Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are trying to install  your HP Deskjet 959c to your computer running the Windows 8.1 Operating system. After some research, I was able to find that there are no software and drivers for the 8.1 OS, this is why you are running into problems.
The last installation document was for Windows 8, and that was installing the printer using the Windows updates. To get a better understanding take a look at the link below:

Now I am not sure that these steps will work with 8.1 as it is an older model printer, but you could try it. My next recommendation is to contact our technical support at 800-474-6836 to see what compatible printers they may have available for you.     This imples that your computer does not see any device, not just the iPod when it is connected ot a USB port.  This points to a major problem with Windows or a hardware problem. Use the WIndow's troubleshooting to get the USB ports to work.

    I just purchased ExportPDF and I cannot get the website to load on my computer to sign in.  I tried to export a PDF to convert from the program on my computer and get the "An error occurred while signing in" message.  The tab for the website is the only Adobe page I cannot load.

    Thank you so much for the help.  I had to enter my complete email address using me.com added to my sign in name and then after I got to the next page to enter the settings, I changed the address to not include the me.com information.  From there everything went through just fine.  This ended about a week of frustration trying with many folks at the Verizon Store to help me.  I'm so grateful for your help.

    Even if it was compatible, AirPrint does not work through a USB link, only Ethernet or WiFi.
    I do not see your HP 4500 listed on Apple's list of AirPrint compatible printers.  <iOS: AirPrint 101>  Therefore you need to take another approach.  To start, I suggest you download the free HP App, ePrint Home & Biz.  It has limitations, but should get you printing with your existing setup.
    There are other printing Apps with more features such as Print n Share and PrintCentral, but they can only be accessed from within other Apps that have the "Open In" option.
    Your best option may be to share your computer's printer as AirPrint over WiFi.  Programs that are reported to do that well are Printopia and FingerPrint.  Your computer must be on and awake any time you want to print.  <Printopia for Macintosh>  <FingerPrint for PC and Mac>

    I read through the thread you mentioned and it seems that people are having a lot of problems with the iCloud clients, so we're not alone, but the unique issue in my case is the failing email address vs. the working perfectly email address.
    After reading your message tonight, I tried my setup again with the preferred Apple ID (the one without the "." between the names), and for the first time ever, IT WORKS. Mail app configured the servers both send and receive as p01-smtp.mail.me.com and p01-imap.mail.me.com. For the first time, I'm able to send and receive into the Mail app, create mailboxes, move messages into and out of mailboxes, keep Sent messages, etc.
    I had a 50-minute support chat with MobileMe support via ExpressLane on Monday afternoon. They couldn't resolve my issue but passed me on to escalation. I was told to expect to get an email from advanced support by this afternoon, but none has arrived. However, so far tonight -- and I will check again tomorrow several times before declaring victory -- it looks like something has been fixed on the Apple end to make things work.
    I will report back after I do some additional testing tomorrow to make sure the fix is real and is solid...and before I let my friend, the new Mac user, know the good news.

    In trying to set up a migration from PC to Mac I cannot get Migration Assistant to load on the PC (XP).  It keeps saying I have to repair the MA and try again.  I have tried everything I can think of: clear caches, delete and reload MA, shut down virus software and firewall, reboot, etc.  Any ideas or direction would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    put in another cd/dvd and see if it makes the same noise.  if so, your superdrive may be damaged.

  • Cannot Get iTunes Homepage to load

    I am running Windows 7 and the latest version of iTunes. When it tries to load, I only get a blank screen with iTunes Store in the middle. No homepage. I have tried the "fixes" on the website, which is what the support folks referenced me to. I still cannot get iTunes homepage to appear. If anyone has any ideas I am open. I have used iTunes on this computer before.

I can access the itunes store, youtube etc from the apple tv, I can play items on my playlist on the apple tv by switching to apple tv speakers on the bottom of my itunes page. But when it comes to loading my library the wheel just keeps on turning. There does seem to be a connection to my itunes as changes to my library name in itunes is reflected on the apple tv under "Computers"
    I am not sure that this has anything to do with it, but I do not have a "SHARED" library in itunes even though my Home Sharing is switched on, which is verified by the fact that I can see my library name and play music on the apple tv.

    I solved my problem.  It turns out the default in iTunes is NO Sync for books or podcasts.  Once I turned that on I had success.   That wording should be included in the explanation on how to transfer PDF files to the iPad.

  • MAMP + WordPress + xip.io: cannot get linked assets to load

    I managed to get Mamp Pro virtual host domains (example: http://mysite.dev) working with some help from the stackoverflow link above ( http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11546356/xip-io-with-mamp-pro-doesnt-work ), however I still cannot get things to work properly with local WordPress installs.  I get the same old issue of content loading, but linked assets (CSS, JS, images, etc) do not load. When I used to use http://localhost/ urls I got the same issue unless I set each WordPress install to use the machine’s IP address, which was annoying when working from different locations.  Now that I’ve set up virtual hosts and am using .dev domains, which I really like for a variety of reasons, I’m back to square 1, where Edge Inspect becomes useless.

    Hi Gabe, the heart of this issue is caused by a feature of Wordpress, not because of some issue with Edge Inspect. For some reason Wordpress refers refers to all linked assets with a full URL rather than a relative URL, and that causes a variety of problems including the one you're seeing.
    You should be able to work around this. It's not clear to me from your message above where you are in the process, so I'll just try to cover all the steps in a general way. Plus, this may help others trying to do the same thing:
    Your basic first step is that you have to get virtual hosts working in MAMP. That means, if you've setup actualgabe.dev as a virtual host, that without Edge Inspect or xip.io you should be able to type in (for example) http://actualgabe.dev/index.html into your browser and view a simple web page running on your machine.
    You've got to get Wordpress working with that virtual domain you've got set up. That means that all of the assets that Wordpress is referring to with a full URL should properly reference back to your machine and be viewable in your browser. Since Wordpress may refer to those assets with a localhost URL, you'll have to inspect the page to ensure that Wordpress is actually referencing the assets with your actualgabe.dev virtual host definition.
    Now make sure that MAMP, Wordpress, and xip.io all function correctly together without Edge Inspect involved. Assuming that you've got the actualgabe.dev virtual host configured as in steps one and two, then go ahead and take one of your devices and type in a URL of http://actualgabe.dev.<YOUR_MACHINE_IP_ADDRESS>.xip.io/index.html. So if the IP address of the computer you're hosting the site from is 10.0.0.1, you'd enter http://actualgabe.dev.10.0.0.1.xip.io/index.html. You should be able to see your local Wordpress site from your computer with all of it's associated local assets.
    Once you have those previous 3 steps working and fully tested, you should be able to start Edge Inspect, connect your devices up, and use that same URL from step 3 (e.g. http://actualgabe.dev.10.0.0.1.xip.io/index.html) in Chrome and see your Wordpress page and all of its assets.

    Unfortunately Target has not yet been updated to include Passbook integration.  Once they do (and the App is linked to Passbook) I imagine that is when you will see the Loyalty cards show up or any coupons etc appearing in there.
    The full list of Apps that work with Passbook are:
    As of Wednesday afternoon, the full list of highlighted Passbook applications on the App Store includes:
    Fandango Movies — Times & Tickets
    Live Nation
    Lufthansa
    MLB.com At Bat
    Sephora to Go
    Ticketmaster
    Walgreens
    That means only these 7 apps currently are working with Passbook integration.  Within the Live Nation App, in the settings or account, there should be an option to link with Passbook.  If you don't see it, either you haven't updated it yet, or you have no tickets purchased for upcoming events that would show up in there.

Maybe you are looking for
