Cannot find quicktime.msi

When trying to upgrade quicktime I get the error - Cannot find quicktime.msi - and I'm prompted to enter a path to find it. I have done a search of my computer, locating 4 copies of this file, none of which worked.
Quick time no longer works and I can't upgrade or re-install. What do I do?

  • HT1926 my itunes will not update due to an error message saying cannot find itunes.msi

I need help to resolve the fact that my computer will not update. It gives me a message about 95% way through the update that it cannot find itunes.msi and I also went to just uninstall the program completely off my computer and it gives me the same message. Help please!

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • TS5376 how to get itunes to download if it cannot find itunes64.msi

I am trying to download the latest version of itunes on my computer.  It will not do the upgrade. itunes support says try uninstalling itunes and everything that has to go with it and it will not let me delete it.  A message comes up saying the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable and cannot find itunes64.msi.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Premier Element 9 cannot find quicktime components

I have this problem that has really been bugging me. I purchased Premier Element 9 so I could edit hd .mov files and export to .mov.
I have installed the software and have made successful movie edits and exported to .avi files. However, if I want to export to .mov I do not ahve the option. It just says:  "cannot find quicktime componants" :-( I have the latest quicktime installed and I even have the pro version and quicktime works jsut fine and it's definitely the latest version. Just did an update this morning.
How can I get premier elements fir find the quicktime componants that are already isntalled in my computer?
My computer OS is  Windows XP.
I can edit my .mov movies just fine but at present I am stuck with exporting to avi such as I have on this page here:
    http://www.spaghettisauceandmeatballs.com/spaghetti_sauce_and_meatballs_videos.html
I'm happy with these but really would like to use the .mov export and maintain my HD quality.
    Thanks for the help.   Tony

    Hunt,
Sorry for being wordy on this but will try to explain my progress or lack thereof.
First, if you launch the premiere elements 9 downloaded.exe file you do not get an option to repair, only "The InstallShield Wizard will allow you to remove adobe Premiere Elements 9."
I went through MANY different scenarios/possible fixes last night, spent a LOT of time on this; too much really.
One thing I noticed was a file association issue with .mov files. So thinking that the .mov file association might be a conflict with the premiere elements .mov export I did the followoing:
I had the .mov files associated with the VLC player (VideoLAN), because that player is 10 X faster and plays everything! Great player! I tried to re-associate .mov file with quuicktime but the icon would not change, however file association was successful, i.e., you double click on a .mov file and quicktime plays the movie. So to make sure I had the quicktime icon associated correctly, I to un-installed the VLC Media Player.
After uninstalling the VLC Player, the windows media player icon showed up in explorer associated with .mov files even though the .mov files are associated with quicktime. Then, even though when you look at the files in explorer and see the windows media player icon for the .mov files, if you double click the .mov file quicktime plays the movie. I did complete reboots after uninstalls as well.
So then I did a repair on Quicktime and the quicken icon association was corrected. I was excited thinking this would do the trick but no such luck. Still no .mov export option. Grrr….
So then I uninstalled and reinstalled quicktime just to see if I needed to install quicktime after the install of premiere elements. But after re-install of quicktime, premiere elements still did not have the .mov export.
Then I started noticing in the upper right of welcome window or premiere that I could see the files that were loading during the launching of premier. Now I know the culprit!
Seems to hang up on ....loading "exportquicktimehost.prm" - then get the error message:  “dynamiclinkmanager has encountered a problem and needs to close.", then I click on don't send and I get the error one more time then click on "don't send" again and then premier opens and everything works fine but it just can't export to .mov WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART AND WHY I BOUGHT THE SOFTWARE. UGH! I was getting the “dynamiclinkmanager has encountered a problem and needs to close." Before but I thought that was connected to the organizer and was ignoring it and was not making a connection of that with the .mov export.
You know what’s funny? I researched “dynamiclinkmanager” trying to find out what it is and there are many sites that say it’s a virus and tell you how to remove it but it’s a file create by adobe systems but many see it as a virus. Funny!
So I uninstalled premiere completely and reinstalled, still same problem.
PREMIERE ELEMENTS 9 HANGS UP WHEN TRYING TO LOAD EXPORTQUICKTIMEHOST.PRM.
This is definitely the problem, the program runs smoothly during launch and you can see all the files loading away then it gets to this annoying "exportquicktimehost.prm" file and you can see it hang up on this for a while and then you get the pop up error:  "dynamiclinkmanager has encountered a problem and needs to close". Then if you cancle out the error the program runs and all works fine except for the .mov export.
So I did a bunch of searching on this error; seems to be a firewall issue in many cases. Many different adobe products seem to have this problem, not just premiere elements.
My firewall was already turned off. I checked around just to make sure other third party blockers were not the problem.  I have Netnanny and webroot spyweeper/antivirus running at all time. I turned these off completely and launched premier elements again but still same problem.
I am at a lost and frustrated.  I find myself seriously going through this list of alternative mov video editors
http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ and giving up on premiere completely:
So, any ideas on the "exportquicktimehost.prm" / "dynamiclinkmanager has encountered a problem and needs to close"  errors/conflicts?
I guess it’s not time for the wine yet :-(
    Thanks,  Tony

  • Cannot find Acro3d.msi on Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4.4

    An irritating error that occasionally
occurs during updates or installation of plugins (like support for simple Chinese character set) often results in an error "Cannot find network resource"
Running v 9.4.4 on Windows 7, Acrobat is installed as part of the TCS 2.0 program suite.
By browsing, the file that is missing is Acro3D.msi. It does not exist under
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Technical Communication Suite 2\Adobe Acrobat\Setup Files\{AC76BA86-1033-F400-7761-000000000004}
nor does it exist in the Data1.cab file (although I see an acro3dcapt.exe file...)
Where can I get this file, there are lots of torrent downloads but is there a download from Adobe?
    Brs
    David

You can not do that using Adobe Acrobat 9. Adobe never made a create PDF add-on for Firefox for use with Adobe Acrobat 9. They created a Firefox add-on for use with Acrobat X, but currently that one does not work with Firefox 4 though Adobe are working on an update.

    Hi, kdub5.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you can not update iTunes due to a .msi error.  I would recommend uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components as outlined in the first article below.  For any component that gives you the .msi error, go through the steps in the second article below.
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • Can't install or uninstall iTunes because cannot find iTunes.msi

Everytime I try to install or uninstall iTunes it won't let me do it...even though I have downloaded it, it keeps telling me "Cannot locate iTunes.Msi"
    Any ideas?

I was able to solve my problem by following all the directions at the following Apple site - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926?viewlocale=en_US
I was not able to remove the iTunes program using Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel; however, that didn't seem to matter. I removed the directories and used the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. I reinstalled iTunes Ver 8.1.1.10 with no problems. I'm sticking with this version for the time being.

I have iTunes 11.1.3.8 and when I try update iTunes it is looking for iTunes.msi and can't find the file. I have searched around is there something I can do to fix this without reloading windows. I am also concerned about  loosing any information if I install on a new load of windows. How can I ensure I don't wipe a device. The iPods used to get wiped when connected to a new computer. Do the iPads and iPhones get wiped when connected to a new computer.i have iPad 4 iPad Air and iPhone thanks for any help

    Hello, KokoMerlin.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would recommend doing a complete uninstall and new install of iTunes as outlined in the steps below.  Uninstalling iTunes on your computer will not alter your iTunes library.
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
Since you are receiving an error that a .msi file can not be located, you will need to process the steps in the article below for any component that gives you this error during the uninstall process.
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" alert appears when you remove Apple software in Windows

  • Lightroom 5.3 will not install, error message saying it cannot find x64.msi

I am not a cloud cc member, just cs6, downloaded lightroom from the lightroom page, it is not listed in my cloud application
I get the following error message. The feature that you are trying to install is on a network resource that is unavailable. Check ok or try an alternative pathway to a folder containing the installation package, Adobe-Lightroom-64.msi.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

I get this to when trying to install from CC or standalone, thing is i have cleaned my C:\ drive since all apps tend to install crap there, it is
a 115 gig ssd and i am down to 11 gig free, i removed a lot of stuff including some uninstall info that eats a lot of space.
But where does the installer find the information? i have searched and deleted every mention of lightroom in the registry, god that was a lot,
Still the old version is deleted from the disk with extreme prejudice is there no switch that makes it ignore any old versions and install anyway?

  • Cannot find "AppleSofwareUpdate.msi"

In trying to update my iPhone, I was told I had to update iTunes.  Download update, go to install, get an error, "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the instillation package 'AppleSofwareUpdate.msi' in the box below"
I cannot locate this on my computer.  In desperation, I uninstalled itunes, no luck.  I have gone through the control panel and used the add/remove programs tool, but I cannot uninstall apple software update for the same reason.
I have found a link to the windows installer cleanup utility, but the link no longer goes to the right place (now has a utility to unistnall MS office).
    Please help me out.

What a pain, i finally fix this on my computer.
