Cannot get software to load on Brother all-in-one

I am trying to wirelessly set up a Brother MFCJ4510DW all in one printer to my new iMac 27 OS mountain lion. All goes well till it is time to down load the software and a message comes up that it is not supported by my OS. Both are the latest and greatest. What gives?

Cannot get software RAID-1 going on root (/) on Sun V240's

I for the life of me cannot get software RAID-1 going on the root file-system. I've followed the instructions in Solaris Volume Manager Admin. Guide and I think I'm doing it right. This is in a Sun V240 with two 137GB drives.
I basically do the following:

You created to many metadatabases..
I'm not kidding, you did. You created 8 which i suspect trigged a bug which currently exists in Solaris 9 / Solaris 10.
This bug occours on the following disks: MAT3073N, MAT3147N, MAT3300N and ST373207LC, if you have any of those disks in your system (can be determined with iostat -En) you must use less than 8 replicas.
Check out bugreport 6244431, if you got a sunsolve login linked to a contract number.
You could try and boot up the system from a cdrom or similar and add "md_devid_destroy=1;" to the /kernel/drv/md.conf file above the 'Begin MDD database info' line.
hopefully your system will come up after this, if it does the best workaround is to remove a few replicas, the above line from md.conf and reboot.

Cannot get itunes to load on new computer. Widows 7 any ideas???

I have ane wcomputer running Win 7. I cannot get itunes to load. i authorized the unit and all i get is a prompt to repair or delete itunes. When i hit repair it then promps me to delete itunes and that is the only choice I have. any ideas?????

You can only have 5 computers authorised at the same time. If you won't be using the old computer you should deauthorise it.
Don't try to transfer your library via home sharing, simply copy the entire iTunes folder (and all subfolders) across the network or via an external drive. If the media folder is not a subfolder of the main iTunes folder that holds the database files (or you have any media in other locations) then these folders need to end up at precisely the same paths on the new computer as they had on the old one, otherwise as long as the media folder remains a subfolder of the iTunes folder all should be well.

If that's not a real email, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

I was having major problems too. I ended up completely uninstalling itunes then downloaded it again from http://www.apple.com/itunes/. If you're using firefox, for some reason itunes will not download and I don't know if using googlechrome will also have problems,so just to be sure that it will work on your first try, use internet explorer when you download itunes. Hope this helps...

Cannot get java window to run at all.

I'm using 1.4.2, and cannot get any java to run at all. It's on a Windows 2000 server, and I've rebooted it a few times. Can't even get the Java Applet window to open from the control panel. javaw.exe runs in the task manager, but that's it. Any ideas? Anything else I need?

That's the Java Control Panel you can't open.
Try uninstalling ALL Java versions, rebooting after each uninstall, and manually removing any directories that Java made after all are removed. Reboot again, then download a new offline Java installer file and install that. There's something in the machine that's bad.

I cannot get iWeb to load on either computer, one running 10.5 and the other 10.6

I need to make an independent web page for my DAR chapter and upload it through them. I cannot get iWeb to load. It will open and then freezes. I've tried it n both the iMac and the iBook with the same results. What am I doing wrong?

Try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
launch iWeb and try again.

unfortunately i'm not familiar with bitdefender - there's a general instruction on how to deal with slow internet speed at http://www.bitdefender.com/support/my-internet-is-slow-1100.html - though i'm not sure if this also applies to your situation. otherwise you can also contact the bitdefender support for assistance on how to properly configure their program so that firefox won't get blocked. there's also a chat option on their support page...

I cannot get facebook to load on my Macbook pro

For the last 4 days, I cannot get facebook to load on my Macbook Pro. The only problem I can see is that I cleared the cookies and cleared the browsing history around the same time. I can see the Zynga cookies are still in place but the games won't load once I can actually get facebook to load. Sometimes other websites won't load either. I am at a loss.
So, does anyone have an idea on how to get Safari to actually work so that I can get back on facebook?

Image Capture and Brother all in one printer...help!

I have a Brother all-in-one printer MFC-420CN. I just upgraded from a PC to a Mac. Almost everything works perfectly...I can print (wirelessly or not), send faxes, and scan using Brother's own Control Center utility. However, I wanted to use the printer also with Image Capture. I downloaded the scanner driver from the Brother site, however when I start image capture I get the message "No Image Capture device connected". If I go to Devices => Browse Devices, I can actually see the printer driver shown as TWAIN Data Sources/Brother Twain, however it doesn't show as being connected. If I click on the "Use Twain UI" button, it brings up a Brother Twain window, but if I click Scan nothing happens. Does anyone know why the mac can see the driver but thinks it's disconnected? Also, under "kind" there's a swirly icon, but I don't know what it means (sorry, Apple newbie).

Interestingly here is what I received from Brother. (Note that scanning using the Control Center works fine.):

Is your machine able to scan using the Brother ControlCenter software?
If you are able to scan with the ControlCenter, the drivers are
installed and working properly.
Your issue is with Apple's Image Capture software and should be referred
to them for support.
When you open the Apple software, you will need to click DEVICES in the
Menu Bar, then select the disclosure triangle next to TWAIN devices to
reveal the Brother TWAIN device.
Select the Brother TWAIN and click OK.
You should now be able to scan with Apple's Image Capture application.
For any additional assistance with the Apple application, we suggest you
contact Apple for assistance.

So, who owns the problem: Brother or Apple? If I go to the Apple Store I see Canon and HP scannners for sale but not Brother. Maybe that is part of the problem. Corporate relations between Brother and Apple.

I cannot get Facebook to load. All other sites work fine. It will load if I disable all add-ons, but I have been unsucesssful determining which add-on is causing the problem.

I can get FB to load without problems in other browsers.

This hardly ever fixes any thing, but it is the easiest thing to try. Go the start menu >> All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> System Restore. Old ibook with OS 9 -- cannot get pages to load

The computer has been in a drawer for 5 yrs and I want to use it just to view the web and almost nothing else. Web pages connect, then nothin loads, so I cannot get updates.
Should I reformat, if so how. Is it worth it all to try to get the machine working?

Ok, I was able to download icab to another computer and email it to an AOL address as the ibook has a working AOL email function. So I have a working browser and I downloaded an update to OS 9, but the computer is so frightfully slow to operate and web pages have so many more features now that it is choking.
I would need to get an airport card to use it wirelessly and I am still wondering if any of this would be worth it.
Weigh in with any thoughts (anyone) and thank you for the help on the browser.

Cannot get firefox to load onto my computer

for 2 days I have been trying to download Mozilla Firefox 30 to my laptop, Vista XP os and it will not take. I have tried everything from making sure all drivers are up to date to different versions of the program and nothing works. When I do attempt to download, sometimes I get a messge of "thank you for downloading Mozilla Firefox" but there is no sign of it on my laptop, why?
What do I have to do to get it to load?

i have been having problems getting Software up dat to work. I have reinstalled the OS which is OS10.5 i Am connected to the internet. and have tried everything that i can think of to get it to work but it keeps coming up with this error msg: Software Update can’t connect to the update server. Make sure you’re connected to the Internet, then try again. Software Update can't check for updates because of a network problem. can anyone solve this problem? its making me crazy. On another issue, i have a magic mouse that used to work perfectly, ever since i reinstalled the OS the scrolling and other finger gestures dont work. I searched all over the place for a soft ware download with the proper Magic Mouse drivers and have come up empty handed. anyone know of a link?
