
SQL> drop table "RUB.CUSTOMERS_no_log";
drop table "RUB.CUSTOMERS_no_log"
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
Maybe I need to stop and restart the DB?

Cannot Drop table with lower case name

Hi,
One of my developer created a table through application in oracle 10g R2,
when I list tables
select * from tab;
the table name is shown in lower case or Initcap.
I cannot drop or manipulate that table.
How can I drop that table(s)?

use the same case what your table has used and put double quotes on both sides for example if your table is lower case use like:
DROP TABLE "your_table";HTH

Error in drop user Error:ORA-00942

While I want to drop some Oracle users, the following error exists:
SQL> drop user simon cascade;

I droped all object from scheme but one package I can't drop.
Now when I try drop this package or user,
I get ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [psdtyfnd_with_suffix], [], [], [], [], [], [], []

u may not be able to re-create the package as u have already dropped some of the dependent packages which it calles internally..I cannot guess anything else...

Cant Drop User (Error Ora-24005)

I have a problem in my Schema. Can any one help me out, i need to drop schema. But when i use drop user tt cascade; i get the Error saying Ora-24005 Must use DBMS_AQADM.DROP_QUEUE_TABLE.

First check whether the table is in system tablespace or not.. if it is enabling row movement would not help...
then if it is not then go for
alter table emp enable row movement
flashback table emp to scn 688268;

Insert into table error - ora-01722 invalid number

Need some assistance with inserting data into a table. The date column keeps on failing to insert.

Dropping Table: ORA-00054

When going to drop a table in a particular schema, I receive the following error:
ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified.
My command:
drop table schema1.table1;
I've tried the above drop command several times. No matter what, I keep on getting the same error. How can I successfully drop this table? I also tried logging out & back into my toad session.

Looks like you were having quite some trouble with your toad connections. This one and the other insert problem.
