Cannot insert disk into Macbook Pro

Though I was able to watch DVD's earlier this morning I tried to put a new disk into the drive and it will not even go halfway in.

Is there a disk in there already?
Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the left mouse button until the disc ejects.
2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
4. Press COMMAND-E.
5. If none of the above work try this:
Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
/usr/bin/drutil eject
If this fails then try this:
Boot the computer into single-user mode by hold down ⌘ -S through the boot process. At the prompt enter
/usr/bin/drutil eject
To restart the computer enter reboot at the prompt or shutdown
6. restart hold down trackpad button

I have a mac Mini and have had it since August last year. The disk drive has been working fine, until today. Cannot remember the last time I used the disk drive, but it couldn't have been more than two months ago. Anyways, the problem that has occured today is that when I try and insert a disk into the drive, it does not except it. The is no usual sound of the motors being activated by sensors to feed the disk into the drive. maybe the sensors are dirty? If so, how can they be cleaned? Have tried to insert the disk as much as I can into the drive until reaching a point where it will no longer physically go into the drive. This reaches half way on a standard size CD/DVD. Have tried many disks and have checked to see if there is any damage to any of these disks before inserting them into the drive. I am also very careful with taking disks out of th drive as soon as I am done with them as I am a bit cautious of these disk drives as it is the first time I have used them since August rather than a tray disk drive. I have also checked Finder to see if there are any disks curently in the drive to which there are none. Under the heading 'DEVICES' are the following:
Machintosh HD (Hard disk, as I am sure you all know)
iDisk (Am not sure what this is and haven't used it before)
Remote Disc (Again, not sure what this is and haven't used it)
BackUPHDD (This is my TimeMachine Hard Drive)
Film Work (This is my film Hard Drive with my work on)
Time (This is just another back up Hard Drive as my Mac Mini gets full quickley)

Sorry for the late reply. Have been out of the country. Have figured an App for the iPod touch/iPhone/iPad and for Macs called 'iTeleport'. Am sure there are many others like this out there but it is amazing and lets one control the mac from their iPod touch/iPhone/iPad. Am still under warranty with about 60 days left apparently. Have been to the genius bar and they think that there is a small square object stuck inside the disk drive. =s Have no idea how that would have got in there. We tried fishing it out with a credit card but no luck. They advised to book the Mac in so that they can fix the problem. It will take 5-7 days but maybe sooner. Am currently moving everything from the Mac onto another HD just in case. Thank you for your responce towards this thread. <3 Apple and everyone on these forums for helping out with our problems. If you have suspicions that there might be a disk inside your MBP, try these options just to make certain. It certainly will not hurt.

Try holding down the trackpad button while starting up the PowerBook. Holding down mouse button during start up ejects the disc in the optical drive, so I'm guessing it would work the same with the button the the trackpad.

Cannot print wirelessly from MacBook Pro OSX Mavericks

I cannot get my new MacBook Pro (using OSX Mavericks) to communicate with my HP Officejet4500 Wireless. I can print when I use a connecting USB cable, but cannot print wirelessly. All of my Mac software updates are current as of 4/20/2014, which included an update for HP printers. When I used the disk to install the printer software, it did not have a screen for entering my wireless router ID or passcode. In the Mac System Preferences for Print and Scan, my Officejet 4500 G510n-z is listed, but to no avail. What do I have to do to get my Mac to print wirelessly? Thanks.

OK, thanks for that. It may indeed may be the problem, but let's check a couple of things first.
1. On the printer: Setup > Network > Print Network Test. Is the printer connected to the network? If it is not:
a. In the Network menu, Restore Defaults
b. In the same Network menu, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the printer to your network.
2. On your Mac, download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
Restart your Mac.
3. Reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Uninstall the other AV software. They are not needed. All they do is cause trouble like you are having now.
If you have been forcing the Mac to shut down with the power switch you may nave corrupted your disk. You should repair it with disk Utilty to remove any corruption the shutdwons may have cased.

Trying to transfer LP into MacBook Pro using ADVC300

Using MacBook Pro OSX10.6.8. Just hooking it up for first time in a few years. Panasonic SA-HT70 Audio-Out into ADVC300 Audio-In. Set for analog in.Firewire cable from ADVC300 into Firewire INto MacBook Pro-no sound transfer. I've tried importing sound into Garage Band, Audicity, Analog Ripper, but nothing has worked so far. The Mac apparently isn't reading the Firewire connection from the ADVC 300. Suggest alternatives please. I've used ADVC 300 for Video-AV transfers before using "Capture" on Final Cut, but this time all I'm wanting to transfer is the LP---no video. Thanks.

If you have a 6-pin male-to-male Firewire cable the easiest way is target disk mode.
Start up your MBP holding down the "T" key until you see the firewire logo.
Connect the Firewire cable to the MBP and then the iMac.
The MBP will show up as a external hard drive on the iMac. Go to MBP's Drive/Users/Your username/Music/
Copy the iTunes Library to the same place on your iMac's drive.

With Premier 11, when I use the Instant Movie "Outdoor Adventure", after it is created I receive the following error message, locking up the program:
                   (NO problem with some other Instant Movies)
            Insert disk into drive   \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.
What does the error message mean and how do I fix it?

when i try to insert into a table i get an error message like

but if i see in the session status i see that the value of the element that will be inserted on the column is not null
and i haven't make mistakes on my insert query so how can it be possible

What is the source used and the source type of your columns having trouble? Is it all not nullable columns on a table that are having problems? Are other columns inserting fine?

Error when cloning a AD connector (cannot insert NULL into ("OIMUSER"."OIU"

I am getting below error when trying to clone AD connector (new resource). I Imported/Exported AD resource Object, Process form and the dependent lookup tables.

Cannot authorize my new macbook pro on iTunes. I de-authorized my previous computers. What is going on?

I cannot authorize my new macbook pro on itunes. I de-authorized all my previous accounts. I tried following the directions given for authorizing a computer, but I do not see this option when I open itunes. Any help is much appreciated.

Move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.

I have a BTHub4 - My iMac, iPhone, and children's iPads all connect to the internet no problem. I cannot get my 2 MacBook Pros or my partners MacBook Air to connect. Have tried diagnostics - says to change DNS but it is correct.

This is extraordinary. I have moved the router and also tried resetting it to its factory strings. We have had this router for over a year and all our devices have always worked. Now all four laptops will not connect to the internet. Only one oMac and our phones and iPad.
I have had far more devices running at once before but now all laptops are timing out on connection. Some say this iIP address is already being used but if I manually set to a slightly different IP address it does not help, noir if I manually set to the correct IP address. Why would all our laptops (four) suddenly be unable to connect?

The new iMac's don' t have DVD drives however almost all have a disk drive. The easiest method of installing MS Office for Mac on your new iMac is to download it from Microsoft and then input the code you received when you purchased your original license. Otherwise you can use the DVD drive on your MBP to install on your iMac, that feature is called Remote Disc. Instructions for Remote Disc can be found at:http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5287

i put condition for null .But if i dont fill the fields,even then the executeQuery is executing without checking the condition.
wht is the problem
what i want to change in my code.

1. Use code tags when you post code.
2. Use prepared statements.
3. If you have a field that requires a non-null entry then you must provide a non-null value. And for Oracle that means non-empty as well.

Autconfig error : ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("APPLSYS"."FND_NODES"."NODE_NAME")

Good day,
I am running EBS 11.5.10 with DB 10.2.0.4. I applied patch 7429271 following the steps in Doc Id. 233044.1.
After restarting the application, I got a "node id does not exist for the current application" when the forms started.
After purging fnd nodes (exec fnd_conc_clone.setup_clean) I ran autoconfig successfully on the dbtier but got the error below in the apps tier.
I also noticed that the contents of my dbc file has been erased and replaced with the template data (all values are default). I tried restoring it but it just got over written again with default data.
Hope my explanation was clear enough.
Any suggestions?
