  • Cannot install Firefox on new HP running windows 7. After it extracts file I get this error message: specific path does not exist

It then goes on to say, check path and try again. I created the file path and soon realized that it changes the name of the path each time.
    Example path:
    c:\\Users\Karen\AppData\Local\Temp\7zSCAD.tmp\setup.exe
Running windows 7, 64 bit and was trying to download the new Firefox 7. When that didn't work I tried an older version and received the same message.
I loved Firefox on my old computer which was running XP. I hope that there is a fix for this.
    Thanks!

Thanks for the help...worked like a charm! :D

  • TS3212 Cannot install iTunes to my PC running Windows Vista. Message "The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory....Log on as administrator." I am logged on as administrator. I am attempting to install from download by right-clicki

I've had iTunes on my PC forever. Because recent updates have aborted with the message:"The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory... Log on as administrator," I am now attempting to download a fresh copy from the Apple website. Same message! I am logged on as administrator. I can download, then attempt to run by right-clicking on the installer and selecting, "Run as administrator" but that gets me only to the same point (and message) as attempting to install directly from the internet. I've never seen this message with any other download. What gives?

What's the precise name of the directory being mentioned? (Give the full file path, please.)

I cannot install iTunes.  I get a Windows Error 126 and missing msvcr80.dll.  I've tried uninstalling and re-installing based on all the suggestions, but still have an issue.  I've removed all the services, tried moving the dll files as suggested, but I still have no success.  Spent all day on this issue.  I am running windows 7.

Sorry to hear this isn't going smoothly for you. Try  Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. You may have seen some of the suggestions here before but is has taken some users more than one attempt.

  • Cannot install LR5 due to not having Windows 7.

I purchased an update of LR5 and cannot load it because I do not have Windows 7. Is there anything I can do other than buying a new computer?

From what I conclude, it is not an upgrade to 4.4, but a stand alone program that all of a sudden needs windows 7, which I do not have. After downloading windows 7 test program to see if I can have windows 7 and it's compatibility, it turns out my machine is not compatible or many issues with warning symbols. I am in the process of purchasing a new laptop with 12GB ram and 1TB hard drive, windows 8, with NVIDIA G Force video card just so I can play with LR5. All I am saying is, if it's an upgrade, fine, don't change the operating system requirements. Make it a stand alone program. Then, previous owners of LRxx have the option of buying LR5 at a reduced rate rather than paying full price. Then everyone is aware of the incompatibilities.
Thx for listening to my rant and I appreciate Adobe to offer to repurchase the software. I just hope I can re-load LR4.4 on this new laptop and accept LR5 without having to pay again for LR4.4.

    You're welcome Rémi,
Unfortunately, purchasing software, much like anything else you buy online, is pretty much on the buyer to beware.  The vendor cannot know the intended use, whether the software is being purchased for the machine at hand, or another machine, or as a gift for someone else.  They provide a list of system requirements in the product pages but don't intrude into your machine to determine whether or not it is a suitable match.
It looks like Jeff might have provided a reasonable recourse for you.  Hopefully you won't run into a problem there.

    Hellooo Apple Community!

    Thankyou thankyou thankyou!
    Natalie.

I just tried running the Lenovo Hard Drive Quick Test both in normal mode and in safe mode.  Both times it indicated a failed read test on the HDD. The last two tests also failed.  I forget what those tests were called.
I am really beginning to think I have a bad HDD and the problem just happens to be in the reserved partition where my factory system software resides.

  • Cannot install HP LaserJet Pro M225Dw on Windows 8.1 64-bit

I bought an M225Dw and tried to install it on my laptop running Windows 8.1 with all current updates.  Halfway through, the intallation program said it couldn't continue, restart, try again, call tech support if it happens again.  I restarted, geot the same result.  Tech support spent several hours taking over my computer and got the exact same result.  Said my Windows operating system was corrupted.   Fair enough, it could happen.  So I dragged out a tower computer I use only for running flight simulators.  This computer is NOT usually connected to the Internet.  This computer is pristine.  No garbage of any kind on it.  Guess what?  Exact same result.  I can not believe that both my computers, which work perfectly in every respect, have corrupted operating systems.   BTW, I plugged the USB cable from the printer into my MacBook and the Mac said "Oh, I see you have a new printer.  Would you like to install a driver for it?"  I clicked OK, and two minutes later the printer was up and running with no stupid questions, no manipulation of registry entries, and no claims of corrupted operating systems. Do HP printers not work with Windows 8.1 or has Microsoft finally reached the point where Windows is so complex and convoluted that it has become completely useless? Should I take my HP printer back to the store and get a Brother or a Canon, or do I have to go to Best Buy, and buy a new computer and a new printer on condition that the Geek Squad can get them both to talk to each other? Final note:  HP tech support said I would get a phone call at 11 a.m. this morning to follow up.  It's now 1:40 p.m. and guess what?  No phone call.   Can HP and/or Microsoft survive or are they just dying companies that used to be great?  Well, HP used to be great, anyway.  Not so sure about Microsoft. Thanks for listening to my rant.  Any thoughts on how to get one of my computers to talk to the printer?

I did get a call from HP tech support, thank you. This time, the tech knew exactly what the problem was before he even looked at my computer. In a nutshell, there are conflicts between the HP driver installation program and all the junk programs that start up automatically with Windows. The fix is to run msfconfig, go to the Services tab, and check the box to "hide Microsoft services".  This leaves all the other services that start up automatically, most of which are probably junk and shouldn't even be there.  Click the button to Disable all the remaining services.  Any antivirus scanners will continue to remain enabled even after clicking on Disable. Then go to the CDROM that comes with the printer and open the Utilities folder.  Run the program called Scrubber.exe to remove all traces of previous failed attempts to install the printer.   Restart the computer. Go back to the CDROM and find Setup.exe, which is hiding at the bottom of the list (I failed to see it the first time I went looking for it).  Click on that to install the printer. Easy when you know how. Thanks again to those who stepped in to help me when the first attempts at installation failed so miserably. I will close with a refrain that went through my mind as the HP tech and I waited over an hour for this process to run its course (installation of the same printer on my MacBook took all of two minutes).  With apologies to Lerner and Loewe, "Why can't a Windows be more like a Mac?".

Hey I have a toshiba laptop and I cannot install firefox because the laptop runs android and there's only version for linux...and if u can tell me how to install adobe flash player too...Any advices??

This is a known problem, but we don't have a solution for it. If your device has the Toshiba Market app, you might be able to download a (possibly outdated) version of Firefox from there.

  • Error r6034 in trying to install iTunes on a computer running Windows 7

In trying to solve the problem of the runtime error R6034, I have tried all of the suggestions but cannot remove Apple Mobile Device.  I moved on to the next program on the list and uninstalled all but that one.  When I rebooted and reinstalled itunes I got the same r6034 runtime Error.
When that failed, I went to restore and chose a date that I knew itunes had worked.  But after the restore, I received the same error plus one that said AdCore.dll file is missing.  I'm stuck now since I cannot install iTunes.  BTW, along with Apple Mobile Device not uninstalling, iTunes does not appear in my list of installed programs, so I cannot clean the computer of all apple software.
