Cannot install drivers in win 7 32 bits using bootcamp 4 or 5

I posted this question yesterday.
anyway, I have a imac midi 2011, 21,5 inches using OS x mountain lion 10.8.2. Manuals say I have to install bootcamp 4, because I install windows 7 profesional 32 bits.
Al follow all this instalation requirements, but when I try to install system say This software is not compatible.
I Downloaded from appel suppor site to PC intel and after I copy the .zip file in a root of USB formatted in FAT 32.
Finally is not possible download any driver. I I want to install an specific driver, is same problem.
I did all this steps but downloading bootcamp 5, and got same results. I understood Bootcamp 5 is only to install win 8 o win 7 64 bit, am I right?
Thanks for your help
Gilberto

To teh best of my knowledge, Boot Camp 5 only supports 64 Bit Windows installations (as it is designed for 64 bit hardware).  I dont recall positively, but I believe that Boot Camp 4 supports both 64 bit and 32 bit windows installations, but the installer may default to 64 bit mode.  You may have to extrace the drivers and install them manually in 32 bit mode.

  • Installing Windows 7 64-Bit Using BootCamp on Mac Pro 2,1 (Early 2007)

    Hi everybody,
I have Mac Pro 2,1 (early 2007) 8-core, my OS X is 10.6.4, I couldn’t install Windows 7 64-Bit on BootCamp separate drive (as my Mac Pro 2,1 is not supported for this installation by Apple). I am seeking help if anyone find a trick to do that task. Your help on this will be highly appreciated.

I was waiting to see if the original poster was still intent on going through with it, since it's (a) lot of work, and (b) an unsupported configuration. Unless he's using > 4GB of memory I'm not sure why he needs the 64 bit version of Win7 (there's even less reason to run 64-bit Windows as a VM). I'm not prepared to assume the responsiblity of solving any/all current and future problems he may run into, especially if this is for "work" and not a hobby-level, "I just want Win7-64bit" situation. If he's reading this and wants to proceed -
The Jowie page, while workable, requires a more steps (i.e. even more work); plus, the screenshots used are from an earlier release of imgburn, which has different options from the current version, and if the original poster needs that much handholding he could be put off.
Win7 AIK is "needed" because of the oscdimg.exe that is included. It is the "official Microsoft sanctioned" way of generating Windows ISO images. It's a one-line command that outputs an ISO image file once you have the Win7 disc in the drive, no need to muck about checking/unchecking boxes etc., and running the risk of burning coasters (since there's no way of knowing whether your output works until you actually run it, and imgburn has too many ways of messing up when you don't know what you're doing).
There are alternate "direct" sources for oscdimg.exe, which are smaller downloads than Win7 AIK http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=696dd665-9f76-4177-a 811-39c26d3b3b34&displaylang=en , but I'm a little chary of "programs sourced from unidentified hosts", even though I'm certain most of them are just being helpful and are not malicious (have you read Ken Thompson's Reflections on Trusting Trust - http://cm.bell-labs.com/who/ken/trust.html )
If the original poster (or anyone else reading) is interested, either the jowie.com method can be used, if you are averse to a command line or have poor download bandwidth, or you can get oscdimg.exe (however you choose to do so) and execute:
    oscdimg -n -m -bd:\boot\etfsboot.com d:\ c:\iso\win7dvd.iso
assuming oscdimg.exe is in your path (or your current directory), and you've created a directory c:\iso
Incidentally, after getting 64-bit Win7 installed your problems aren't over yet, because Boot Camp will refuse to install the 64 bit version on your "unsupported" machine. There is a workaround (see my post in the thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2589967&tstart=0 ) but I do not know if there will be a future release of Boot Camp that would defeat this.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 32-bit using Boot Camp

I have one of the new iMacs (late 2012) and I can't install Windows 7 32-bit using Boot Camp. Whenever I try to being the installation using the Boot Camp Assistant, I always get the following message: "Need 64-bit Windows installation USB drive or DVD. Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows installation on this platform. Please use an USB drive or DVD which contains 64-bit Windows". I have successfully installed 32-bit Windows on my Macbook Pro that is running the same version of Mac OS X and Boot Camp, but I don't know why on this new iMac it doesn't allow me to. Apple's documentation states that I should be able to install either 32-bit and 64-bit without any problem, but this is not the case here. I can't find anything about this problem/error on the Internet either. HELP!!!

Yes, circumstances do change but if Apple is, as they claim to be, serious about seamlessly migrating what is still a large and dominant market share of users from Windows, supporting 32 bit versions is not a nice to have, but a must have.
I don't see why users have to make excuses when there is a clear shortfall of what is promised.
In other discussions, there is talk of an opportunity for Apple to make a significant impact, as Windows 8 has deviated so much from the comfort zone of traditional Windows users. But to make that change, Macs have to support what is still a primarily 32 bit environment in the installed base.
As for the use of VMs, I had a tough time migrating out of Parallels 6 after an upgrade to Mountain Lion broke compatibility so IMHO it is not a long term solution unless you are happy to hand out $50 every 2-3 years just to support the same functionality.
    Use Virtual Box, it's free.
32 bit may have a reasonable user base but it's going away fast, if you must use 32 bit Windows and won't use a VM your choice is limited.
Buy a PC, or buy an older Mac.
The rest of your post is speculative and I won't go there.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 (64-bit) with Bootcamp

I tried to install Windows 7 64-bit on a MacPro running MacOS 10.6.7 with Bootcamp Version 3.0.4 (325).
I get the following hardware information from 'About This Mac':
    Model Name:          Mac Pro
      Model Identifier:          MacPro1,1
      Processor Name:          Dual-Core Intel Xeon
      Processor Speed:          2.66 GHz
      Number Of Processors:          2
      Total Number Of Cores:          4
L2 Cache (per processor):          4 MB
      Memory:          4 GB
      Bus Speed:          1.33 GHz
      Boot ROM Version:          MP11.005C.B08
      SMC Version (system):          1.7f10
After I inserted the Windows installation DVD and boot it up, I got an empty screen that asked me to select boot type, 1 or 2.
The keyboard did not respond any input so the whole installation was hung.  Can someone shed some light on what may went wrong?

    You can
    Select CD-ROM Boot prompt
You just can't boot from the DVD without extra steps.
Apple uses UEFI on those Macs that are "blessed" as being compatible, and yours and mine have older 2005 era EFI32 that won't.
We also are stuck with 1.9GB usable RAM in 32-bit Vista/7 also, another blow.
And no firmware update to Unified EFI 2.x to make us "compatible." Has not stopped 1000s from doing so though.

  • HT1461 I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now

I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp already, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now: I've got only BootCamp 3 disk and it doesn't goo even if I start it using compatibility options. And my BootCamp on Mac didn't offer me to burn cd with drivers for windows as I saw in many instructions. How can I resolve the problem? Thanks a lot.

Go back to Boot Camp: on the 2nd page you get this:
Download the support software and as Windows is already installed uncheck the 2nd box.

  • How can I create a new partition to install Windows 7 by not using Bootcamp

How can I create a new partition to install Windows 7 by not using Bootcamp?

If you want to dualboot you have to use boot camp i think. I think you have already a full disc and cannot make another partition I'm I right?
Your question seems a bit blurry so I'm giving you a general tip here.
If you want to just try the beta you can always use Sun's "Virtualbox".

    Hi there,
you're in the wrong forum, but I'll try to guide you.
(a better forum for your question would likely be this:
    http://social.answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/networking?tab=Threads )
Your RALink wireless adaptor is not manufactured by Intel, that's why Intel driver download won't help you.
You need to go here (RALink is now Mediatek) to get the drivers for your adaptor

    Good luck! :)

  • Install win 7 using Bootcamp

    i can t install win 7 on my macbook pro 2011 ....
when the mac restart and try to install windows it show this msg
No device driver  were found make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers ,

THIS IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME:
I had the exact same problem, searched everywhere, and only found one obscure little post somewhere that was my key to fixing this problem. I have a MBP Mid 2010 15" Core i7. Clean install of Mountain Lion on a brand new Crucial M4 SSD. I ran Bootcamp, followed instructions to the "T" as everyone on the forums with their RTFM responses so helpfully points out (sarcasm). I downloaded the drivers to a USB key, had my Win7 x64 install disc in the drive. Bootcamp would auto-reboot after creating the partition on my SSD, Win7 would start to install, I would get a couple steps in and get the message " no device drivers found make sure that the installation media...blah blah". I tried browsing to the USB key, which the installer could see, selected the folder on the key with the files. Every time, some message to the effect of "could not find files". No matter what, it would not find the files on the key, even though the files where clearly there. Then I tried the rEFit bootloader approach, that was a waste of time. Many searches to many different boards with no help, except for one which mentioned using a good hi-speed USB and an install disc that was BURNED AT 4X SPEED. I had tried everything else (including using a Win7 USB key install) with no results, so I took a step back, reburned my Win7 ISO onto a new DVD at 4x speed on my PC, verified it after burn. Used my best LaCie USB key (the ones that look like actual keys). I re-ran Bootcamp for about the 20th time. I re-did the step to download the Windows drivers to a USB key.
This time the install just worked, no problems at all. Win7 install got past the point where it was barking for missing drivers to the screen where it asks which partition on which to install. I selected the BOOTCAMP partition. You have to reformat it first in the installer to be the correct format. Then the install went off without a single hitch.
    So to recap:
    1) Use a decent USB key
    2) Burn your Win7 install disc at 4x write speed, verify it to make sure it's perfect.
Not sure which one of these two things fixed my "missing driver" issue and allowed a smooth install, but one or both of them did because that's all I did differently this time.

  • Multitouch drivers for Windows 8 using Bootcamp?

    Macbook Pro
    Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013
Processor  2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics  Intel Iris Pro 1024 MB
Is there any drivers that will enable multitouch on Windows 8 using bootcamp? The problem I often run into occurs when I attemp to click with one finger and move a file with another finger. On OSX this works flawlessly making it so simple to move around files.

Did you download and install the Windows Support software in accordance with the Boot Camp instructions? If so, you have a Boot Camp Control Panel icon ion your Windows task bar. Open the control panel and set your trackpad options how you want them configured.

I've used to bootcamp install windows , Can i use parallel to use it

If Parallels will run okay with Panther then you can install Windows into it. Parallels runs like a native Apple program on your desktop. Windows runs in Parallels the same as it would in Virtual PC. If you use bootcamp then you are setting up your Mac to dual boot Windows or the Mac OS. I have tried both and Parallels is way more convenient.
