Cannot get the microphone to work in MSN/Skype

Hi all,?I'm completely stuck on how to get the microphone working with my X-Fi card and MSN/Skype etc. If I uncheck (in playback) the microphone box, I can hear the mic output through the speakers. But no software appears to be able to detect anything from the mic. I'm sure it is just a simple check box I am missing but I cannot for the life of me find it. It was half way up. I moved it all the way to the top but it made no difference.

Just to make sure we talk about an external microphone that you have connected to microphone jack and not internal one? I ask this because the notebook doesnt have internal microphone.
Anyway, if you use an external microphone make sure its listed in sound devices under recording tab. Can you see it there?
I would also recommend a sound driver update if it doesnt work. You can download all updates on official Toshiba page:

if the material don't state there is subtitles in your language it don't include it
and if will only show subtitles if the language you choose in the atv settings so if you have it set to french
and the material only have subtitles in English and not french they will not display

I have a new (from Apple) unlocked iPhone3gs. I cannot get the video recorder to work. When I take video I am not offered any options at the start or the end of filming. The screen freezes when I hit the red stop button. But that's it. I have to hit the home button to get out of that. And none of the v-recordings can be found on my phone anywhere.
Also I'm having trouble with Bluetooth. My Mac says it's paired with the phone, but the phone says not; even though It accepts the pairing code from the Mac. I'm getting very frustrated with these problems. I came on here to find the user manuel, but can only find the fingertip manuel and the product license manuel. Both of which I have in hard copy.
And the most annoying thing is the sound on the calls. I can hardly hear the caller.
Anyone got any helpful advice?

Sync media using iTunes, not Bluetooth.
When the screen freezes on the iPhone, try "resetting".
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Serously doubt this is a "new" iPhone 3GS. More likely refurbished.

A tool has been developed to make this easier (e.g. automating certain functions, standard messages etc) for FF users on PCs & Macs. I have FF mobile on my Android phone but cannot get the moderation tool to install.

Extensions would need to be modified by the extension author to work with Firefox mobile.

HP Photosmart Printer-cannot get the apps to work with a USB hook up

I purchased a HP Photosmart Printer C310 and hooked it up to a USB, not wireless. The apps on the printer will not work, says it has to be on wireless for those features to work. When I purchased it the guy said I could use those apps even if it was on a USB hook up? Any ideas of how to get the apps to work without the wireless?

and that you have restarted your computer since this problem occurred. You should also try disconnecting all USB devices from your computer including hubs (except standard keyboard and mouse if normally used), and connecting the iPod by itself to a direct USB port.
There are no iPod viruses. But data corruption on the iPod's storage is possible.
If doing the above does not help, you may want to do a Restore on the iPod, from the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes. This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings. If data corruption or a software glitch is causing the problem, a Restore should fix it.

I have been using my ipod to access the internet for years. i have been using a netgear router for a while. one day i came home and i could not access the internet. i have signal bars indicating internet. i can go to my router ip address with my ipod and change settings but i cannot get any internet apps to work. my ipod works fine at other places hinting that my router is to blame. all my other wireless devices work in my house so what is causing my ipod to not work. i have unplugged and reset my modem and my router. i have restarted, reset, restored with a backup and finally completely restored my ipod back to the original condition with no luck. there is something i am missing here. p[lease help me

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data, but a reset can cure some glitches.
If this does not work, try to set it up as new device, explained in this article:
How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Don't use the backup afterwards, to rule out a software problem. If the camera is working again, restore from the backup.

Cannot get the wifi to work...

I recently got an ipod touch 32 go, but, whatever I do, I cannot use the internet on it...
In the settings, I manage to connect it to various wifi spots (the small tick appears on the left of the name), but none of the applications work and it says it cannot find the network... I don't know what to do !!!
And when I press the small arrow at the right of the network I'm supposedly connected to (where you can see the IP adress etc), no information appears...
Can someone please help me out ?

I have followed this thread carefully but still cant get my 32g iTouch to connect to my home network! It was working fine when I was abroad but now at home, it is a problem.
I am using a BT Voyager 2500V modem that hardwires to two PC's, it also has wireless capability.
I have set the wireless to the point that the network registers on my iTouch but the screen says that the server can not be found!
The little blue arrow reveals the following info:
IP Address: 169.254.xxx.xxx
Subnet: 255.255.0.0
and thats it, no Router info, no DNS info, no nothing. HTTP Proxy is set to off!
Typing ipconfig and/or looking in the router pages fails to provide any obvious answers, so I would really appreciate some help!!

I have a Touchsmart 9100 PC with a built in webcam, but i cannot get the webcam to work, help?

A light comes on the built in webcam when I for instance, activate a Skype video call, but no picture comes through. I thought this might be a problem with Skype, so i instead tried to just use the webcam like a photobooth however the camera still would not work.
What do you think the problem is? How do I uninstall and reinstall the webcam, might that help? or is this not possible with a built in device?

I have a microphone problem on laptop and also when using my recently purchased Philips SHM3100 Multimedia headset. I have tried to use the Windows Sound Recorder software but my voice is not recognised at all.
I have a Bluetooth Headset configure of which the sound and microphone works perfectly. Has anyone had the same problem, and found a solution?

I did a Sound Hardware Test and test result was:
Microphone test: "Cannot complete the Sound Harware test as your voice was not detected"
Under Voice Recording, "Advanced" is greyed out.
You mentioned:
